  1. Mint, low mileage fabia VRS with money to spare for a remap and rear arb etc. you will get 50mpg no problem & if you can find one with heated seats & cruise ( which can be retrofitted for peanuts) then you have a belter of an alto under. I still miss mine. Far far better than the Audi a3 I replaced it with

Is this just a powdercoat or a diamond cut on the lip? They did a good job if that is a powdercoat Its a powdercoat...theyre great guys, what impressed me was the enthusiasm they showed and the pride they showed in their profession. Nice to see. It wasnt about getting the car in and out, it was about doing a good job. Ive been holding out to get mine diamond cut but you really wouldnt know the difference looking at that. Any ides on the colour they went for?

  7. Saw a gleaming blue one at tesco bellshill last weekend reg ended FRK I think. Same one?
  8. Google says yes http://www.sony.co.uk/support/en/content/cnt-specs/XAV-601BT/list Can also us sat nav from your phone
  9. Very touching. Makes a nice change. Now if only we could get rid of X factor Xmas no1!
  10. G60's yes. On the hunt for something nicer, ideally BBS RC 321's in 16" but they're hard to come by. Probably keep the steelies as winter.
  11. So I ended up buying the Lupo. So far so good although the wife seems to be away with the keys more ATM
  12. For me, aluminium panels, solid build quality, good residuals, xenons, six speed box, low mileage & its a VAG so plenty retro fit mods. Just a few. Not many good low mileage hatches for a grand that I can think of, none that aren't full of rot or made of tracing paper.
  13. So I've offered £3500 for the Lupo today. Just waiting to hear back. Offer is based on a second viewing as it was lashing it down when I first viewed it. He has other interest so I've left offer open for a little while but that's my top offer, see what happens.
  14. Trying to keep my search local'ish. I'd travel as far as Glasgow for the right car but in all honesty at this time of year & with everything else that's going on justnow I'd rather it was a car in or around Aberdeen. I know that's not doing me much good but hey I never thought the Lupo would come up for sale so close by.
  15. Yeah read that. Rear spoiler bubbles up too because the foam gets saturated. Just looked it up again 975kg kerb weight.
  16. Someone already has dibs on both golfs. He's selling most of his toys as his lad is into karting in a big way. Takes up all his time & money. Just under a ton I think Ekona
  17. It honestly drove well but ideally I'm looking for something that doesn't need work. The wife would probably kill me if I bought it then ended up spending hours sorting it that wasn't part of the deal! http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/used-cars/volkswagen/lupo/volkswagen-lupo-gti-125bhp-2004/2994385 Here she is. Also has a rear wiper delete so that's something else that would need attention.
  18. So took the Lupo out for a test run. Mechanically she was sound. Started first time on first turn over from cold, gearbox was slick although had a long throw which I wasn't expecting. Handled like a go kart but coilovers of which I couldn't see what brand and the owner couldn't tell me were overly firm. He did say they were 5-6 years old and showing signs of rust. Good service history & recent rear brakes. Bodywork overall for a ten year old car was good although the rear spoiler had the common blistering and the tail light never worked. Interior was in good order. The drivers window dropped ok but only managed to get it closed 40mins later at the end of the test so possible motor fault. Was after £3999 but open to sensible offers. Never made an offer yet as right now it's a maybe. I would have to change the suspension fairly soon and the rear spoiler, tail light & driver window needs attention. Would also be looking to find some original wheels for it as the G60's look too boy racer for my liking. At the moment I'm thinkng no more than £3500 if I offer although I would say he'd probably hold out for more. He also has two mk 2 golfs. One had a g60 engine the other a 1.8T. Also a Nissan GTR with 700hp and his wife's car of which the Lupo was has a clio 200 cup with full reacaro's and rare grey colour which I can't remember the name of!
  19. Going to view it tomorrow morning. Has a few things on it I'd rather it didn't. Rear wiper delete, G60 wheels, lowered on some form of coilovers & had the bubbling rear spoiler. The owner has been very honest so far so worth a viewing. Would return the car to near stock if I bought it. It's a 54 plate with only 53k on the clock so a six speed. See how it goes
  20. 182 hands down would be the betters drivers car & if a good one came up for sale real soon close by then I would go for one over the Lupo. Thinking longevity wise though the vw has better build quality, better residuals, cheaper tax blah blah so maybe a better owners prospect. It just so happens that an honest looking low mileage Lupo has came up for sale close by so hoping to view it in the next day or so. Would love a clio trophy but doesn't seem to be many of them for sale at all at the moment never mind trying to find a good one.
  21. You should expect sore triceps & a very sore stomach/six pack Forward movement is your friend. It will allow you to make turns so don't be tempted to wimp out when you feel your going too fast (which you will) linking turns will help you regulate your speed. You'll love it. I jumped I at the deep end & bought all the gear after one trip up to the leicht with my mates. That was 13 years ago & I still get away most years so it payed off for me. There is nothing better than finding a quite spot at the top of a mountain somewhere, bliss
  22. Been looking for a good clean clio 182 for a third/winter runaround. Missed out on a lovely low mileage gordini recently but been keeping my eye on Lupo GTI's for a while now. They seem to have a bit of a following so if you can find a decent low mileage example then values are solid. Maintenance should be cheap as it's a NA engined car and spares are plentiful. Seem to get good reviews too & personally I think they look great. Anyone had one or have friends who have owned one care to share experience.
