  1. EcoTouch are starting to make their mark on my goto list...
  2. Cheers Jumping, been looking at mixed reviews of solar OBD2 connected trickle chargers, not entirely convinced. I'll just whip it out instead.
  3. Will do, ta. Next time I'll put a bit more time into prepping them too. There was a really runny tyre shine in a waxybox a few boxes ago, forgot which one it was sadly as although it went everywhere when I was applying it, the shine stayed for ages. Edit: Think it was Eco Touch tyre shine.
  4. If it wasn't for a house purchase I'd be all over this, it's a hair's breadth away from being a fabulous, unique Jag. Hope you find a good home for her.
  5. It still beads, but there's no glossy look. Used it on MPSS. Prep was minimal, I got the tyres wet and gave 'em a rub. That said, I don't normally prep my tyres before applying anything to them.
  6. Cheers G. That battery (which I think might have been the original from 2004) has been consigned to the [insert legal disposal method] and I've got a new shiny one. I'm just wanting to keep her brimmed whilst I'm away, it was PITA last time, so I was hoping a little trickle top up might be perfect. I've found a couple that charge through the OBD2 port, which sounds scary, but is also quite an elegant solution to keeping it low key and relatively out of sight.
  7. I got a plate to hide the age, searched for the cheapest one I could find. My initials are SAS so they were all super steep so I just settled for a V6 prefix and went from there. I think it does a great job of taking years off her, I've had a couple of people assume it's 20-30k of car and nearly new (they've not seen the interior scractches mind ) I'll probably leave it on when I sell it (unless the next one is a 10 year old V6 too...
  8. Gonna revive this rather than start a new one for just a quick question. Last time I went on holiday, I came back to a flat battery after a week. I'm away soon for 3 weeks, so want to take precautions. Most people seem to rate the CTEK stuff, so that should be an easy first option, but has anyone got a solar conditioner? The problem is, the car is not parked in the sort of place where I'd like to leave it plugged into the mains. So I'm thinking, solar charger in the boot will be out of sight and also able to be connected up permanently whilst I'm away. The other option is to whip the battery out and just have it plugged in in the garage. Is there anything to fear about her sitting there without a battery for 3 weeks, other than losing my carefully tuned settings on the head unit? Ta.
  9. Seems good to me, less than I pay and with less excess. Dealio.
  10. Anyone tried the Gyeon Tyre "Protecterant"? Put it on last week, had a spirited drive in the rain and it's vanished.
  11. If I hadn't already taken the plunge id be after one of these, they look decent and the ability to live view via your phone is handy when you're setting it up. Parking mode is great too and seems to be a must with the number of rents, scrapes and dings people are posting.
  12. With black wheels on a black zed I'd do for a polished/coloured lip. Otherwise you'll just have invisible wheels IMO.
  13. Excellent, thanks for the tips on those. Do they feel nice and secure? Must admit it's gonna feel weird sticking a decent gadget on a pole and dangling out a moving car or boat! Nice bit of lateral thinking on the telescopic paint roller
  14. The DCS store is fantastic, thanks for the tip Dan (not that my credit card will thank you ) you can do £150 in there in the blink of an eye I've got an old case, but it's storing an old camera - can't bear to chuck away something that works. I'm gonna need a suitcase just for toys at this rate...
  15. Sweet, two birds with one stone. What do you store it in?
  16. Got my GoPro for Florida road trip next month so now I need to spend the same again on accessories What I am after is suggestions for any/all of the following: - A big pole (ooo err) to stick it on. This must be telescopic and solid, I don't want to be fishing my unit out of a 'gator infested swamp. Or getting too close to Gentle Ben. - A proper suction mount. As as above, must REALLY stick on to stuff like airboats, Camaros or highly polished skulls. - A polarising filter that stays on and cuts glare and gives nice blue skies. - Anyone bought the battery extender? Any better than just buying a few spare batteries? - A shortish "grip" to hold it steady, but close to my face so I can see what I'm shooting. - A rugged carry case. - Anything else you have got/used that you find invaluable. If you could put a link in too, I'd get all moist. Thanks.
  17. You're right, it was time for a change.
  18. God only knows, non-petrolheads aren't easy to understand
  19. If you could grab a Win 7 disc off a mate, you could install it on VirtualBox/Parallels WITHOUT using their licence key, this would give you 30 days of access before it demanded you pay for it. Edie - scratch that, you don't even need to borrow a disc to run a 90 day trial http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/evalcenter/evaluate-windows-8-1-enterprise
  20. The scooby is out for reasons unknown, possibly snobbishness. The Focus is low on the list, really just on there as I fancy a test drive. If I was a betting man I'd say Mazda or Seat at this stage... Thanks all for your comments, no progress on this as my mate's sunning himself in Budapest.
  21. Nah den dee 'ows dar? along mate, get some pics up of the beast.
