  1. the way i see it is they can do what they like to it, bottom line is its going home with me lol. things like key marks and hairline scratches dont worry me anymore, im used to it now, its you who will be driving it home and has the car ;-)
  2. i will try and get a second opinion over the weekend, its a 2003 with 86k miles, cant see any advisories, reciepts, possibly never been changed, speaking of links do you mean the drop links/anti roll bar links?
  3. Hi guys, long time, I have an issue with my car with noise coming from the front The mechanic checked it and we have changed the shocks, mounts and bushings are ok. The noise is apparent when going over a speed bump at an angle. If i go over straight on its not always there. Its got worse over the last few weeks. If one wheel on the left is depressed and one isnt it makes noise, or if the bump is high and the car drops of it it clunks. if the car overs with two wheels depressed it isnt always clunking. It used to be mainly on the left side. but now its on both sides. It sounds like cupboard drawers knocking. Almost like a wooden sound. mechanic reckons it is the Banana/Compression arm. some forums say links, But to test the car needs weight on it. It would be easy to test if there was a small hump just before the ramp. Im not sure if it can be heard from outside. Any ideas?
  4. Breaking as in removing mods or breaking completely?
  5. we all could have held back and never bought a z because a good example never came on the market. Thats how it goes lol. £7000 is a fair price for the extras added. Even though it probably only covers a fraction on what was spent.New buyer doesnt need to do much, Just drive
  6. Get a fire extinguisher just in case. I have one anyway, even though mine doesnt shoot flames. It does pop
  7. I do worry about mine, as the wheels are in your face so to speak. I try and park where there are cameras and it is busy. When I go to work I park in front of the cctv cameras in shopping center. Hoping should the worst happen I can pay them a fee and get the tape with no problems. or simply report to police and hope they will put pressure to get the video. Even so its not a big enough crime to warrant looking for the culprit. I had it happen to my honda civic when i left it at the mechanics. 7 cars were keyed in on multtiple panels. Mine had every single panel keyed in. The guy who works there has annoyed a few people. Never got it sprayed i drove around with it, after that i stopped caring about this stuff. The bonnet, two front quarters, both doors and the roof all deep scratches. The bonnet had a long obvious squiggly line. When I went to the car wash the guys there were saying picasso did this. Sold the car for £900 pounds and the buyer came at night.....but i showed him all the damage On the off chance you do see someone best to call the police and follow them quietly till the police arrive.
  8. lol, my first quote at the age of 25 on a Golf 1.6 2002, was £1500 pounds, 6 years later my quote on a 350z was £750 pounds with 6 years NCB, no other insurance would have me at a decent price, yet a 20 something year old from the country side or outside Londinium can get it at £600 pounds with 0 years no claims. Fair world if you ask me! Thats with a modded exhaust which is common on these cars as the standard ones are rubbish. and bigger wheels to keep the lump on the road. But hey what do I know. No points, no accidents, no claims
  9. magic mileage filter, narrows down the search, why some people dont put the mileage on display lol
  10. About £6500 plus, Car is fun to drive, but so can a less powerful jap car.
  11. Thanks Sly, good to deal with a specialist for once, and my MPG went up to 24MPG, 2 hours drive both ways,Good road trip! not so much on the way back though Got back at 1.30 left there at 11.20. No fatigue or backaches not even a headache.
  12. keep looking, unfortunately no zeds are perfect and thats the risk with used cars. The owner is probably thinking it will cost x amount to bring it back to a good standard. By then he lost out 2-3k etc. It looks like he hasnt spent anything on it though. Perfect Zed expect to pay around 7k plus. Remember mechanical condition matters the most, but right to walk away on this occasion
  13. I got them from Brakedepot with Mintex at the back brembo in the front Stay away from drilled, they crack.....grooved are better or plain branded discs,
  14. if you don't mind driving 60 miles we can get these sorted for you at F.O.C with any service or £30 without service im based in Northolt, are you in Kent? its a good deal for sure, how much with gearbox oil change with the famous molyslip thrown in, just need a saturday free, im on 85,000 and major service is at 90,000, What/where is F.O.C
  15. I think mechanical condition should dominate everything else, No car is perfect even brand new ones break down at the side of the M4 ;-)
  16. Does anyone local to Watford/Harrow have the tools to do this, obviously everything involves risk when doing these things, i would do it myself if I had the tools, i.E Torque Wrench and Grease. Ive been quoted £100 total for both sides and 2 hours labour by a well known indy. This takes an hour right? Maybe I can do this elsewhere then just go to the garage and sort another suspension issue. Problem is most garages dont throw things in. they want to charge an hour for each problem even though it takes 15 mins etc with minimal priced parts....
  17. "what size engine is that" while trying to avoid a full blown conversation,I said 3.5 and went in the house! Might have appeared rude, but thats the same guy when asked about an alleyway said its his land ;-) The painter said today "nice car mannn, the wheels are sick, you will get mad kitten with this car," I said lets get inside away from prying eyes lol Had a guy wave at me in mcdonalds like I knew him, people look, But the main thing is to enjoy the car as long as I can while I can, I bought it for myself and love the tunnels and underpass, great noise. Was with a friend who visited maranello and she was impressed with the sound, even though you cant compare with V12s etc love it so far, shame we only have half days of sun, full days come when you are at work! My next car will definitely have to be something not too many people have, ill be doing major research,
  18. loool, the reputation of wannabe GTR owners is cemented with this one
  19. Visit Maranello and make some friends like my friend did lol, you never know tbh
  20. if i win the lottery ill have a flying car by 2035, only used at night ofcourse so i cant be spotted, with f22 type coating to minimise radar detection, call me batman, 0-60 miura, those cars were grown up though, and had superior top speeds, so you might get left today, but youll be in a unique motor
  21. *sigh* inferiority complex as the american say, god forbid you hit the jackpot, i fear for your safety, it brings out the best in people, never mind the guy that just pulled up in a 2016 aston martin, youre the VIP
  22. he did say he had been looking at them for a while, then exposed himself asking details that would come up if you were looking for them. Fair dos ive never known what a ford galaxy has, id rather google it than stop someone in traffic though, I had someone tell me yesterday to get a better car, , not my fault its not to everyones tastes eh, if its not something you would buy then go about your business . how about the old guy walking aggressively onto the pedestrian crossing as im making a turn looking the other way, good thing i saw him eh. And his wife has her hands wide out looking at him asking what are you thinking.......the ones that pull up beside you then speed off,
  23. so the point of your post was ... ? Its edited, my mate has one and i like the M3 and Potatoes
  24. I was coming home from work yesterday, when a guy in a diesel A class the previous shape skipped about 6 cars to pull up beside me and ask "is that a fairlady Z", what Litre is that? Ive been looking for a while how much do they go for? I just said they arent expensive.....And this my friends is why I need tints, I can pretend I didnt see him next time. Everyone circumstances are different plus theres a reason he was driving a diesel A class, possibly for a long commute to work. I work 6 miles away down the motorway. So its £30 pound a week to go to work and run an errand or two. I get a new job tomorrow far away Id have to get rid. So before he skipped another 2 cars ahead and got onto the main road, he said he'd have a look when he got home and sped off lool. Last time this happened I was in my mates E class that just came out, Thats why we have Google, his was debadged, my mate just answered one question "E Class" and wound back up lool. When they get home and they see that the car in question has a higher list price than they assumed or the Z are now back up on the price as summer approaches he'l be in for a shock. I bought this car because I was curious and I have always liked it since it first came out whilst I was in high school in 2002/2003. I used to ask my older bros to draw cars and planes for me when i was 7,8. So its not me jumping on a hype, Its me wanting to try something different, and scratching an itch Ive had since the glory days of Gran Turismo and Max Power magazines. Unlike these people that just see materials, expensive things and oh bob neighbor just got a new land rover v6, we are getting a v8 type jeep next week! Apart from the race me invisible emblem have you guys had similar clowning experiences, lets face it if he was genuine he would know the price and the size of the engine, after googling not ogling
  25. reverse logos/emblems, lol, wonder what the next gen 370z will look like, probably wont be called that but hey
