  1. I've only done a couple but fitted upgraded discs and pads and braided lines (upgraded pads is a bare minimum I'd say) and found it 100% manageable. I've only got goodyear eagle F1's and found them extremely reliable on a dry track. Also you may find going out with an expert extremely beneficial to improve skills. Or pay for tuition. I know Castle Combe do 3 hours for £255.
  2. I've done the odd track day on Mine with only a brake upgrade. Was using Goodyear Eagle F1's and couldn't really fault them for a 15 minutes blast around Combe. Didn't come off thinking damn I need better tyres. I'd one on the original Bridgestones and wasn't too impressed though. Not done a whole day so couldn't comment on that.
  3. my zed has been well serviced all of its life and has high oil consumption. Have no doubt it's been like it most of its life. Bought it at 56k its now on 74k after a further 3 years. I've not had one problem in that period of time and I mean that. Changed wear tear parts, that's it. It's a daily driver too. Two oil changes in that time and about to do the third. So will compression test be the best way to check if its got problems?
  4. Most of them are probably rusted. Most of mine are sheared off. I need to make some brackets for them soon.
  5. Dont do it! Black all the way! I used hammerite in the end on Mine.
  6. Arghhh If I was moving into a house and getting married I'd have this off you. Great price and perfect mods. My 350z isn't going anywhere luckily and even the missus doesn't want it to go. Amazing car and I'm sure it won't be around for long.
  7. Will be doing this soon too. Left my reservoir empty for too long and thing the motor has seized.
  8. Are you pressing cruise control then pressing down on the speed adjustment to set?
  9. Change plugs if they've not be changed then test again. Can always change the pack each coil at time to determine which one
  10. Or if you want an alternative denso IKH20's roughly £45 for 6
  11. Both my rears did this had to gave them to an engineering company on the south coast to drill and put new valves in! Annoying as my mate who fitted them lived a couple of hours away but wasn't his fault. Cost £40-50 so wasn't too much drama. At least I know they are sorted for the future.
  12. Garage wise go to Leighton at Pro-garage in warmly for most of the work. He's a top lad and builds/races/Drifts Jap cars and always used him while I lived in Chippenham with the zed.
  13. Something similar happened to an old BMW 328i I used to own. It was a common problem that the solder used to fail on the points! Basically needed to get a solder gun on the points and re-heat to re set them.
  14. The plugs on mine when I changed them were all loose! God knows what idiot fitted them before and didn't help a coil pack going.
  15. Sorry it's taken so long. I've now got the goodyears all round and couldn't be happier! Did a 15 min session at Combe and was extremely impressed for the price. I was trying to get the back end out and was sticking to the road. Got more confidence as the session went on. As for road noise I wouldn't have a clue! I have an exhaust system 😠Was the old Bridgestones I think but it's put me off.
  16. Second on that I have the goodyears asymmetric 2 and I rate them quite highly. Was never a fan of the Bridgestones.
  17. Who steals a standard stereo 😂 it's a shame you've not got the money for a double din with sat nav! Hope you sort it buddy!
  18. My Mrs drives mine all the time but she's a good driver and can parallel park like you've never seen. It nice to see how it sounds when it goes past! Although did have one scary moment going over a hump back bridge when the back end got V twitchy but she held it well!
  19. Got a little vid of one side of the stand and some pics! Add science_lippett_350z on instagram or add on Facebook
  20. Me and Jade will be there but not on stand or track time as originally planned!! See a lot of you tomorrow.
  21. Ouch!! I've got hel and wishing I did get the Goodrich as they are a direct fit and use existing fitting positions where as the hel use rubber clamps. Been using the hel for 7 months no problem. Clutch line also changed.
