Hi Christian and As Stoker says there are some very knowledgable ICE experts on here, but they may want a bit more info e.g. do you want nav, what's your budget, would you prefer single din with fold out screen or proper double din fitting etc? I got my Kenwood earlier this year and it's great, if a little pricey (although you might pick one up cheap as the new kit is out now I think). The nav is garmin too which is crystal clear and the whole system is simplez to use. The only niggles are that the response when navigating through menus is a little slow, but doesn't bother me too much tbh, and the iPod/iPhone cover flow function is crap as it only displays the first 100 albums. That's really minor though as I never use coverflow on my iPhone anyway! Fitment is very good too using one of the surrounds from Sextons

I watched AlexIsOnFire twice at Leeds festival in 2009 as they played the main stage, and headlined the Lock Up on the Sunday. Pretty damned impressive. Although Rise Against had them beaten hands down as the best performance of the weekend for me. Although that was a close run thing with Brand New. They played the main stage and were staggeringly amazing. Haha snap mate, although I was at Reading rather than Leeds. AOF were amazing for both sets. Other great performances that weekend I thought were Gaslight Anthem, Fake Problems, A Wilhelm Scream, Polar Bear Club.............and obviously Frank T Faith No More were cool as well. Think I'd seem 'em in London a few weeks prior too Am off to Leeds for a change this year actually, but only for Sunday.........must remind myself who is playing!

Jealous, very jealous! I've been on the boat for everyone of their UK dates over the past few years! Ahh nightmare bud Might be a daft question, but are you in the navy then?? At the risk of rubbing it in, it was the dates when they had no support but played 'Clarity' and 'Bleed American' in full.......sorry I will shut my trap now! What are you thinking about the new King Blues album?? I'm not totally convinced......but must admit I haven't quite forgiven them for the Whiskers add yet......! JIMMY! Love a bit of JEW, haven't seen this tour though. Is it a new album? Lexx is in the merchant navy mate, telling our own Martinmac which end of a paintbrush to hold. They played Clarity in full!? I truly hate you. Hmmmmm, not convinced by the King Blues new effort. It's a bit too......soft. I feel that Save the World, Get the Girl will be the pinicle of their career, and Itchy will end up going solo. And as said - I'm in the Merchant Navy Totally missed this post when I made mine earlier, but as you probably gathered they did indeed play Clarity in full You're probably right about KBs, which is a shame.............Alexisonfire and City and Colour = oh yes. Dallas is a genius

No stuff off the latest album mate, but they did a few nights at there as a warm up for Glasto I think. After playing the two albums they did a few tunes off Futures and Chase This Light. Was pretty awesome I have to say Haha now I (sort of) get the reference Lexx has in his location!

Funny that so many metalheads chose to buy a Zed. I wonder if there is something similar in all our DNA Metal makes the world go round. Fact

I do like that slammed US look but I don't think I would want it on my own car as it's not really my thing! However, those wheels are on my shortlist when I get round to replacing the rays with some 19" wheels as they are Yep expensive I think - maybe try Z1 Auto for a price. In my brief googling so far I couldn't find anywhere in the UK that had 'em. Someone on here runs them though IIRC......actually is that you Docwra??

what are the wheels on the black Z? They're the Gram Lights I believe. Very

That is the best bloody website ever! Just listening to some Exploited now Good to see Capdown are back and Pitchshifter are most certainly awesome. I was a big fan of the post-www album too.......I just can't remember what it was called now!

Great band, got a cracked nose at the glagow Garage when they were touring for Built to Last. Agnostic Front done a geat gig about the same time. Ahh nightmare injury there mate! I saw SOIA at Reading last year in the Lockup tent. The set was amazing and the place was going off. Only problem was I lost my bleedin' iphone in all the fun. Was rather daft taking it to a festival in the first place mind...... I thought they'd split up??

Everyone loves a bit of Black Hole Sun. I was always baffled at how you could take the best parts of Soundgarden, and the best parts of RATM, and end up with something as poor as Audioslave. On paper, it should have been amazing.....but it just wasn't. I'm glad that both bands have reformed and started over again. Like you, I stopped listening to Linkin Park after Hybrid Theory. Although, I was never a huge fan anyway to be honest. Couldn't aggree more. Now then Incubus - discuss..... Great band again not alot of air time tho I think Audioslave had their moments, but overall, dullsville. And the less said about Chris Cornell's solo stuff the better...............! Incubus were great up until Make Yourself IMO (even if they did owe a rather large debt to Faith No More back then). Saw them a fair few times including supporting Korn in '96 (I think) and downstairs at Nottingham Rock City (tiny room!) around the same time.

I totally glossed over the whole grunge thing. Oops! Although it was probably not as much of an epiphany for me as the stuff I mentioned. Soundgarden I am indeed feeling, although my knowledge only extends to Superunknown really...............epic album though

Too right - White Pony and Adrenaline are both classic albums Also feel Papa Roach is a massively under rated band in the UK I watched Deftones at Leeds Fest in 2009. Desperately disapointing as that was the year they had issues with the sound of the main stage. I kinda liked Papa Roach when they first came onto the scene in 1999. They were just that little bit different to the "nu-metal" that was being touted around. Think they pretty rapidly lost their way after "Infest" though. I seem to remember Jo Whiley making the lead singer cry live on Radio 1. What did she do? Show him her hairy toes? Ah Infest was classic - you can't beat cutting some shapes to 'Last Resort' when totally wasted

Which NWOBHM band?? I think the it's a tricky one now. Even 'alternative' music seems to have become more of a viable way to make a living than it used to be in the 80's/early 90s, which is great for the bands that deserve it but means you do end up with all manner of sh*te out there (Glamour of the Kill and My Passion both spring to mind!). There are still great bands that slog their guts out for very little reward and it's most definitely still a way of life though.

Frank is indeed a legend! I've seen him live 7 times now, and he just gets better each time. England Keep My Bones is a great album (easily better than Poetry of the Deed). I quite agree - seen him a fair few times now too including a really special gig at Union Chapel in London last year. Very unsual venue but awesome stuff! The guy just seems 100% genuine and clearly loves and is passionate about his music Just been listening to England Keep My Bones this afternoon and it's quality stuff after the slight disappointment of POTD

Great idea for a thread this, and a nice twist on the usual listing of what bands people are into that has done the rounds a few times I think?? Way back in the 80s I was a young lad and I used to listen mainly to the radio and whatever pop stuff was popular at the time. However this all changed in 1987 when tapes(!) of Guns n Roses' 'Appetite for Destruction' started doing the rounds at school. I was aged 9/10 at the time and it blew my mind! Managed to pursuade my parents to get it for me for my birthday (don't think they knew what they were buying haha) and that set me off on a path for a good few years of listening to plenty of, what I guess you could call 'Popular Rock' (Iron Maiden, Bon Jovi, Skid Row, Metallica etc etc).............. Then epiphany number two came in 1993 when I saw a vid for Sepultura's 'Refuse/Resist' on TV. Anyone who is familiar with this band will know that the vocalist has a good metal growl on him, so at first I thought 'what is up with this guy's voice?! But the heavy, crunchy guitar drew me in and I kept listening to it. Eventually I was sold and bought the album 'Chaos AD'....... Basically that lead to all the mid-nineties metal bands like Fear Factory, Machine Head etc etc and also a whole load of more underground metal and also punk/hardcore once I discovered Sick of it All's 'Call to Arms' album in the mid-90s. At that time (along with every rock fan I think!) I was also getting my fill of 'nu-metal' (Korn, Bizkit, Hed(pe) etc and even POD for one album only!) These days it seems to me there is not a lot of good metal around really tbh. A lot of bands seem to sound VERY similar, so I basically listen to more punk/hardcore type stuff than anything else. Current faves are: Off With Their Heads Frank Turner (legend!) Defeater Menzingers Polar Bear Club Devil's Brigade H2O and Sick of it All (always have to have some Noo York hardcore in there ) Anyway I think I've probably banged on way too long here! Hopefully some of you are still reading and know some of the bands I'm on about!! P.s just got Machine Head tickets for Wembley in December. Wooooooaaaaaarrggghhhh!

Must admit to using 'txt spk' (in text messages only!) but aside from that I totally agree. The thing that really gets on my tits, and it's amazing how many people do it, is the misuse of their/there/they're, your/you're, and fewer/less Ahh feel much better having got that off my chest! Great thread idea!

+1 I also lost some mpg due to excess bean-age caused by the massively improved response in the first few gears especially It probably doesn't help that now I have decats on I can't get enough of the noise either Imo a remap is 100% worth it even with no mpg gains

Dec 2009 - current: '06 350z GT Coupe - Oct 2007 - Dec 2009: '53 Focus ST170 - great car, handled well, quick(ish), practical (got an ikea sofa in the back once) Jul 2006 - Oct 2007: '89 205 Gti - sold as I got sick of it breaking all the time! Feb 2002 - Jul 2006: '91 205 Gti - broke it eventually Prior to that I was out of the country for a year so the car before that was...... VW Polo 1.0 (old 70s/80s 'bread van' style) which my parents bought for a cheap runaround for me and my sis and which had, sumwhat bizarrely, a Lada steering wheel Worst. Car. Ever. And I may as well complete my car history with my first car which sadly rusted away eventually, and that was my grandad's old 1986 Escort Mk 4 GL (1.4 no less) which I had for a couple of years between 1999-2001 during, and immediately after university. Ahh memories! Almost wish I'd kept my second 205 as it was lovely when it actually ran ok!

Haydn, just had the ART decats and XYZ fitted to my car at Abbey and the sound is awesome even with the standard mid-pipe/backbox. Still quiet when cruising on the motorway but under load above 2k rpm thru to redline nicely vocal and more 'exotic' sounding than standard. I'll replace my mid/rear section when the standard one dies.....probs with a 5zigen pro-racer A-spec. They look imo and although not titanium they do have the burnt tips Mark from Abbey said that would probs work quite well with the XYZ/decat combo Happy Xmas!
