If you can live with the dated interior (although still a nice place to be) why not look at a low mileage B7 RS4/RS4 avant & supercharge it. You'll be left with an absolute belter of a car but still have good reliability

If it's a street car go for 19's. As said if your going for dish 19's will aid this. I have always had 19's on the zed & would say the ride is more than acceptable.

Do you mean she struggles with the throw or the slight resistance you have to overcome to get into reverse? My mothers car was very stiff to overcome when she bought it but over time it's freed up lots. Can only assume the first owner never used reverse much. My mother is only 5,2" and has arthritis in the shoulder so don't let it put you off too much.

Not sure if the budget stretches but the cooper s at £4995 would be a better long termer IMO if it's in good nick. My mother had a 56 cooper before she bought her cooper s & they are far better to drive.

Bearing maybe any vibration through the wheel at all? Maybe exhaust but that would happen in any gear at any speed at 2500rpm

In terms of styling I think they've gone backwards. It looks full as any other rep mobile. Price to pay to trying to appeal to the masses I guess! I also feel the same with the new xf although I have yet to see one in the flesh.

Ordered rear discs & pads for the family wagon from Clark Motorsport. After a bit of a run around from the supplier delaying delivery Ewen jumped in the van as soon as he received them & personally delivered the items so that I could get the car to the garage on time to have them replaced. Thanks again Ewen
