  1. As far as your concerned, as person in the industry.
  2. Problem with supermarket fuels is the winter and summer additives. Supermarkets buy fuel when its cheap, store and sell all year round. Selling summer fuel in the winter brings its own issues, this is what we've found in past years in the leasing industry for regular octane fuel. Whether this buying model is carried over to the 99ron is doubtful, as its a different supplier completely to Tesco's regular 95ron.
  3. Good luck finding a new DE. Picking up contaminated fuel obviously out of ones control, I'd personally would rather it not happen and could do without the hassle. A forecourt could say go away and prove the fuel sourced from this station caused the engine fault. Prove that those decats and remap *declared to insurance, plugs that have never been changed weren't the cause of the engine letting go. Does the engine have full vat registered garage service history, helping to indicate it's overall health. Stands a chance a fair few cars on the forum would fail on some of those points alone. Yes we know those wouldn't directly cause an engine to let go, possibly proving it is another thing. Then if the forecourt insist you pay for a fuel sample to be sent off. Independent engineers report on the cause of the engine failure. Yes in long run you'd get an engine rebuild. By a specialist? Maybe, maybe not. Overheating issues afterwards as the cooling system can be a pain to do. Misfire at high rpm as dmf been put on a bolt pattern out? Again I'd rather not have the hassle but everyone's different right.
  4. That would bother me massively to go through the hassle of a blown engine. Going back to a fuel station, cup in hand with a fuel receipt for a modified car.
  5. Possibly fuel technology since 2003 has improved somewhat and back then only 97ron was readily available. Today in 2019, I'd say even Morrisons super unleaded is going to be fine in our Zeds. Be hard pushed to notice and performance gains from either other than as mentioned above mpg differences over long runs.
  6. @JamesT2992 goes he gets noticeably better commuting mpg with v power compared to momentum.
  7. Real nice work and makes a big difference having clear lens. I would recommend clear coating or clear wrapping to maintain the look!!
  8. It's that time of year again. Routine oil and filter change, she also was in need of front discs and pads as Silverstone had permanently hurt the old set up. Mileage 84272 Thought it made sense to combine jobs, time to run up the engine from cold and draining the old oil allowed for partial replacement of the brakes. Not only did I again lower the O/S of the car to aid with oil drainage, but purged out the old oil by pouring in fresh oil with the sump plug removed. Yes this felt very odd, but worked as it help push the old stuff out as seen below. Magnetic sump plug found practical nothing, which I guess is a good thing. First time round after 12 months found swarf, but makes sense that it wouldn't so much there after on a maintained engine. Then a couple of weeks ago, the forums local legend @350Butcher hooked me up with replacing the compression arms. Went with the Moog option from Torqen. The N/S although didn't look terrible nor would cause concern during an MOT, over uneven surfaces made a right racket. Now feeling, sounding and braking spot on again.
  9. These are great if the zed isn't a 365 daily driver https://www.amazon.co.uk/CTEK-MXS-5-0-Reconditions-Motorcycle/dp/B00FC42HAA
  10. Real nice car pal and don't worry about those two above. I really like the exterior styling and at a glance looks like an Advan sponsored car!!! Any exhaust sound clips or track time vids? Donington is the best track I've had the 350z on, loved it.
  11. I've cleaned mine and don't believe you can clean it out fully without moving the throttle butterfly. Problems folks have is carrying out the reset procedure afterwards on a cold engine, that just won't work for obvious reasons. Warmed engine, I disconnected the battery for 30mins then began to clean out. Reconnect battery and began all three resets *engine still warm. That was just the way I did mine.
  12. Great result and welkom to the forum
  13. Magic mate, excited isn't close to conveying ones emotion. Is it march yet?......
  14. Can't want to have a nose round when I pop by soon
  15. Folks with a 06+ could buy a pair, then sell their Nissan ones and make money whilst enjoying a fresh new look
  16. I personally do use the steering controls and love the look of the OE wheel, so went with the retrimmed option in alcantra
