  1. Best colour. never noticed with frost before that it carries over to the door cards too. Looks lovely
  2. Sister & husband had one 1.6hdi sport for two years. Loved it. No problems & good mpg. Only traded in as they needed a five door.
  3. http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/nissan-qashqai-r-first-drive-2014-07-21 Looks like a monster. Wonder how much it costs??
  4. My 1.8 tonne (dry weight) BMW x3 3.0d m sport is quicker than my 350 in real world driving and not too far off on the twisties too. Nowhere near as fun tho and I have never seen more than 32 mpg on the trip instead of manufacturers stated 47mpg. I can get 28 out of the 350 if I so chose to. Diesels are atarting to sound better too. Mine has a nice grunt to it on the upper revs. Have you heard the Audi bi-turbo? In the A6 anyway it sounds more like the 4.2 v8 out of an RS car! As said already though don't think they will ever be as fun & involving as a good petrol sports car such as the 350.

    Lumpy

Does it have HFC's of aftermarket air intakes? My HR has the same but only since I fitted these mods.
  6. Reidline out at Kintore mate. Think its about £90/hr
  7. Once a year but this year the cars only done 800 miles between services
  8. Looks like I'm going to have to back out if this goes ahead soon. Just bought another house on Friday & have to get my own on the market. If this has not been done after things settle down then I'll be game still.
  9. Yep mines a 57 HR with less than 18k on the clock & is the same as you describe. There are no issues changing into any gears etc. I was curious when I bought it but soon found it to be perfectly normal....for a zed.
  10. Seriously. If your looking for reliability and real world mpg then I would at least take a test drive in a fabia VRS or a superb both with the proven 1.9 pdi engine. Bmw's are good cars but cost of repair is steep in comparison and your gonna be looking at an older car for the budget. No offends to anyone with a civic but I've driven a few & really don't rate them. The 2.2 Diesel engine is good but suits the Honda accord better. The civics suspension is overly firm for motorway mileage IMO. If skodas are really an absolute no then I'd be looking for a Mondeo, simples.

    Mini GTR

I used to have a Suzuki cappuccino. It was a great wee car. They are used overseas to replicate all sorts including Porsches & a Bugatti veyron etc
  12. Past & present family cars: Past & better than expected: skoda fabia VRS- excellent car. Reliable, cheap, quick, good cruisers & actually returned the mpg the manufacturer stated. Past & worse: Audi a3 s-line sportback- crap, unreliable, poor build quality over perceived build quality, very average mpg, rock solid suspension & absolutely no character about it whatsoever! Present & as expected: BMW x3 30d- real world mpg for something as big, heavy & fast, comfortable, fast, solid build & some great gadgets like the HUD. In summary: skodas are great value for money with a happy go lucky kind of feel. Audis ( non sporty) are overrated & overpriced with no character. Bmw's are good at what they're supposed to do & be cars for a reasonable price.
  13. The crossfire is a god awful car tho so that alone will stop it becoming a classic
  14. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/86665-my-black-2007-350z-hr-on-pistonheads/#entry1298855 Worth a stretch maybe if that's possible as it would save you money in the long run with the mods already done or give you some parts to sell of to recoup some dosh
  15. Second dibs if sale fall through.......... Who am I kidding!
  16. Yeah Beavis that was the thread that made my mind up to stick with the original plan and diamond cut them. Thay are a contender. Looking at 350Shires build thread & the first pic of the single alloy, mine are currently in no worse condition. http://www.350z-uk.c...nsion-overhaul/
  17. Offshore at the mo so will when i get home but It is very mild surface corrosion that wheen cleaned scrubs up very well. They have not been recut yet so would be the first time. I've seen pics on here recently of LMGT4's in worse condition than mine although theose wheels were not in bad condition either.
  18. As above guys. I have 19" LMGT4's and was going to go down the powdercoating route because none local to Aberdeen seems to do it however I just cant bring mself to do it. These wheels need to be as they left the factory IMO so I have decided to ship them off to a reputable refurbisher who does pick up & return courier service. Can anyone recomend any Wheel refurbishers. I have £350 waiting to do these although I would be prepared to pay more if the finnish is top notch.. We do have a a wheelspecialist in dyce and I did think that I would be able to go through them for the diamond cutting (sent away to a wheelspecialist branch) however they tell me that there is too much corrosion to the wheels to do this which I know to be utter bo****ks. They're just after my cash as they themselves can only do powdercoating which has put me off using them. Thanks in advance Ryan
