  1. Same colour as my old one too. Lovely looking car, and I think your right, that looks like a janspeed K1.
  2. Didnt realise it was a roadster! Awesome. Mine was a roadster and it was so much fun. I had the roof down 9/10 of the time all year around. Even in winter. You could stick the blowers on warm and just drive along in a bubble of warm air. I had a few issues with the roof on mine, it liked to stick half way down sometimes and also above the drivers head, the metal which held the straps around the horizontal support bar started pealing back. Only other thing with the roadster is depending on how loud your exhaust is, the noise inside the cabin could be seriously loud. I had a cat back K1 exhaust and it was 96db inside the cabin. So loud the wife refused to go in the car again............ which wasnt a bad thing.
  3. Price? Have to say however, great advert - loads of details, and lots of good pictures. Good luck with the sale.
  4. I would be getting a quote from Nissan for some new cats personally including them fitting etc.
  5. pmsl!!!!!!!!!! Just get an older one for £15k as they all look the same right?
  6. Fits fine, i did the same on my zed. Got a roll of double backed number plate adhesive tape from halfords and it stuck the plate on like supper glue, even though the bumper is curved. When I swapped the plates back I had to literally saw the plate off as the tape was so strong.
  7. Hmmm. Without being negative, I think it looks just like the old one, but with a weird space ship looking rear end! Really not sure what their designer is thinking. The interior looks pretty space ship too compared to my 997`s interior - which is very old & dated now. Dont think I will be trading my 997 in for one just yet....
  8. This thread is a great read. Sounds like the sort of thing I end up doing to what should be a "sensible" daily car.
  9. Looks really good, the stance, the wheels, the ride height. Very nice.
  10. Thats one thing which does annoy me about my 911. You have to warm the car up before it then tells you theres hardly any oil in it. To be fair though, it uses hardly any oil, so I do only check it every now & then - usually when im stuck in traffic!
  11. It does get quite expensive when you start adding devices, although you can usually shop around and use other brands etc. as long as they use the same protocol. The main thing is to decide which hub you will use, whether it will be nest or another brand. Each device seems to want you to use their hub etc, but all are compatible usually. I use the smart things hub, with their motion & door sensors. I know if any external doors are open/closed, incl garage etc. Motion sensors are handy to automatically turn on lights etc. Sockets are great for things like turning on the xmas tree lights this time of year. The door sensors are handy also for catching people out. Like the cat feeder lady who charged us for 20minute cat visits whilst we were on holiday when in reality she was in & gone within 5 minutes..
  12. I installed Hive in my house last year so I could keep an eye on how hot the wife has the heating whilst im at work. Luckily I have a combi boiler and so literally there are just 4 wires to the hive - live, earth, boiler on, boiler off. Took me 5 mins to setup. It is great though, I have had Samsung Smartthings for many years now and I can set a rule so when the wife leaves the house it turns the heating right down, then turns it back on when she gets home.
  13. Just had a thought. How are you going to approach the new Individual Vehicle Approval scheme stuff as from what I was reading they are getting quite strict on things now. You cant just use the donors cars v5 etc. As a side, i found a pic of my old Ford Pop!
  14. What he says, its certainly sounding like something is constantly drawing power even when ign is off and from your comments about the stereo that would be the first place I would look!
  15. Thats what I figured, when you start to look at 4 seater sports or super car with this sort of performance your options are limited. The Nissan GTR was on the list and a very close contender but in the end I preferred the styling of the 997. Ive done 300 miles in it already since I collected it last Friday!
  16. The final bill for the tuning & performance parts was more like $20,000 in USD And then there was about $6000 on replacing the worn out standard bits.
  17. You used to be able to pick these up 2nd hand for £150 ish. I know I certainly did when I bought mine. You do get what you pay for though, and I found the K1 wasnt a great fit. It worked with some adjustment and looked really nice. My god it was loud though. The drone at 70mph was so bad I found I had to just cruise at 80 instead. It measured over 100db in the cabin. My zed was a roadster though, so it probably would be fine in a coupe. The Cobra system has good reviews and is reasonably priced too.
  18. Now that is a very good idea. Why didnt I think of that. A big thumbs up from me.
  19. It was certainly an interesting drive home, as it took about 1hr 30mins to get out of london, so I was going down all these back streets 20/30mph for ages, then M25 was mental, then M1 had average speed on the go, so it was ages before I could even floor the car. Heres some pics of the intercoolers & pipework. Barely managed to fit all the boxes in the car! They are about 3 times the size of the stock ones and are widely regarded as the best you can get atm. All the top tuners now use them.
  20. Welcome! I dont think ive seen a red 370z before. Nice!
  21. Its even more amazing when you think its only running 1.2bar of boost at the most. A lot of companies just up the boost to 1.6bar etc. Im not planning on selling it anytime soon, even less so now. I have sort of future proofed it a lot with the mods ive gone for, as all the bits can handle loads more power. If/when the time comes I only have to replace the turbos for bigger ones and have another remap.
  22. So after 2.5 years and covering 32,000 miles, I finally got around to having the old daily driver tuned. As always I tend to get a bit carried away and so after telling the wife the car was going for an "oil change" I set off on a 3.5 hour drive down to Gatwick Airport where I dropped the car off at one of the top specialists in the UK/world and left it with them. Engine came out and they did their magic.... That was apparently one of their slower runs. End result is 585bhp at the wheels. Which depending upon who you speak too about transmission losses etc. could be roughly 700bhp at the crank. Who really knows, but the daily commute to work is certainly more interesting now! For those that dont know/remember the old daily is a 2008 Porsche 997 turbo manual. So to get this extra power I had some massive do88 intercoolers fitted, all the do88 big bore intake & boost hoses, the do88 bigger pendlum with the bigger GT3 throttle body, do88 bigger bore Y-pipe, BMC air filter, uprated plugs & coil packs, 890 Sachs clutch, Kline 100cell exhaust and a couple of sessions of engine mapping. The tuners could have got a lot more power out of it, but rather than push for the maximum they like to back things off by about 20% to ensure everything is safe. On top of that due to the cars age it needed some bits replaced - new brake discs/pads, new top mounts, new radiator housings, coolant pipes, cross over pipes, diff seals, suspension top mounts, brake pipes, brake fluid change, engine mounts, clutch slave cylinder and clutch master cylinder . Car up until now has cost me hardly anything on bits, so I figured it was about time to give it a thorough overhaul which should make the car last another 100,000 miles!
