  1. I know this might sound stupid. But with the above mention on using aluminium as a material. How would it be dangerous for other traffic? I'm sure anyone would use plenty of decent fixings. If not if you're that worried attach a strong chain/wire to it inside if it falls off just drag it with you lol. Just kidding. But yeah, I've been looking at materials and for cost I think aluminium is best. I'd worry using plastic and flying stones could just crack if it's a rigid board. Although I'm still at the idea and being tempted phase. What's the best opinion on material choices?
  2. Anymore in the progress with this? I'm considering doing a similar thing. Was also planning on making my own diffuser from rear axle back.
  3. Very nice! Also yeah I know. I had a puncture from a screw in my side wall and had to get an emergency tire on. Don't worry it'll be sorted soon enough though. Did have p zero all round when I got it but previous owner had torn a bit in all the sides, mot was coming and had to replace the lot. I'm looking to change rims soon anyway as 20" are nice to look at but that's about it.
  4. Hello I've looked. But can't find any posts on any advice on using a z for track day use. I'm considering it, but just like to know a few things from anyone who's experienced it. Like if it's worth it, running costs, what to watch out for, what needs upgrading and anything else really? My first question above all else really is about tyres. What is recommended; best performance, best budget, how long they last and just see what options to take really? I've got 20 inch rims on at the moment. they're heavy and no way would I use them for track days. I'm being lazy but knowing best rim size and tyre size too would be good. I'm guessing 17's right? Any answers would be appreciated. Or a slap in the right direction (sorry new on forum) Thanks.
  5. I meant tyres. My laptop is american and annoying.

  7. Thanks! I thought green would be nice. You normally see painted red or blue. I'm going to upgrade the brakes eventually. But a little time treating the car doesn't hurt, I guess.
  8. Just painted my callipers green. No I don't have brembo sadly, but I'm steadily putting more and more into it. Just interested to see what you all think really? Nice little Sunday job.
  9. New clutch is on the cards for track use, will ask nearer to the time. So thanks for that and the welcome!
  10. Hello, I'm Dom. I've looked at this forum a few times now. Then just now thought why not join, since I got my 350z last year. At first I saw it and thought hmm I like these. Then I bought it, Drove it home, then didn't want to get out. My last car was a Mitsubishi GTO twin turbo. Looked the part but was kinda cumbersome. So I went for a still kind of heavy N/A instead. lol But it's just so fun to drive and that exhaust note is amazing. The one I got was an ex write off cat D. Import with just over 60k on clocks. I got it for a fair price. The guy who sold it to me said he thinks it is a nismo. It's not, it's a pretty alright replica. I've been changing a few bits as I go, as I think that's what makes a car more personally your own and doing some maintenance. I remember first time taking the door card off and thinking wow that's pretty solid with a 100 nuts to undo. But it's the things like that, that are special I guess. (window motor replacement was needed) I'm really thinking of taking it on track days as I doubt I'll ever really gain on selling it with it's previous insurance write off. There's a dent in the rear quarter. I'll look into sorting that. But really at the end of the day I would love to take it round a track. Another reason for joining was to ask if any of you have had much experience with this. My main concern as well is the rims. I've got 20" on it at the moment. For track use they'll have to be swapped for something lighter (both weight and tire cost) Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks. Going to spend some time looking through this forum now.
