  1. A pneumatic drill? Can be a load of fun when you're a bored 3 year old.
  2. I was in a similar position to you once and what I did was serve the notice well in advance of when you're moving, then figure out how much you have left to pay, deduce your deposit, deduce costs incurred as a result of them failing to adhere to the contract (ie. maintain the property) and pay the difference. Present them with your calculation neatly typed up and tell them that if they are unhappy with the outcome, you are happy for them to file for court proceedings as you have copious amounts of evidence of the landlord not abiding by the contract and you have no confidence in them returning your deposit as per the contract which is why you have taken such drastic mitigating actions. When I did that, the letting agents knew they were in the wrong and that was that.
  3. A dyslexic man walks into a bra.
  4. There are some screws very deep behind the lights which you can get to with a lot of arm twisting and a very long thin screwdriver. Search and look around as there have been posts about this before. I know for sure that you can adjust horizontally, but am pretty sure there is a screw for vertical adjustment as well. Takes forever as you have to do a million turns to move it.
  5. Hi guys, I've got a fairly specific question. I've got a UK zed with a UK number plate light cluster with the boot opening mechanism. I've recently upgraded to a Do-Luck bumper with a Jap-sized number plate and an appropriately sized hole. I've got a problem where the hole is much smaller than my cluster and as a result I can't replace the bulbs which fail due to overheating as the holes are not big enough. Do imported zeds have a narrower cluster? If not, does anyone have any idea what I can do other than make the gap above the number plate wider which ideally I would not like to do? Taking off the rear bumper to replace a bulb every few weeks is really not cool.
  6. There was a fully pimped, lowered zed with a nismo style bodykit and deep dish alloys on the latest incarnation of 4 weddings US. Was in the background of a few shots.
  7. That was me and it's not an import! Just a Do-Luck rear with a Jap-sized plate.
  8. Thank you so much for your immediate help guys! This forum is fantastic if you're in need. My brother in law's car got totalled and it was complete darkness and I'd spent about 30 minutes trying to find how to sort him out. It turns out that Do-Luck have a nifty diffuser/floor spoiler thing happening in the part of the car where normal people have tow hook holes so we had to come up with an alternative method of shifting his scrap metal around east anglia.
  9. can you tow a car in the zed? if so, how??
  10. In most cases parking on the street is even cheaper than parking on the drive It's about the car being visible, so stealing it is harder.
  11. Yeah. I just drove to and from the Tesco round the corner and also didn't see any zeds. I really ought to put up a thread of its own just to document this atrocity, but thought I'd share it here first.
  12. I find the fastest way is to start in the top left-hand corner with the left pedal pressed down. Then you carefully depress the pedal while AT THE SAME TIME pressing the pedal on the right. Then when the car is rolling along a bit, what you've got to do is let go of the pedal that makes all that noise and go press that pedal on the left again. Once you've managed to push it all the way to the floor, you push the gearstick thing down into the bottom left-hand corner and repeat what you did after you went into first. At this point you must be going pretty darn fast and everything in front of you is blurring into a daze, much akin to many a computer game. Take care to avoid kerbs, grannies with shopping bags, your mates in their pimped corsas and other random obstacles in the tesco car park. If you still have space before you run out of car park space, you could try changing into the gear in the middle of the three at the top, once again making good use of the clutch pedal. If you're feeling lazy and/or competing against Barry in his 43hp Citroen, you could always just go straight for the bottom right-hand corner option. This turns your gearbox into automatic mode with no need to change gears and gives it awesome sound when you're breaking through the sound barrier at 40mph.
  13. I'm trying to decide the exact same thing myself + driving there is a whole lot more fun! My shortlist is: Prague, Vienna, Budapest, Munich, Bratislava.
  14. I have seen a website about a year ago with racks specifically designed for the 350z. Had two zeds pictured from an elevated position from the back with the racks on. Where this was, I have no idea, but there is definitely something out there. As for driving in the winter, I drove mine all through last winter @120+ miles a day including all the snow, etc. If you are capable and do not drive like an idiot, you'll be fine. Edit: having actually googled the matter, it is indeed the Boofsquire roof rack as per above posts.
  15. It's nice but for that much money I could do a lot better...
  16. Can't enter any of them pistonheads competitions til I hit 25
  17. Mine has been on 0 mpg for a good few thousand miles. If you don't reset the trip, every 10,000km or about 7,000 miles (yes, I do have a UK model - I just noticed this) the MPG count goes down to 0. My guess is that the km used in the calculation only have 4 digits. So having not reset mine for a good 30,000 or so, mine is permanently stuck on 0.2 or thereabouts
  18. Title says 286hp, text says 282. Go figure.
  19. Still seems way too pricey. I bought an 04 with very similar miles a year ago for considerably (read way way more than a grand) less than the £14k price tag. The fact that the advert claims it to be a 2006 car with no mention of it being pre-facelift AND claims the colour to be Ebisu black would send warning alarm bells ringing if it were me... Just my 2 cents. When I buy a car, if there is any discrepancy or issue I am unhappy with, I just walk away. Saves a whole lot of headache. If they don't tell you the truth about the basic core parameters of the car, what else is there that you have not been told about?
  20. First go: 232. It's pretty easy if you just keep following the thing with your eyes and get used to the rhythm. Got a strike almost every time.
  21. It will be classed as a purchase transaction. This is a loophole many people use to get cash off their card on a promotional interest rate. They effectively pay into their own paypal account and then move the money into the current account less paypal fees. This can be a pretty efficient way of getting a cheap short-term loan.
  22. I got a brand new Audi TTS as a courtesy car for two weeks and had to hand that in a week ago. That was nice too, but no match imho to the zed.
  23. I'm pretty sure the fastest types of 350z are those with Veilside bodykits. I've seen numerous ones for sale with between 350-400hp with pretty much no other mods. I'm pretty sure that screwing a few massive arches into the side of the car and having a big fat rear bumper increases your torque by about 20% and greatly improves handling. Afterall all those adverts can't be wrong.
  24. I was there indeed. Need to save up for some more zed goodness now!
  25. Seems strange that you agreed a part-ex with BMW 2 months ago and were looking for a quick fire deal to beat their offer, yet the car is still on the market. If there's a genuine reason, I'd change the pitch that goes with the sale.
