  1. I'll take a strut bar please if still possible
  2. Sized

    Oil

Abbey use 5w30 now for servicing zeds (Motul 8100 fully synth stuff)
  3. Cheers Thought it would probably be a case of getting what you pay for!
  4. Looking very cool Wasso Just wondered, where did you get your original black carbon engine cover from? There seems to be a massive variation in price of the ones I've found on the internet, so don't want to end up with a piece of crap one!
  5. Thanks. Special order from Japan back in 2009 but the importer's name escapes me! Front 19 x 9 +20 offset, rear 19 x 10 +20 offset so no need for spacers. I think there are a couple of other Z's on the forum with the same wheels. Thanks for the info, will have a scout around Was going to get some Rotas in a few months, but these look mighty tempting
  6. Very nice zed. Where did you get those wheels from?
  7. Nowt wrong with Isleworth (yes, I do live there!) Good luck with the hunt Col. Will let you know if I come across anything in St Marg's/Richmond. My mate just rented a 2 bed flat off Richmond Hill for £1,300 a month which seemed pretty reasonable to me, considering the location.
  8. SSV was switched off on my Bose when it was swapped out - found it too annoying with it on Good luck with the search!
  9. Thanks for the reply, just been through the manual again and cant find anything. Will have another play with the unit tonight. Cheers! Hmm interesting. I have a DNX9260 and have exactly the same thing. I actually emailed Kenwood and asked if it has the auto speed sensitive volume adjust (a la the Bose), because as you say there is nothing in the manual. They said it doesn't have the function and so I pretty much just gave up and got used to it! Few peeps have said that it may be because the factory fit unit has this function it's automatically 'on' as the Kenwood units don't have a function to switch it off. Not sure if this is right - I'm no electronics guru by any means! Please post up on here if you have any luck finding the answer bud - would be interested to know
  10. That's awesome Am attempting to learn to play the guitar at the moment....think I have some way to go
  11. Yep, the underside of my strut bar has threaded holes in it. There are then two brackets attached to that which bend at 90 degrees and have two more holes to line up with the threaded inserts in the tonneau, which is then kept in place with the placcy knobs/nuts. Same on the bottom-have 2x metal brackets in the boot floor. Not sure if that's what you were getting at bulletmagnet, but that's how mine is secured! Think the threads are all m6
  12. Top stuff Richierich, been after some new knobs for a while!
  13. Absolutely amazing Chris! Love this thread, love the car, and fantastic to hear it running
  14. From the point of view of someone who is intending to invest in some shiny rotas soon, they're good wheels that don't break the bank (too much!) would be my answer
  15. Beat me to it Col! But in reference to the OP, I believe the zed engines are pretty bullet proof and will go on for ages if correctly maintained. Uprev shouldn't be an issue at high mileages I don't believe
  16. Thanks gents And good point on the NCB Looks like everything in her name with as many experienced named drivers on there as possible is the way forward!
  17. Thanks for the reply Stew. Ultimately she will be the main driver, but I guess you could argue that until she passes, I will use the car more than her - every time she drives it I'll be there, and in addition I'll use it for bike lugging duties every once in a while.....
  18. Not sure if this should be in a different place, but I'd appreciate opinions on an insurance question, which is however nothing to do with my zed! My girlfriend is soon going to be learning to drive, and her parents plan to buy her a cheap and cheerful car in which to practice in. The car will be kept at my place for the time being, and I may use it from time to time to lug my mountain bike around, as well as taking her out for some practice driving So, what we need to decide is: Who should be the registered keeper on the car's V5? Should I be the lead driver on the insurance policy and have her as a 'named learner' or similar? I assume this is possible, and will most likely be cheaper if I can mirror my no claims (again not sure if that's still possible!) Or, should the policy just be in her name? In any case I will be insured third party through my zed insurance and given the car will be low value that's probably okay. I'm pretty sure I know what the way forward is, but as I say, would appreciate the views of guys and gals on here. Cheers
  19. Not exactly in your area but I'd get yourself up to Abbey Motorsport if I was you bud It's not a million miles away from you and they're great guys who will do a top job on your car
  20. Thanks They needed a roll once I swapped to a 285/35 rear tyre, they were fine with the 275s I had before that Ta bud Reason I ask is that post-winter I'm fancying some 19 inch rota grids, which seem to be a very similar fitment, and maybe a slight drop on BC coilovers Didn't really want to have to bother rolling the arches so happy days!
  21. Lovely zed you had there Ian. At the risk of asking a daft question, did you need an arch rolling for those wheels and the drop you had on the coilovers?? Cheers
  22. Just reminded me there Lexx, I need to check with my mate and see if he got tickets in the end! He went to see Frank in Manchester last night - his 17th time!
  23. Hope it's more 'San Andreas' than '4'. Bring back the ability to buy loads of ostentatious houses with big garages for car storage!
  24. 1) My exhaust system. The noise, oh the noise 2) Ummm nit-picking here but sluggish menus on my head unit....
