  1. Happy to be shown a link to the exact ethanol content of both fuels.......
  2. Reading up on GTR forum, fair few owners report knock after filling up with momentum reportedly due to the higher ethanol rating and its characteristics towards water absorption. Of course that's not to say it would happen every time you filled up with momentum, however noted more often compared to V power going by owners who found the need to post. Knock would be caused by lower RON, lower RON would be caused by phased separation due to higher water content
  3. I'd say all things being equal, you're likely to pick up a dodgy tank of momentum than V power. Far fewer outlets of Tesco 99ron, meaning it'll most probably sit there for longer compared to Shell with a higher turn over of customer 'for' V power. Logically if Shell are shifting more V power than momentum, obviously the tanks are being replenished more often. Don't have stats just solely going on the number of outlet I see here in the Midlands. Places whatever the industry tend to have more outlets, when serving more customers.
  4. https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/askhj/answer/28321/shell-v-power-and-tesco-momentum-99 Good enough for me
  5. Or just use the best stuff where possible
  6. MPS4 will still be a good shout https://www.blackcircles.com/catalogue/michelin/pilot-sport-4/245/40/R19/Y/98/m?tyre=35790912&gclid=Cj0KCQiAn4PkBRCDARIsAGHmH3fMnRkS-3dHs4Wjjt4F2H_oZ3Ow0YnIY9Tf45QVUeTp-33m5PWp-i8aAlhkEALw_wcB
  7. 100% - got some new gear between us and a pro to sort us out
  8. He asks me about most of it Tidy work Martin, will all pair lovely with that new crank pulley too. You going for knive edge?
  9. Nah, I often see a roadster in blue about on Cov rd.
  10. Not @Killick.z MK1 Nismo at Caffeine and Machine last night
  11. Certainly looks better and even if the drive felt unchanged its a win imo. I added Tein springs and wheel spacers pretty much straight away, however a slightly firmer ride and wider track would make a more stable car.
  12. As far as your concerned, as person in the industry.
  13. Problem with supermarket fuels is the winter and summer additives. Supermarkets buy fuel when its cheap, store and sell all year round. Selling summer fuel in the winter brings its own issues, this is what we've found in past years in the leasing industry for regular octane fuel. Whether this buying model is carried over to the 99ron is doubtful, as its a different supplier completely to Tesco's regular 95ron.
  14. Good luck finding a new DE. Picking up contaminated fuel obviously out of ones control, I'd personally would rather it not happen and could do without the hassle. A forecourt could say go away and prove the fuel sourced from this station caused the engine fault. Prove that those decats and remap *declared to insurance, plugs that have never been changed weren't the cause of the engine letting go. Does the engine have full vat registered garage service history, helping to indicate it's overall health. Stands a chance a fair few cars on the forum would fail on some of those points alone. Yes we know those wouldn't directly cause an engine to let go, possibly proving it is another thing. Then if the forecourt insist you pay for a fuel sample to be sent off. Independent engineers report on the cause of the engine failure. Yes in long run you'd get an engine rebuild. By a specialist? Maybe, maybe not. Overheating issues afterwards as the cooling system can be a pain to do. Misfire at high rpm as dmf been put on a bolt pattern out? Again I'd rather not have the hassle but everyone's different right.
  15. That would bother me massively to go through the hassle of a blown engine. Going back to a fuel station, cup in hand with a fuel receipt for a modified car.
  16. Possibly fuel technology since 2003 has improved somewhat and back then only 97ron was readily available. Today in 2019, I'd say even Morrisons super unleaded is going to be fine in our Zeds. Be hard pushed to notice and performance gains from either other than as mentioned above mpg differences over long runs.
  17. @JamesT2992 goes he gets noticeably better commuting mpg with v power compared to momentum.
