So this lot has been a while getting on to The Shark, and I was so excited I forgot to take any decent pics during the install Cruised over to Grinspeed in Leyland to get: - Eibach ARBs and Whiteline Drop Links fitted (thank you Torqen) - Tein S Springs & Billstein B6 Dampers fitted (thank you Clark Motorsport) - re-trimmed wheel fitted (thank you Jack Royal) - some other stuff there wasn't time for today and will wait until my next Service. - one last thing, nailed the MOT as well, no advisories I also got see what happens on the inside oily bits when a Civic eats its own gearbox, which was both educational and very impressive (in a strange way) at the same time. Big thanks to Lee & Stevie at Grinspeed, for the service, bantz, education and brews - they are fantastic. If you're north west, go see them. All shiny and new and colourful at the back Sorry for the rubs pic, but it is was the only I could get with everything squeezed in, up front. Coincidentally, the road where I made my mind up to do the suspension mods was only a short detour on the way home, so I had a small chance to see what's what. Sadly it's a hurricane outside today so it was only a glimpse. Looking forward to a crisp, dry, cold day sometime soon for further testing. All was not lost though. The tricky repetitive stretch of B-road bumps which convinced me to make the changes were just as bumpy as before, but the car never felt like it was about to bounce off and waft away. It felt fresher, a little firmer and more positive. As I've broken all the rules and changed a number of handling components all at once, I couldn't possibly say with any scientifcness (it's a word, look it up) what has done what to what, but I'm guessing the Billis helped with the bumps and the ARBs with the going round bendy bits (stop me if my race track talk gets too technical ). It might simply be putting in new and getting rid of old OEM stuff (11 years) that makes the difference. The Shark has spent a bit of it's life (before me) just standing around, which I don't think helps these bits - it just felt newerer all round on the way home, even factoring in my thoughts on self-justifying the not insignificant outlay. Then another bit I've been looking forward to for some time now, the bit you use nearly every time you drive. The wheel is such a nice lift to the cockpit, it brings it a little more up-to-date and the extra girth is very pleasing in the palm - ooo err. Not having shiny flat leather is a real treat, as are the thumb holders. I'd urge anyone to get their wheel re-trimmed if they want a mod to appreciate every day - just got to keep it in this condition now. Very pleasing day all in all, nearly cured my Zeditus entirely. The only downside is that although the headunit controls are tickety boo, the Cruise Control has gone on strike, which I didn't notice until I was on the motorway home - any ideas anyone?

Does Matt have to be so surprised that a nicely modified Zed can be a great balance of fun, grunt, grip, balance and daily drive-ability? Cool vid. I wish that drive was my commute

I don't think it falls under political correctness gone mad but it is certainly nanny state gone mad. The increase in frequency of creating legislation has gone berserk in the last 30 years. Particularly the knee jerk stuff. A plane is flown into a moutain by a madman, new regulations are rushed out. Obesity is on the rise, new labelling and rules on advertising are dished out. Vaping expands exponentially, restrictions are dreamed up. To name a few of the most recent hot topics. It's not one particular party or another, it's a change in culture; partly IMO due to the explosion in instant, always on access to media and the associated opinions and also an abdication of responsiblity away from the person. "I did X, it was wrong, I knew it, but it was because of Y. I am a victim too, Where's my compo from Q?" Event A happens, initial outrage/concern, person/people group B are found to be responsbile, people in charge of regulating environment where Event A occurred are under enourmous pressure to react and/or legislate or be labelled "soft on A". The excitement around legal highs is a classic contemporary example, no one can just say no to them and be responsilbe for thier own decisions, it needs a law to be made for each new one that appears, or the government is "soft on drugs". Next time there's an election, watch out for the dramatic increase in "public service/awareness advertising", reminding people how good a job the government is doing. Between Q4 2014 and Q1 2015, advertising spending by some departments rocketed from £2m pcm to £10m pcm. That's not a dig at the Tory/Lib Dem coalition, because this is a cross-party issue and something that's sadly here to stay.

Hope it wasn't this - http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00A3S1RGU/ref=pe_385721_37038051_TE_dp_1#productDetails I buffed my lights to near perfection and hoped it would do the trick, but they've started to go again Going for an expensive gtechniq effort next. Yeah it is, ok....my lights aren't that bad, hopefully it might work!? I'd suggest doing at least a couple of coats, with a suitable curing time in between - good luck

It does say to put it in the petrol tank not the intake, or have I been drastically misusing it "Hi I'm Troy McClure, you might remember me from such fuel additives as, "Turbo Jizz, 50bhp in just one squirt" and my self help programme, "Get confident stupid!". It is so easy to use, just pour 1 bottle into your fuel tank before filling up with petrol. 1 bottle will treat 40 - 60 litres of petrol. Recommended dosage is one bottle every 2000 miles to keep your fuel system at its best. A week before your MOT, use a bottle of Catalytic Converter Cleaner to help your car pass the emissions test."

I think the obvious answer is it's easier to hide in a big organisation than a little one. If an Indy owner is more likely to have eyes on his business then there's no place for a slacker to hide, whether that slacker has loads/no experience. I don't think anyone is carpet stating literally everyone at a stealer is rubbs, there's a few good comments on here about dealers, just on balance Indy's seem to have the right spirit and can't be complacent that the middle class mafia will keep coming back time after time after time just simply because it's a main dealer - regardless of price and customer service. The other element in my mind is that your average Nissan dealer (non performance place) probably sees one 350/370/GTR for every 500 micras, so they just don't enough trigger time on the big muscle.
