I'd love it if there's a team of geeks churning out a use case for every single conceivable road related event: Scenario 1 - Pedestrian forgets to look before crossing Scenario 2 - Car in front slams all on . Scenario 44,765 - A tree is struck by lightning and falls across the road . . Scenario 8,125,245 - An extreme sports enthusiast is zorbing on the hillside next to the road and at the bottom of the slope there's a trade show for giant trampolines... I'm quite excited by the prospect of driverless cars, it'll remove people who have absoletly no interest in driving from driving and the new driver won't get distracted by a girl in a tight dress, or a particularly cute cat, or a billboard advertising a sale at ShopX, or get tired or bored, or re-apply eye liner, or urgently need to tweet that it just saw that-guy-from-that-thing-on-the-TV-last-year walking down the street The google driverless cars (I think there's about ten of them on the roads of California at any one point) have done over 700,000 miles accident free. They can "see" in 360 degrees and track hundreds of objects all at once. Sadly it is reported to be extremely capable at spotting cyclists too

Continuing my de-redding and carboning-up of some parts of the engine bay, samco intake went and in came evo-r intake tube. Before: After: That's the last of the carbon and also probably changes in the engine bay, unless a nice catch can comes along...

I think it looks ok? The new intake tube was maybe 1cm shorter than the previous, so it was bit of stretch at the top for the silicone coupler to be tight on the throttle body and the tube, but I think it's got there in the end. Not quite the 15 minutes I was lead to believe If anything looks weird or wrong, please do shout now, I need to drive her tomorrow! Thanks for your comments

Stuck the GoPro underneath to see if anything could be seen or heard. You can hear the almost continuous rattle - it's driving me nuts. Definitely somewhere underneath or around the area between the passenger seat and the engine. Any answers on the non-rattle related oily bit appreciated too

This is very interesting. Does kitchen aluminium foil work too, or just tin based? Yes, it does - It's actually aluminium foil you need, I'm not sure I've ever actually seen tin foil before?! The aluminium is softer than steel, so it will not scratch the surface, it's non abrasive. Rust is metal that has taken on extra oxygen atoms (oxidation) and the aluminium leeches the oxygen atoms away from the rust, breaking it down. A by product of this is also a fine metal polishing compound consisting of the resultant aluminium oxide mixed with the water you're using to lubricate. I've used this many times, it's cheap and awesome! I love this place. Always something new to learn thanks ts. Check out this vid on the same theme, but with a magical ingredient...

Got a shiny new CF intake pipe to go in, straight swap for what's in there, with OEM airbox and MAF retained. This is the sort of "add on job" my tech would usually do when the Zed's in for something else, but it looks like a fairly straightforward job so I figure I'll break out my sockets and get a tan. Is changing the intake pipe as straightforward as it appears, anything I need to be mindful of when I'm hitting it with a hammer after it has all come to pieces? Thanks, Stu.

Given the car is about a mile long and half a mile wide, I'm at a loss as to why the boot is so small However, it seemed positively cavernous in comparison to the boot in the convertible Mustangs soft bags, rather than solid suitcases are a must. If I was being sensible, I'd go for an SUV but I can't resist a convertible in the sunshine.

Snap! I'm in Florida for a road trip for three weeks in September too. Reserved exact model via the Hertz Adrenaline Collection (but reservation made months ago), got a convertible Camaro which JUST takes three men and luggage (if you don't mind a bag on one of the back seats while the top is down). I don't need an ITDP but I got one anyway, a friend of mine got pulled in Nevada for misdemeanour speeding and Highway Patrol were happy with UK licence only, but as I said, I got one anyway. Most looking forward to driving the Oversea Highway, the 'glades and also a trip around the pan handle to New Orleans. Gonna watch the Miami Dolphins (well mainly their cheerleaders ) too. Have fun, keep an eye out for us in the Camaro. It was up in the air last week, flexis are fine. I'm convinced it's between the seats and the engine. Alternatively could it be the DMF on its last legs?

I've got a rattle which appears about 1300 rpm and either stops or is drowned out by the exhaust at higher revs. It diminishes when she warms up but doesn't go, clutch position makes no difference. It's not cats or cat heat shields or back of the cats, definitely forward of the seats. It's a high pitched metallic rattle? I had a look in the bay, but couldn't see anything obvious. Any ideas? Thanks.
