  1. I was wondering what your opinions are on the handling of this car the DE. I havent pushed it to its limits as there arent many places bar a track to do that without getting killed. i was "hated on" for purchasing a bad handler. I shut the convo down by asking him how many times hes been to the dealer lol I think maybe some people cant tell the difference between a 350 and a 370z, I had a feeling he was referring to the 370z Nismo that just came out, which apparently his mate had for all of a week and returned on a whim after asking his opinion (because he lacked grapefruits to be his own man) and probably did what every lemon does, Bought a bmw sedan or a merc diesel lump instead of living a little. So what are your opinions on the handling. I assumed all rear wheel drives kick out at the back when driven silly. What makes this any diff? ps also people cant tell a GT from an out and out track car. Then when you expose them, they backtrack and talk about day to day. With a few mods (remap, suspension set up, spacers, CAI, exhaust) you can convert this to a track car similar to the s2000's Geometry Mods which transform the car, we all agree from the factory it isnt a straight out track car right? Loving the car so far, love the noise, Moral of the story do what you want, but live a little lol
  2. Me too but at 100 odd quid they're hard to justify. I know someone used to refurb them on here, is that an option? I didnt know a refurb was possible, maybe someone has a bit more info
  3. I havent but its in my watch list, I would prefer a fresh OEM to be honest lol
  4. the engines blow at 110, so he must be bragging
  5. Never understood that, my mate had a woman in a 2015 bentley gt white staring at him in his e92 satin black M3, that was basis for a long discussion at how people are never satisfied lol, tbh most of those people are either fans of the car or know that its got a different style from those other jap cars. had a few looks on the way back from Essex, had a few girls waving, and some people staring as in what are you doing down here lol or that exhaust is loud isnt it
  6. supermarket fuel...few years ago i had a misfiring problem, which i sorted by cleaning silicone off the coil packs and trapped dirt, the car jerked and hesitated on supermarket fuel, when i put bp or shell it happened very rarely in America i know gas stations get inspected for quality. here in uk you are open to the elements, yes we get good quality fuel among the best quality in the world. Premium fuel has been proven to make no difference to consumption. Although in some cases the car runs smoother and responds a tiny bit better. But theres no proof of this, just personal experience.
  7. black cars always look good, when clean especially in the summer, mines silver not everyones cup of tea, but it looks more machineyy if thats a thing.
  8. search the forum youll find it both cars flip, all that matters is whos at fault and are there any injuries or deaths or claims to be made. maintenance is your job lol, insurance never cared as long as you drive safe so they dont have to lose money on more claims
  9. Is that satin black? well thing is not a lot of people drive 3.5 litre jap cars lol, badge snobbery and following a crowd maybe
  10. Shame Honda dont do coupes, and they are releasing Type R coupe for America and maybe a new s2000, The civic is too light, but handles well. The quality doesnt feel all there compared to the Z. Z is a quick car, but in the real world especially nowadays its probably mid range compared to some other beasts. Which is why people just charge it, Torque is ok, combine that with N/A v6 you got a natural beast. CTR 2015 may be a vast improvement over FN2, apparently with small mods it can get to 350...... Im happy with the Z, you can still have a lot of fun. its not always about crazy speeds, but how you feel when you drive it and how it handles, i did some miles with the previous owner love it! on a long journey you dont feel fatigued at all....which is suprising. These Honda boys came from saxos, clios etc. That to them its fast, plus they like being able to corner with ease, just like the Z to me is quick coming from a 1.8 civic, to a long term owner probably not so the supercharged version is quick, and so on.....but when you start getting used to speed where an M3 e92 etc isnt fast enough then you probably need mental evaluation . clio 182 was quick to me in 2004 when my bro got it brand new va va voom!
  11. heavy right foot lol and town drifting
  12. adrian flux quoted me 1400....ill try prestige now lol
  13. ive seen a few senior people in type rs etc, i think a lot more are knowledgeable and maybe because they like the old fashioned manual cars unspoilt by computers
  14. a shed, nope not offended yet.....lol, i saw a youtube of one in Poland and i think they were more rare a few years ago, so it did get lots of looks, i saw like 3 in essex and a 370 so they must be popular down there as they have the roads for it. I like the fact its different and not too common around my area, ive seen 1 in my area in the last 12 months
  15. thanks, ill give you a call soon, do i need to ask or quote anything in particular that might help?
  16. lol, well i went ahead and bought it, Inspector said car is in good condition for age, and also clutch is fine, its around the same as my civic just above half way, TBH my civic was one of those adjustable depending on how you drive ones, Hopefully it holds up. different car though, if i drive like daisy should do Interior did have slight marks but im thinking of getting bits repainted or wrapped not a biggie, Body work had ball point pen sized dints not too many, I left him to get on with his inspection and kept the seller busy chatting away. Funds didnt clear till midnight, lesson learnt on that front, I was able to knock him down a little so got it for little over 5k, slightly above what i though i could knock him down to. But i can see the guy has spent money on it, and isnt exactly struggling for funds. wheels alone costs close to 900 pounds.they are new it will need pads in the next 500 1000 miles, discs are fine, car drives good and soaks up bumps well, exhaust isnt loud at idle, but is crackles and pops at start up and on high revs, neighbours will love me, its a japtech full stainless Just had a 300 pound service and check up, full service history and good mot history. He even took us out for lunch while we waited for the bank to clear the funds, seemed a genuine guy, proper character, Touchwood eh....lets see how long this 350 fling lasts, goes like the wind, seeing as i dont do many miles, and i keep my cars serviced and looked after, im sure the value will be ok when it comes to selling
  17. I basically need to insure in advance of my renewal date of the 25th of March, i can explain my situation in a PM if any sales/trader people want to give me a better quote than the meerkats are offering! It will be on a 350z 2003-2005 no mods. I am 30 years and had license for 8 years with 7 NCB. Help!!!
  18. the Type R was also an option for me, and maybe in future who knows. the tax works out the same as well as the insurance for me. Fuel costs are 4-6 mpg difference. It will be okay for now until the fuel price goes up, a lot of type rs do have 18/19s on them but they are much lighter cars, Like go karts, EP3 is a classic, i was tempted by the fn2, apparently the ep3 is faster
  19. I will agree to disagree there, all decent ones are mostly advertised and sell for the same sort of money, anything else will be a lottery if you ask me from my brief experience during 3 years of ownership and 2 zeds, the price hasnt really changed much since i was looking for my first one. They can be found cheaper of course and if your in luck the owner may be desperate for some money and you get a bargain, but anything i looked at under £6000 was a dog of some description, poor bodywork/good mechanics or vice versa, i paid just over £5k for my first one but it needed a clutch. Just go in with your eyes open, if it needs pads it may well need discs if they are badly lipped, £500 all round, tyres £500... There another one i found closer to home 5 miles instead of 70 just serviced and had the clutch changed, its going for 5400, non GT 2005 100,000 miles, back to the original one he said pads will need doing in another 1000 miles, disc and pads ive seen for 299 and can get them done at a local for 50 -60 quid depending on how hungry the guy is, tyres are fresh just put on with those rims, car was serviced recently so the recommendations will be there, hopefully the inspection will bring up any thing else..... believe me my eyes have never been opened wider. this one has 5 owners, 3 from the same family whos selling it now, ill be the 6th http://www.autotrade...issan&logcode=p I called the guy he said they are trying to arrange finance for one guy, so if it comes back boxes ticked its gone, Its been there for a about 4 weeks, its the DE 2005 engine with 2006 reg apparently full service history new clutch etc. Guy sounded fed up ,
  20. depends black looks great when the weather is dry and stealth when its grey and miserable, but blue is kinda stand out ish. hard choice, for the roadster black is a good choice but depends on the condition and if its been taken care of
  21. Im going to see it tomorrow regardless of if the mechanic shows up and make an offer after the inspection is done, and hes the one quoting 5300, but i havent made him any offer. Like someone said I dont think its worth more than 5k at the very best. Bank transfer only, no cash on me, i made it clear to him too,
  22. I will have an inspection booked, will be checking it myself, and i remember you saying that, thats really bad
  23. These are few of the cars where the price varies considerably. a lot of traders are selling 2005's with 60-90k miles at 6500 to 8000. GT usually. Non GT still commands a 6k asking price. privately its all over. Theres a white one thats been slightly modified guy wants 6995.... Yesterday i saw a black one 2004 96k miles for 5k orange leather 7 owners......guy had it a month and didnt bother checking insurance prices so has sorned it,... 4k youre a mad man, I would have happily taken that off you for 5 and a bit........
