  1. Afternoon guys. Thought I'd bump this rather than start a new one. Has anyone run a 350z with stock cats and an ARK GRiP exhaust at a track day, and if so did you have any noise limit issues? I'm looking specifically at MSV.
  2. I've got an ARK GRiP on mine, which seems to fit your sound requirements. It also looks great IMO. I'm running standard cats, and would say it's on the loud-ish side but far from offensive, so would probably be what you're after with a louder cat set up.
  3. Might as well stick a recent pic in here, even though it looks the same as a couple of years ago...
  4. As Rabbitstew mentioned, you need to check for the 2 airboxes under the bonnet (or the 7500rpm redline) rather than assuming anything '07 or later is HR. I believe the oil burning issue was on the RevUp engines. The oil gallery gasket issue is one to look out for - that affects oil pressure rather than usage though. The gauge should be near the top when the engine is started from cold. I didn't realise this affected all HRs though - can anyone else confirm?
  5. Too OTT for my tastes. At the very least, make sure it's in keeping with the rest of your mods if you're going to do this - if the rest of your car is fairly standard or restrained, one of those stuck on the back will just look silly.

    MPS4s

Well I'm just about to get MPS4S fitted, so if they're crap I'm going to come back here and call Dan some rude names. I did manage to order the fronts in the wrong size, so not off to a great start but sadly I think that one's on me
  7. Pretty inevitable move really - cars are always getting more powerful and NA engines are all but a thing of the past in new cars. I liked the original GT86 a lot though - it was light and nimble, and had great steering.
  8. Some people will overreact and that is what it is, but I see it as my responsibility to tell them to calm down for everyone's benefit. Let's not turn a bad situation into a disaster.
  9. Remember when we thought the internet would make us all better informed?
  10. I feel a bit like this. Latest I'm hearing suggests that we're basically heading towards full on lockdown, and the only reason to do that is until a vaccine can be found or we achieve herd immunity, both of which will take a very long time. All I can say is that if we're going to completely destroy the economy (which will lead to a lot more sick people not being able to get healthcare) then this thing had better be a whole lot more serious than what I've heard so far. I can't help but worry that short term panic is the driving force here, but I don't claim to be an expert - I'm just trying to process the information available to me.
  11. Right, and yet loads of people are flapping and using it as an excuse to bash the government.
  12. Carry on as close to normal as possible. Observe good hygiene. Do what you can to protect the vulnerable. Don't panic buy. Don't go out if you get ill. Pretty standard stuff really.
  13. A measured response is what he's talking about, which your reply was not.
  14. I haven't heard anyone claiming it's not as bad as the flu. The truth appears at the moment to be that it's like the flu, but spreads faster and has a higher mortality rate. I have a feeling that the numbers aren't any where near being accurate though, as we haven't really got an accurate idea of how many people are infected. Maybe once it's 'bedded in' rather than this initial phase, we'll see a much slower spread and less people dying. It does feel like some people are embracing a level of panic that is not proportional to the scale of the problem. No doubt social media and the knock on effect that's had on the mainstream media is a large part of that.
  15. Very nice - I've always liked the E92. Another car that will go in my large garage if I ever make my millions...
  16. Hi, and welcome. Buy what you can afford - you don't want to stretch to a ropey HR only for something to go wrong that you can't afford to fix. They're pretty reliable cars but nothing's 100% bulletproof. Also consider how much you want to modify it. I don't think there's much point getting an HR if you're planning to go forced induction for example. Good luck with the search!
  17. I really can't get used to how the C8 looks. I think it's partly because Corvettes just shouldn't be mid-engined
  18. Thanks guys. I'll take a look at Ultimate Finish.
  19. Welcome John. There are much worse cars to be addicted to
  20. I was planning to get a C6 Corvette Z06, but no need now as I'm not staying. I am in NY but was going to move up to Westchester so I could have a car. You don't need a car as long as you don't mind never leaving the city, but that's not my style.
  21. I've been living in the US for the last two years and nearly sold the zed, but in the end managed to hold onto it with some help from my mum who's looked after it while I'm abroad. I was planning to stay out here for a while longer and would have almost definitely sold it had I done so, but now I'm due to come back in a few weeks so instead I'm going to spend a bit on some upgrades I've always fancied an older R8 and it might still happen one of these days, but I don't see myself selling the zed any time soon so I would have to be in a position where I can afford (and have space for) two impractical cars, which I'm working on.
  22. Hi guys, I'm looking to get a full paint detail (paint correction + ceramic coating etc.) and was looking for recommendations in the South East - I live in Orpington so anywhere that's not a complete mission from there would be good. If anyone has any then I'd be very grateful! Thanks!
  23. Get the Ultima... I bet those things are absolutely crazy to drive
  24. So how much power are you insured for?
