  1. For sale DEPO blackout 350Z headlights 2006> facelift style Fit any 350Z with standard Xenon headlights. Only 2 months old Selling due to picking up a set of the OEM non-blackout facelift light which I prefer and had been looking for over a year...! Includes Philips OEM spec D2S bulbs and orange indicator bulbs. (£30+ overall cost new) Just needs cable and ballast swapped over from any OEM 350Z Xenon headlights. Can supply these for extra if needed - I have spares. £380 Collection/delivery from Ipswich and surrounding areas or can deliver fairly easily to London.
  2. To be 'safe' you need 2x HFCs in each side.... They might pass for a couple years but with very narrow margin. Thing is, even if you put in 4x 2.5" into 4-5" body HFCs in the Y branches, the flow is still waaaaaay higher than the ceramic stock cats and good for 1000hp in all likelihood before becoming more than a 1% bottleneck. I have 2 issues - I went the HFC route like you and couldn't pass with the ones I had installed without an additional HFC added after the Y. Initial tests were 0.37% CO, then right on the 0.2% CO limit after adding the third HFC. What I'll probably do is move that latter one to one side of the Y branch and buy another for the other side like I mention above. The other issue is the noise - because they're virtually unrestricted flow (very close to de-cat flow) the car is insanely loud. Not helped by my 3" single exhaust. Might struggle for track days, which is my immediate issue.
  3. This company/customers make me cringe because they use new parts when there's literally no difference between the part coming off and the new one. Burning up all the old spares.
  4. Do you do the add-on cover that my current Flux policy has where I'm insured full comp on any other vehicle up to £20k? I'm due renewal in August on my agreed value policy which will probably need to go up following a full respray around that time. Also interested in your pricing for track day cover. Thanks David
  5. Bumper cut - probably suits a GT wing more. It's function is to reduce the drag created by the wake of the rear tyres. TS style diffuser- Voltex style lowe (probably my personal favourite) Or there's the Nismo 'v3' which I have
  6. Is that your car Dave? Did I ask whether you've done a decibel check? Can't remember what your 'cat back' is. Specdroid is also pretty cool to look at if on an Android device. Shows you which frequencies are dominant/louder at different rpm. Ideal for designing Helmholtz/quarter wave chambers to cancel out particular drones.
  7. If you can work out what rpm you want to optimise then you could use a specific length at the collector point. I'd say on a VQ you could optimise 6-6100rpm, as that's where there's a dip before it starts to rise in power again as long as you have the right breathing mods. Look up quarter wave resonators and you'll find the maths you need. Make sure you use one that includes differences for exhaust temp. Think typical exhaust temps are 350-400°c at that point of the pipe. The same principles apply as when designing exhaust headers, except headers have a bigger effect as they're closer to the exhaust valves. (Bigger pressure wave back to exhaust valves to suck out/in gases) Any difference while still N/A is likely to be 5bhp/5lb-ft tops at a particular rpm range. Or.... Maybe save the money.
  8. Great paintwork. I do think it need a more aggressive rear bumper with that spoiler and the single exit though.... Slippery slope because then you'll want to balance it with more aggressive front and skirts! Maybe bumper cut or tuck plus a top secret style diffuser? Then as I say to balance it out maybe a front lip/splitter combo?
  9. Personally think it's a good deal. Great knowledge, service and after care in addition to the end result of squeezing virtually every horse out of your car. Added to that it's on a hub dyno, so accurate. Great for data nerds... Yes, I will reply to your email at some point Mark, just got a few other priorities like impending track day and respray atm...
  10. Think I actually dug out official MOT doc and read that part. There's a few other things that the 'if fitted' rule applies to as well.
  11. Not an MOT item - they're there due to UK/EU rules for manufacturers. I have Nismo v2 replica bumper and did away with the headlight washers 2 years ago.
  12. Ahh - doh! I reckon you'd see 285hp at the hubs with stainless equal length headers added to the HFCs. If you were manual then 290-295 (based on Sasha Anis' cam shootout and similar breathing mods on a Dynapack) Considering you are automatic box then your 265 hubs figure is more likely 310-315 at the fly as the auto box loses more through the transmission.
  13. Holy f*** can you detail my exhaust? Have you tested what the sound level is at say 4500rpm like a track day static test? Mine is currently around 102-105dB with similar configuration but larger diameter piping....
  14. Haha yeah - I'm looking at getting Uprev for personal use so I don't have to visit Abbey all the time, as nice as they are. Did you replace the con rods for something beefier? Do you have the original dyno graph printout, out of interest? I think you can do Jim Wolf C8s without changing pistons or using non-OEM design aftermarket pistons. - http://www.jimwolftechnology.com/wolfpdf/cam_spec_card_vq35_incl_revup.pdf
  15. Awesome, I was thinking about doing that just the other day over the rear cabinet plastics. Look forward to seeing the completed photos! Should reduce cabin drone/reverberation which was one of the big things for me . (I have only rose joint and poly bushes - no rubber bushings on the car )
  16. Very nice - 305 at the hubs so around 350 at the fly. Must be a very healthy engine- assume 'stage 2' means around 260° duration? If so, I'd expect around 290-295@hubs with sports cats or decats, so that oversized and fresh pistons is putting in some work. Maybe better compression than OEM, plus slight displacement increase. I'd not be surprised if re-tuned now with HFCs if you made 310-315 at the hubs. Very impressive given the mods.
  17. Hi all Recently discovered a fabricator (very) local to me near Ipswich. If you search '350Z harness bar uk' they come up first - and at a great price. - https://gcfabrications.co.uk/product/350z-harness-bar-cabin-brace/ I've been over to meet the owner Grant about some custom works which may lead to new products - seems like an enthusiastic can-do guy. Ordered this a couple weeks ago - arrived within 4 days. Fitted yesterday, very good fitment - fits underneath the OEM seat belt mount after removing a couple of washers to make room. Very happy with the result - ready for running harnesses/helmet/HANS on track. (not going full cage - very much remaining a street car)
  18. Doesn't quite hit the spot for me that one - the black grille is a little large on the bottom side - the lip needs to have a hard white line IMO:
  19. Christ, forgot I made this thread lol As the car sits now- You can see I did get the Craft Square mirrors. Had a 3" custom exhaust and cats built last summer and have since modified that twice due to excess volume. DC Sports headers on at the same time. Corbeau RRB seats... Alcantara wheel, Advan TC-4 18x10 wheels on 265/35/18-F 285/35/18-R... New Brembo OEM discs and pads... BC Racing 14k/12k true rear coils later changed to 8k/6k Swift springs... Mishimoto rad fans... fire extinguisher with mount ... harness bar/chassis brace... DEPO headlights.... full suspension poly bushed or changed to adjustable arms with rose/heim joints (Voodoo13)... Voodoo13 adjustable rod ends... Whiteline ARB and end links... Big country labs wing with custom CF uprights and end plates... HR bonnet, Nismo v3 replica rear bumper... coilover covers (corrosion is bastard!) .... Aam oil pan spacer ... 19 row oil cooler... Kinetix Velocity plenum... Injen CAI. Dyno tune day resulted in an increase from 253hp to 269hp @ hubs @ 6800rpm (redline now 7100rpm) - So approx. 310 ATF. next mod is probably custom-fabbed bonnet and front wing aero vents (pressure relief/cooling/downforce/lift reduction) ... before respray in August. (delayed by 'Rona - blessing as I can get more done and finish with a better product) Also have CS Bottomline style skirt add-ons for the respray. Yes, the very definition of Zed fever. The car's getting a bit Trigger's broom.
  20. 350hp from a Rev-Up shouldn't be difficult. That's 305-310hp at the wheels which should be achieved with the following shopping list at over 7000rpm: Plenum spacer or Kinetix Velocity plenum (or custom) 200/300 cell 2.5" diameter cats Stainless larger diameter equal length headers - Tomei for example 2.5"+ Y-pipe branches 3"+ exhaust (Tomei for example) Jim Wolf S7R cams (http://www.jimwolftechnology.com/wolfpdf/cam_spec_card_vq35_incl_revup.pdf) Up-Rev tune On an HR, you save on not having to buy a plenum spacer or headers to make 300whp+... Also agree with Jack on the single exit - needs a tuck or different bumper with flat bottom. I have a Nismo v3 style rear bumper and cut out the lower sculpts/recesses for tailpipes so it's a straight line across.
  21. Ahhh, I'd always assumed it was wired into the speakers somewhere. Those high pitched beeps are difficult to trace by ear. It's the UK GT dealer-install integrated parking sensors, so should be behind the handbrake lever like you say.
