  1. I've just had this lot fitted: EBC front & rear discs (standard ones) EBC Yellow stuff pads RBF600 brake fluid Hosetechnik braided brake lines (MPSS just slung on a week or two ago as well) I did the fronts a couple of weeks ago and followed ZMANALEX's bedding in procedure, I'll need to do it again this evening now that the rears are on as well... But the pedal at the top of travel still feels a bit too spongy to me. Braking is definitely a crap load better once your on them, and in fact I seem to be able to trigger the ABS very quickly which seems a bit odd (?). Any idea how to get a firmer feel to them ? Ah just spotted this thread: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/71520-brake-pedal-feel/page__hl__spongy
  2. I've just been out seeing how my new brakes are through some back roads... held the phone very stable, very good grip in the vent, doesn't feel like it would damage it at all (this is with the Breffo thing).
  3. Excellent stuff. Any idea where I can get the 4-piece Summit Underbody Bracing Kit ?
  4. http://www.euro-spec2000.co.uk/ I've been using these chaps on/off since 2003, they are local to me and I can definitely recommend them for any work you need doing. They've just fitted new discs, pads, lines, clutch line, break and clutch fluid, and oil change - so I'm off to get some heat cycles into the new discs EDIT: I've decided to use other recommended places now (Kaizer/Abbey/TGM). Some of the work was good, some of it wasn't (ex: crushed brake pipe). A couple of guys that work there are very competent though.
  5. Many thanks again Ewen, fantastic dealing with you - I appreciate you calling and arranging things with my garage, hugely impressed
  6. The Breffo Spiderpodium is great !
  7. I got my one at H-Dev, fits underneath the brace no problem - you have some washers in the kit that give the extra space where it bolts to the car. If you've already done those other things, it only makes sense to help this part out as well - it's all breathing modifications after all...
  8. Does it get triggered by the car being knocked, or only working when you are driving ?
  9. It will help if you have the valves reseated and the head skimmed at the same time We just put an engine in that had the head skimmed valves reseated (no porting) block was honed and new rings - really noticeable power improvement the torque is back all the way up the power band. Just out of curiosity, as I personally would rather spend the money on chassis improvements to get the available power down properly BUT - how much off the top of your head does a job like that cost ? (ported/polished/valves etc etc)
  10. Congratulations ! I'd opt for a Ferrari FF, or if on a budget a Scaglietti 612
  11. I'm going to try that little spider thing, I NEED to see the screen, not just leave it somewhere random.
  12. How stable is that Breffo Spiderpodium ? I really need something in the car for phone sat nav/mp3's. The other thing I keep hearing about is a Brodit clip or something ?
  13. What was the benefit of fitting this ? (apart from looking cool )
  14. I can't at the moment but potentially next month or start of June, good idea
  15. Something I see, even on some of the most popular car youtube channels that drives me freaking nuts... when they have the gopro in the car, they have the exposure set completely wrong - so that all you can see if it's sunny outside is the cabin, and the outside world nearly just white. Of course this is great if you just want to view someone's driving control but 99% of the time it's because they haven't set the exposure (there are some apps you can do this with now, or just set it to central spot metering, and ensure it's pointing outside properly )
  16. Awesome thread mate I'm interested in some of the goodies you've put on your car as well, I'll only be doing about 3 or 4 track days a year but a couple of things I'd be keen to do. I think I'd do that gearbox mount when I have my clutch flywheel done, and potentially the shortshifter - however, I'm guessing the standard knob won't fit afterwards ?
  17. Well since Dan didn't outline any specifics it's fair to assume he wants an everyday tyre. If they are good enough for mates with carrera gt's et al - then they are good enough ('best' all round imho) for those kind of cars, good enough for 350z At least nobody recommended Bridgestones, fooking awful things
  18. There are about 10000 posts saying MPSS... So yeah, 4x MPSS Fresh set on my car now, feels great !
  19. Appreciate the comments, I really just wanted to see if it was about the right amount of time. (as I said, I'll pay whatever it is, no problem) Booked in now, once again, appreciate comments - the garage I use is local (unfortunately Abbey/H-Dev are a bit out of my way), and I've used them on/off since 2004.
  20. I should add, they were new, just some cheap ones from ebay. They are still working over a year later but not particularly good, and nor were the ones I replaced.
  21. When drying (get a Chemical Guys 'Wooly Mammoth' Drying Towel), use a quick detailer as well, usually AG or Megs in Halfords will do the job (AG seems to work better for me, also Kuro). Doubt you've damaged it, don't worry Have a watch of these videos if you've not checked them out before:
