  1. Hi, I have a little problem. The driver's seat won't recline backwards BUT will recline forwards and move back and forth. It is now reclined waaaay too far forward to be driveable and I was wondering what the problem could be. I checked underneath the seat and played around with all the connectors which all seem fine. The fuse box seems fine. Could it be the switch? If so, is there anything I can do before the morning to be able to drive it? Thanks, Sasha
  2. Strange that. I was driving in that very place at that very time, but didn't spot any zeds.
  3. Cookiemonster: Who did you get that insurance with? I'm looking atm and have very similar parameters to you.
  4. It will be right after I go and fetch my crowbar. What was the house number?
  5. This is a competition to find me a new 350z. I've posted on this topic before, but felt I could add clarity to the requirements. Are you bored? Do you know a mate who might be thinking of selling his Z? Keen to help out a fellow club member? Then help me find me a 350z! Requirements: 1. Has to be a UK model 2. Age: ANY provided it meets requirement 1. Obviously, the younger the better. 3. Mileage: <50,000 miles 4. Price: Either around £10k or something that can be negotiated to £10k (eg dealers where you'd expect to negotiate down) 5. Spec: Would prefer GT spec, would consider base if better in all other parameters. Out of the GT spec, have particular interest in Cruise Control and Sound System. 6. Colour: Has to be one of the following (listed in order of preference): Black, Grey, Blue, (Silver) - ideally one of the first 3. Even more ideally, black. 7. Interior colours: Cannot be bright blue/alezan orange seats or any other bright colours. Leather a major preference. Not particularly fussed about heated seats, but would be nice if they were there as part of the GT spec. 8. Only interested in the Coupe, not the convertible option. 9. Would consider certain mods, but not a 2-page list of upgrades. Am particularly attracted to nice alloys, but this is completely optional. 10. Location: I am chiefly based in East/West Midlands. Am prepared to travel to get the right car. Cars in Aberdeen/Truro/Belfast would have to be rather spectacular to gauge interest. Prize for finding the best option: Something money can't buy. My ultimate gratitude. The criteria are set for specific reasons and I'm not looking for convincing to buy an Import/explanation of the bomb-proof-ness of the engine. Bending the rules is only allowed if you really believe there's a very very good reason why it would make sense.

    .

What would you consider as base configuration on that car and how much would you want for it? I may be interested.
  7. I am looking at that sort of age, and would be interested, but there are limits to my wife's tolerance on car and orange would unfortunately be beyond the threshold. I know that sounds stupid, but of all the colours, orange is probably the worst one in that respect. Moreover, ideally I would have preferred lower mileage despite the bombproof engines and all that. I'll have a browse through the pictures when I get home (can't see owt @work). P.S. Yeah, I am a guy
  8. Save on the advertising costs and sell it this way for £10k. Been after a black one for a long while now.
  9. Tis alright. Thanks for the advice. I'll have a further look at Imports Direct. The only issue there is that in my case Imports cost me quite a bit more to insure (and I've done the homework on insurance companies), so not sure whether that'd be a good idea. Thanks though. Any help much appreciated. Hi Sasha Imports dont necessarily cost more to insure (my other halfs was cheaper than my UK car) - Chris knott are pretty good for quotes - keep shopping about and there is no difference between them btw - so its really down to postcode more than anything (and age I suppose?) As I explained in the Welcome thread, in my specific case, Imports are considerably more expensive and I've rung Chris Knott, checked all the comparisons, done all the bells etc directly. Seems that any benefit I'd get in getting a cheaper import would be wiped out in 1-1.5 years' worth of insurance premium over a UK spec one, so might as well go for the UK spec to start with. No older UK z's seem to be coming on to the market in the last few weeks, so I'll just continue twiddling my thumbs waiting for that first pm

  11. Im surprised at that, sounds like you have done your homework though Ummm If that was my short list of cars to get insured I would defo get the Z Where abouts in the midlands are you ? :bye: Yeah. A combination of being "young", "foreign" (not resident since birth), "limited driving experience" (1 yr on UK license, nobody cares about 5 years on a standard European license), "accident last year" (fraudulent claim I have disputed with the insurance company for many months where my car has 'sustained' no damage, not even a scratch and the other car had >£1200 worth and yet in the end my insurers paid out instead of doing an inspection - very long story I'd rather not get into again), no no claims as a result of above reasons, living in a Nottingham postcode (in the UK top 20 postcodes for robberies according to report from last week) etc etc etc I live in Nottingham btw
  12. I've called them and they said they couldn't help as I don't have previous performance car experience. Bell is best value for me and an Import means +40% to an already high price. The interesting thing with my situation is that it is almost irrelevant what car I drive in terms of insurance costs as it would cost me about the same to insure a diesel golf or a volvo c30 as it would a 350z. The import thing makes quite a bit of difference and I really have shopped around.
  13. An import absolutely cripples me in terms of insurance. And yes, I have done my homework and checked every single avenue for insurance prices. The problem is that I am an ugly combination of every single insurance risk that exists all moulded into one and when that gets multiplied by the import factor, costs spiral into oblivion. Hence why I wanted a UK spec car.
  14. Thanks for the welcome guys! If anybody has or knows somebody who has a Z for sale as per the thread in the "Wanted" subforum, push them that way
  15. Useful tip! Touch wood for this to be a tip for some distant future or in fact to not be useful at all!
  16. I'm based in the Midlands and have posted what I'm looking for in the "Wanted" subforum of the Trading Post. I'm fairly flexible geographically so as long as there is something within reason (ie not some island north of Scotland), I'd be interested.
  17. Hey guys! Been lurking around these forums for a while now and finally decided to register. Looking forward to getting my first 350z at some point soon and joining in the fun! Sasha
  18. Hi, I am after my first 350z! Been lurking on the forums for a while and now decided to register. I'm interested in any offers, but have mild preference for Black/Blue and would like a GT pack. Would have to be a UK model and I'm looking to spend in the region of £10k (price depending on specs and condition). An 04+ plate and <40,000 miles would be of particular interest. If you are thinking of selling and have something along the above lines, please pm me! Thanks guys!
