  1. Not a fan to be honest. Ruins the lines of the car. Something more subtle may work better. To my eyes you have a car with nice curved lines and then a very angular spoiler.
  2. WARNING! Thought I recognised the plate. That car is also on sale on Autotrader (Manchester) for £11,585
  3. Be careful if you go to a Z meet - Zeditus is highly contagious. Avoid at all costs if you want your wallet to remain healthy : ) First mod is an exhaust …..
  4. £5 a pint!!! Must be Essex prices? Cheaper beer for us up North.
  5. More people hard up, more people out of work = more people to drink in Wetherspoons. I went in one the other week after my daughter raved about how good value it was. I did not find it 'that' cheap but it was certainly nasty.
  6. I failed already. Promised myself that I was going to keep my 350Z completely standard but had a Cobra Resonated exhaust fitted yesterday. Wanted something louder than stock but not crazy loud (being an old git) so went for the resonated half system and it is just right. Sounds great when you get your foot down and really brings out the V6 character. Worth every penny : )
  7. Mine were pretty scratched up when I got my Nismo but managed to easily hand polish out with some Megs restorer (similar to T cut). Perfect finish.
  8. Chances are that if you ask politely and explain you are worried about damp because you have already had some, then they will just move it. They probably just stacked it there without even thinking...
  9. Why oh why did they choose Shmee for a launch review. I was forced to watch it. Why does he have to show his face all the time.
  10. The last car that I thought was groundbreaking enough for me to part with my cash for a brand new one was the Mazda RX8 - way back in 2004. Shame it did not work out to be as brilliant as it could have been but still.
  11. Remember that there are 2 DE versions, the later one being Revup. This was late 2006 and was a facelift version with the improved bumpers, lights, interior etc. My 370z's had lots of low down torque but a bit thrashy at the top end so tended to use the torque and upshift early. My 350z Revup feels like it has less torque but really takes off at 4000 rpm and sounds lovely. The Revup is in the high tax bracket, late 2006, but who cares : ) Edit: Although my current 350z seems to have less torque than my previous 370Z's I have owned an RS3 in the meantime so anything may feel slower compared to that
  12. Unfortunately I don't like the look of the 350Z roadster - shame because when I was looking I was offered a couple of really tidy low mileage ones. I do however like the 370Z roadster so I am the opposite to rabbitstew. The interior on the 370Z is better than the 350Z but later 350Z's do have a much improved interior - 350Z DE Revup and HR. Some Revup's burn a little oil but with low miles and regular checks this would not be an issue. Personally I prefer the more classic lines of the 350Z so ended up buying a very low mileage Revup. It is 100% original but will probably add an exhaust. The 350Z in my opinion has a better engine note, sounds more like the V6 it is and is less thrashy at the top end.
  13. Just in the process of my annual insurance shop around. So far lowest quotes are through LV, Hastings Direct and Saga. Saga is lowest premium and lowest excess until you add modifications - my 350Z is currently standard but not sure how long I can resist putting an exhaust on it. Will probably end up using LV. Currently with Admiral - £500 for my two cars last year, wanting £860 this year. I don't think so ...
  14. Just to be different in 2019 - I am planning on not changing any of my cars! A few months ago I bought the lowest mileage and cleanest 350Z I could find. It has spent quite a lot of its life in storage and is completely standard. I really want to keep it as standard but my biggest 'challenge' of 2019 will be to resist the temptation to modify in any way. As well as attending shows and driving for fun, I will spend 2019 doing any little jobs on the car to get it as good as it can be although don't have the time or inclination for concours standard. So far it has had a full service and fluids change and health check from my trusted garage. Also had new tyres sine the rears were cheap garbage - brand new but clearly put on to pass MOT - and new fronts because they were original tyres (2006). Next job is to get the car in the air, clean underneath and add rust protection. No signs of any so far but want to keep it that way.
  15. 2018 Kia Sportage 1.6T petrol for me - GT Line obviously. Drives very nicely but still a real treat to get back in the Zed.
  16. Or just scrap the whole thing and never speak of it again.
  17. First thing I would change is the number plate advertising the 'dodgy dealer'.
  18. Is this something that gets worse over time and can it cause damage longer term? How much would it cost to put right? May be worth getting an expert opinion so you can get it sorted by the 'dealer' while under warranty. Plenty of experts on here of course but if I were you I would want someone to have a proper listen and confirm that it is indeed the thrust bearing and not something else. Maybe there is a mechanically minded Z owner near you who could help?
  19. So £2K to get it to work - then pull the fuse so it doesn't work. I'd be feeling faint too. I hope someone has a work around for you, that cost is just insane.
  20. Well put Docwra - could not agree more! My business operates in the science sector which is already struggling and we have not left the EU yet.
  21. Ouch!! I pay around £500 total for my 2 cars but will try LV to see if I can get better. One of the few advantages of being 55.
  22. I'm afraid that those ends not being cut straight would play havoc with my OCD.
  23. The sedan RS3 is the facelift one and considerably quieter than the pre facelift one with sport exhaust. I went from a Nismo to the RS3 and the difference in performance is huge. But I just want a toy for weekends and so just went for the cleanest 350Z I could find. It feels a bit retro after the RS which I like and love the lines of the 350.
  24. I have recently gone from a 2016 RS3 to a 2006 350Z. No regrets whatsoever. The RS3 was amazingly fast but apart from the fabulous engine note not that involving - also way too easy to hit license losing speeds. My previous 350Z was the car I have enjoyed the most in the last few years so I bought another. Nice healthy bank account now too, but please don't tell the wife
  25. Very nice - love the Sunset Orange. All being well I will be picking up a 350Z on Monday and re-joining the fold. Cheshire member too.
