  1. Owned mine for 3 years now and still love it Had a slight wobble recently and started trawling the internet for B7 Audi RS4s, but I couldn't do it! Plus the extra cost just doesn't make sense for me atm. Part of the reason I was thinking of swapping was to get a car with a big boot for mountain bikes but am off to buy a shed this weekend instead, so I get to keep the zed and 'save' a bunch o dosh. Result
  2. He got given his zed by the yanks I believe - one of my neighbours is his mate so seen that car in my flat's car park a fair bit.
  3. Nice idea I have a few to be going on with. Maybe not to everyone's taste ......... AC/DC - Highway to Hell H2O - Faster Than The World Shelter - In The Van Again Poison Idea - Just To Get Away The Gaslight Anthem - Drive Comeback Kid - GM Vincent & I Amen - Drive
  4. Ahh d@mn I would have snapped that bad boy up if I'd seen it! Been on the lookout for one for a while now. Re: uprev, this will make the most difference to the car as it makes it a lot more responsive in 1st-3rd in particular. Well worth it IMO Plenum spacer is supposed to be good too but can't comment personally as I don't have one. Exhaust upgrade is really just for the noise, which as you have found out is well worth it Have you looked at the motordyne decats and XYZ pipe with race cat? 100% MOT compliant and very tasty bits of kit I have these with an HKS Super Soundmaster exhaust and it's loud when you want but not when you don't (i.e. cruising on a long motorway journey). Very raspy combo though so not everyone's cup of tea. I love it though
  5. Zed is looking and sounding good Arran Is that rear strut bar cover genuine carbon rather than just wrapped? If so, can I ask where you got it from? Cheers
  6. +1 I've used them a few times now and have always had great service. Most recently they fitted tyres to my new 19" rims Sorry to hear about that though DB and hope you get it sorted soon
  7. GT-Spec also looks pretty tasty Similar design to the Summit brace mentioned by Steve, I believe, but different colour mounts
  8. Hi Colin, Tyre was left on I believe and it was done with a 'smart repair' to just the damaged area and then I assume they blend it slightly too. Colour match is 100%. If you run your finger round the rim you can everrrrr so slightly feel the finish on the repaired bit is a teeny bit smoother, and I think you can just about tell where the blended bit is if you practically have your nose touching the rim (although what I think I'm seeing might have been there from manufacture!) For the last photo I had to confirm which bit had been repaired by checking which bits of the tyre were located at the damaged area - it looks that spot on
  9. Thanks Dave, and here's a photo of the repaired section for you Tez.......... Untitled by Sized, on Flickr
  10. Where are you based chap? If London, then Dynamic Sounds in Wandsworth are good guys for installation and they also have a top range of headunits Alpine and Pioneer are popular. If I was buying again I'd think twice about Kenwood tbh - there's some aspects of my unit that are a tad annoying. Also if you want to retain steering wheel controls you will need the requisite parts from Sextons (there is a thread on here somewhere)
  11. Wheel all sorted and looking as good as new Massive thanks to Taras, although he didn't have the colour in stock for my wheel he kindly made a call to a man that did who then did the repair this morning while I waited. Peter at FA Wheels in West Hampstead is the guy, and him and his team provided a great service
  12. They don't do them themselves but they know a man that can Easy option pop it in, they can take the wheel off and buzz you when it's done, I'm sure they will do you a decent price too Failing that it doesn't look too bad, probably be able to do a mobile job on it I reckon.... Just off the phone to Taras - popping in to see him tomorrow morning
  13. Thanks chaps, appreciate the replies RT Performance are about a five minute drive from me but wasn't aware they did wheels - will give Taras a buzz, thanks Dave.
  14. Well after having the standard rays on my car for 2 years and not getting a single mark on them I have managed to kerb one of my brand new SSRs within weeks of having them fitted. To say I'm pi55ed off with myself is an understatement Does anyone know of a good wheel refurber in the South West London area who would be able to fix the below sharpish? The only good news is I'm off work this week so can hopefully get it sorted asap...........cheers guys, any pointers gratefully accepted. Untitled by Sized, on Flickr
  15. Afternoon fellow mountain bikers, was browsing through the private Endura sale on chain reaction, and as a consequence I have now decided I 'need' a new waterproof for winter Anyone got any recommendations, Endura or otherwise? I'm looking for something that will hold out the rain but not fry me while I'm riding! Budget wise I don't want to go much over £100 ideally. The Endura Stealth looks good but there are few ropey reviews of it floating about. Appreciate any feedback, so big thanks in advance!
  16. +1 and apols if anyone has mentioned this (on phone so might have skipped bits of the thread!) but this set up is OEM quiet when cruising on the motorway but nice and vocal when you floor it
  17. Absolute bargain for one lucky buyer Would have been all over these bad boys a few months ago......GLWTS dude
  18. Carbon all the way mate Got mine the other week from RT performance and it looks
  19. Just to clarify my previous comment re: Megs dash and trim restorer - I don't go too crazy with it as I can imagine it may come up shiny if applied with a trowel I've used it sparingly a couple of times for places that can tend to get scuffed from time to time (i.e. the black plastic on the door sills, the black plastic covering the rear strut bar). Works really well in getting rid of the scuffs that water can't Leather food is good stuff to keep your seats in good condition. Think I've got some of this on the go at the mo: http://shop.autoglym.com/interior-clean ... -balm.html Halfords do most of the Meguairs stuff, and I used these guys recently: http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/ Was pretty impressed with their service
  20. I'm by no means a detailing expert mate, but yes, the Megs drying towel is very good For the interior I tend to treat as and when needed with Megs ultimate protectant dash & trim restorer. Just apply a small amount with a foam applicator pad. Nissan do touch up kits for your stone chips which work quite well in my experience Are you stocking up with clay kits/wax/leather food etc too?
  21. Thanks for the comments guys Smudgedon - I don't know too much about the XXR rims. Did look at them briefly but decent offsets seemed hard to come by and they're quite heavy I think. These SSRs are pretty light for a 19" rim Buster - undecided on lowering mate! I had planned coilovers as my next mod but then again I think the car looks pretty cool as is.......however, the answer is probably 'yes' when I get the itch to change something else Headphones - haha I was tempted to make a tasty coffee table out of them The rays that came off the car may yet end up performing that duty!
  22. Thanks mate. Sizes are 19x9.5 and 10.5, et22 all round. Tyres are 245/275 35
  23. Finally got my SSR wheels fitted after having them sat in my flat for a month or more! I'm absolutely over the moon with these little beauties Massive thanks to Tarmac for an excellent service as always in providing these Anyway, here's the pics and hope you ladies and gents like............ 24. Shiny round alloy things x4 mate Cool, I didn't know Tarmac was branching out into other areas Yep he even threw in a Nismo chefs hat - now my spuds will boil much quicker
