Nice looking car bud Your noise when pulling away sounds a bit dodgy, but mine rattles a bit with the clutch out when idling in neutral. The noise disappears as soon as you dip the clutch though. As far as I know this is common and is just the release bearing.

Thanks for the tips guys. Current plan is to take the zed out to the old circuit and bag some photos (great link Midnight Racer ), then hit the caves for some champagne (obviously after dropping off the car!). Heading off to stay near Colmar in Alsace after that. Will try and remember to take a good bunch of snaps through the whole trip to put on here when I get back!

Evening all, Myself and my good lady are heading over to France in September and are looking for a hotel in Reims to stay the night on the way to Alsace. I'm taking the zed, so obviously safe parking is a major consideration! Not looking for anything to flashy - just somewhere nice that's reasonably priced Any recommendations gratefully accepted Thanks

Mind blowing stuff - Danny Mac is awesome

Bloody brilliant car control and loved the highly tongue-in-cheek approach they took on this one with the effects etc The 'hoonigan fiesta' digital readout at 4.30 and various other points is too.

or some nice power ranger ones ? That would just be silly

Old Focus something like this?? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/3065832.htm

<<<<- Decepticon badges would be much cooler

Also have my zed insured with Sky and it's kept in a private (and not secured) residential car park

Haha true Chevys are cheap and cheeful I guess. One of the other guys out here had a Tahoe for a a couple of days and the glove box came off in his hand If they don't sort out some of the Focus' ride/handling/engine shortcomings for the UK market that will indeed be a shame - I have fond memories of my old ST170

I think you've missed your calling - great write up Maybe the UK cars will be better?! I've been in the US for the past 6 weeks with work and have spent my time driving cars which seem to have been made as crap as possible. My current steed is a Chevy Cobalt and it's beyond bad - slow, coarse engine, terrible brakes, awful interior trim plastics not seen since the '80s etc etc..............

Good price for someone there Geoff. Would be very tempted if I was in the market for a DH bike and also had room to store it! GLWTS

The funny thing is that I am one of the 'Guardian-reading liberals' (most definitely NOT a hippy though!) that Ekona referred to above However, you're right bud. The balance has tipped way too far in favour of the criminal under the pretence of human rights and we are in a right mess. At the end of the day we can look at the social issues that surround this situation, which as I said, I think we should, but people do also ultimately need to take responsibility for their actions. I just wonder what the hell these kid's parents are like, although one can hazard a fairly good guess. I really feel for the police as they are in an impossible position. Having said that I think after the last couple of days the vast majority of people would support much greater force being used

I've seen bankers make £1m bonuses while my investments this year are showing a very large 5 figure loss. Ive seen local politicians vote to keep double the average allowances whilst reducing the services they provide in our area. The banks use money placed in them by all parties (even criminals if they put their money in a bank) to invest, they dont launder it or indeed weapons/drugs. And all this has happened while Ive had my pants down for tax bill that makes my eyes water. Am I outraged. Yes. Am I burning buildings and stealing from honest businesses - no Im not. Why? Because I wasnt raised as a completely moronic brainless tw*t. We've had decades of "we must learn to interact with these people", "we need to understand what drives these people to their behaviour", "we shouldnt punish them, its because of their troubled childhod" hippy, blameless, zero punishment, zero deterrent society - which has spawned now a 2nd/3rd/4th generation of people who know no morals, no concept of punishment, right/wrong etc. The only language they understand is their own mindless violence. Most of them wont even know what a slapped arse feels like, so a couple of rubber bullets to the face should calm them right down. Totally agree, although once the book has (hopefully) been thrown at these little f*ckers who are currently destroying decent people's lives, I think the question does need to be asked as to how they ended up becoming the scumbags they are in order to help minimise the chance of what we've seen over the past few days happen again. Jesus, I've just seen the police in Manchester herding the kids around. Just get in there and clobber the sh*tbags!!

Lots of community hours rebuilding the buildings they've destroyed.........while being beaten severely a la Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom

Ordinarily I would probably say that is a little extreme, but you know what, given the pictures and reports I've seen on the beeb and the fact that an acquaintance of mine is working for the fire service in Brixton tonight, I actually find myself agreeing. I'm in the US with work at present until next week and it's thoroughly depressing seeing what these scumbags are doing to the city where I live. And all this kicked off around the fact that some guy got killed who had shot at a police officer. Feel for his family, but he deserved what he got as far as I can see

classic Definately ignore the next door neighbour - he is a chump, plain and simple. Touch wood I've only ever had positive comments about my zed. Generally it seems to be a car that people know is more special than the average focus/astra etc but not so 'flash' that people resent you for driving one

Went on a great stag do in Cornwall a few years back. Went mountain boarding one day and waveskiing the next and got mashed in the evenings Job done!
-
Haha too right The guy must get through lips/skirts at a rate of knots even in the US though! Either that or he just drives everywhere reeeeeaaallyyy slowly The Ken Block fiesta in the pics below is

Wheels: yuk, stance: daft..........but I think I actually quite like the green!

Because it wouldn't be perceived that they were gaining an unfair advantage over their competitors, also music is not a competition. Whether you like it or not, think its right or wrong, the fact is drugs and music go together. I'm not talking Heroin or Cocaine but Cannabis, speed, Ecstasy etc enhances the experience of playing, listening and writing music and without them most of the music we ALL love to listen to from the past and present probably wouldn't exist. I'm not saying drugs are good and everyone should take them (far from it), but people that do, do it for a reason. Those that do it to the point of self destruction would probably find another way if drugs weren't available, like Alcohol, its legal but is that really any different/better? Just for information, I don't take drugs any more because drug testing is regular in the work I've done for the last 13 - 14 years so I chose to sacrifice that for the sake of having a good job and earning good money, so I drink alcohol instead (not at work ) and I enjoy it But if both were legal and I had to choose between drink or drugs, I would choose drugs. In the 8 years I was a regular Pot smoker with weekends spent on speed or the occasional 'e' I NEVER had a bad experience, felt ill, had a hangover, got in a fight, or trouble with the law. I found it enhanced the pleasure in everything I enjoyed, music, films, sex and even the most simple things like laying on the sea-wall and staring at the stars. I suppose my point is - its not the drugs that is the problem its the people that take them and their attitude to life. Well said that man
-
Most certainly agree with this mind - Doherty should be jailed for crimes against music apart from anything else.......
-
Vik I was just typing a reply to Chesterfield, but you have done my job for me! Also, re: the point about legality - that wasn't really what I was getting at. I was just trying to demonstrate that if we start blanket banning all 'drug' music where do you stop? The Althletics analogy is also a different kettle of fish IMO, as the performance enhancing drugs that athletes take are specifically designed to give them an unfair advantage over their competitor, which clearly should be harshly reprimanded. Rather than start bannig music, I think we as a society should really get a grip on drug education/legislation and tackle some of the social issues that surround some hard drug use, but that's another topic!
-
Don't agree at all dude. To me that's the same as saying we should ban all films that contain any violence/drug use etc etc. As I think a previous poster has said, most of the bands I grew up listening to had drug/alcohol issues (Guns n Roses, Nirvana, Alice in Chains etc) but the most I've ever done is smoke a bit of weed about 10 years ago and had a few beers every now and again! IMO the problem is the fact that we put these people/'celebrities' on pedestals and expect them to be 'role models'. They're just people like you and me, and as such will make shi*tty decisions and screw things up in life. Also, I don't think Amy Winehouse glamourised drugs in any way - she looked a total mess most of the time.

You are really gonna struggle to get one for that price. Mine was about 300 and was second hand There's a pioneer unit on bassjunkies.com for £290 Not sure how current/good it is mind. As Sparky says, if you increased you budget say to £400-500 your choice would be a lot wider..........
