  1. Not really. I've got an '04 plate and my commute is 95% motorway. The commute is just shy of 60 miles each way. I frequently get 4 commutes + a bit of evening driving + go somewhere local on Sunday/Saturday out of a tank. I never use Cruise Control and we're talking 90-ish (percent of speed limit obviously) on the way there and whatever the traffic dictates on the way back.
  2. I fairly frequently get 500 miles out of a tank. We're talking filling up with ~78 litres after that...
  3. Unfortunately the car came with them and I didn't fancy having a load of holes in the bumper, so kept the sensors in
  4. I had that after somebody kindly drove into one of them. I just disconnected the buzzer and pulled it out with all the wires. I'm guessing the connection at the back of the sensor might have come loose or the sensor itself is broken, but not sure as I haven't pulled the bumper off yet.
  5. Nurrish told me that he enquired, but unfortunately Exedy don't do clutches in pink.
  6. Been looking around for somewhere in Chester and the prices I've seen thus far are scary. I could rent a 3-bed house in most parts of the country for the price of renting a room in a lot of the ads
  7. Nope. I didn't see it. Was too busy drinking beer, watching football, looking at women and scratching my b*115.
  8. go to a kitchenware shop, buy the least obtrusive carbon filter, cut out a circle which will fit inside your exhaust, shove it into the exhaust just before you do the test. Then remember to pull it out afterwards
  9. Hey all, I appreciate that this is a longshot, but I thought I'd give it a go just in case! Anybody has a room they wish to rent or know of anyone that might be interested? I've got a job on the Business Park starting in mid-May and would be working there in the week. Would be away most weekends and am not fussy as long as there is parking available and the rent is cheap. Cheers, Sasha
  10. In short, he said "get a coupe".
  11. Thanks. I'm generally not a big fan of carbon styling. If I was going to go for any colour alteration, it would only be to go properly matt black with some red accents, but this is fairly pricey and not really on the radar. In fact, I'll add that to the Very Long Term list
  12. I intend to add to this thread with future progress as I'm thinking of keeping the zed approximately forever, so look out for updates in the future. I bought this car in September 2009. Fully OEM Kuro UK GT spec '04 plate 47k on the clock. *** Update - 16th April 2010 *** 20,000 miles later... Memorable trips: Been here, there and everywhere. The highlight thus far was a very enjoyable trip to Paris. How the Zed has changed: 1.Upgraded from standard Rays to Rota GTRs in Matt Black with red lip. Click here for pictures. 2. Swapped the rear Nissan badge for a black Zed burger. Planned changes for next update: 1. Do-Luck rear to finally go onto the car. 2. Uprated discs & pads all round. Long-Term plans: These are theoretical long-term plans which will take me a long long time to complete. But hey, a plan is a good place to start! 1. Sort out the rear gas struts - either get uprated versions or regas existing ones. Undecided here. 2. Swap the front burger for a Zed badge. Not sure whether to do this now or wait (probably years) til I decide on a front bumper upgrade. 3. Full Do-Luck kit at some point in the distant future - including the wing & front & rear fenders. My order of preference is: side skirts then fenders, then front bumper. 4. Build and install a PC with two screens - instead of the cubby and the Bose. Will build an integrated ipod holder in somewhere too. Not entirely sure on input systems yet - would like touchscreen AND mouse/keyboard + ideally one of the screens would be pull-out on a brace. 5. Get an uprated Bonnet with gas struts. 6. Replace rear lights for facelift LEDs. 7. Upgrade brake lines. 8. Uprate engine bay strut brace. 9. New exhaust system - completely undecided on which way to go with this, but something classy with a good base note. Possibly a fully dual system. 10. Get a tonneau cover. 11. Get the fancy two-cup holder to go in instead of the cigarette thing for those long journeys. 12. Upgrade the gearstick. 13. Colour the brembos in red. 14. Upgrade clutch. 15. New suspension + maybe lowering (not sure on this yet and not sure what I'd do on front vs back) 16. Stubby 17. D1 Spec Controller 18. PIAA wipers 19. Uprate brakes 20. New shiny sill plates 21. New mats 22. New plates. Know which particular one I want, just need to cough up the cash at some point in the distant future. It's nothing particularly special, so I suspect it might stick around. 23. LED Rear lights + uprate front lights Very Long-Term plans: 1. After the above are done (2018? ), I might look at bits and bobs in the engine bay. Still undecided at which way to go with this and considering anything and everything from getting some fancy coloured lids * cables to supercharging to whatever. Considering putting a Generation IV LS short-block (640 hp) and then forging internals & supercharging it or something to that effect for no apparent reason whatsoever. 2. Depending on what I do with the brakes in the long-run and with the above, a Big Brake Kit could be in order. 3. Go for a fully Matt Black bodywork job.
  13. I've done >20k in half a year. I promise I'll drive it more once I run it in
  14. Have you tried the sledgehammer approach? If you bang it hard enough it'll fall out the bottom... eventually
  15. Lemme set my SatNav to "no Wales" mode.
  16. Beware of the Sasha Zed Ownership Law: Length of time of Zed ownership is inversely proportional to wealth. /goes off to find out which ocean his Do-Luck bumper is swimming through.
  17. That's exactly what i was trying to say but cba to write it all out.......... LIES! I AM THE SOLE SOURCE OF THIS ALMIGHTY NOLLEG!
  18. " Ya baby ya ill take them for free" 1. you can't be sure that Shaun1982 is actually a person. Therefore "it" might not qualify. I get suspicious when "persons" have names with numbers in them. Most likely a bot. 2. I have a number of witnesses to the fact that I actually physically said out loud the above phrase. Unless Shaun can provide evidence, I would not trust "it" to have conformed to the laid out rules. You know it makes sense. Shall I pm you my address?
  19. The promotion is really quite simple. For every price, 2 out of the 3 streets (or 1 out of 2) are widely available. There will be hundreds of millions of these printed. If you go enough times, you'll get a board with 1 of each missing. Those are virtually impossible to get. The number of prizes printed next to each picture tells you how many of those stickers have been printed. So for example, there's only 1 Mayfair sticker printed. For the cheaper prizes, there are some instant wins as well. So to get a Fiat 500, there will be 8 stickers with Coventry street and 2 stickers which will just say "You have won a Fiat 500". All this, together with the fact that >50% of people eating McDonalds don't care about the stickers and throw away their cartons with all the stickers still on them and half of the remaining people won't go more than once or twice (ie even if they get a rare sticker, they'll probably never find out that this is the case) means that in reality hardly any of the prizes will actually be claimed.
  20. I got a few quotes and in my case I'm talking of almost halved insurance costs which is a lot of ££ to me.
  21. I'm thinking of doing something similar, but have around 4 months between when mine runs out and my 25th birthday.
  22. Set my personal best when I put in £98.83 worth of petrol into my car a couple weeks ago. 78.5 litres of Shell V-power @125.9. And yes, my "----" sign was on for a while.
  23. I'd be careful with those. Don't know about the brand, but 1. the offsets are bad. You'll need spacers all round to clear your calipers and I'm not sure how that'll look with those wheels. 2. These are not staggered widths. Others can explain better than me, but getting wider rears is the way to go. Also, remember that for any wheels you get, you'll need tyres + fitting + delivery, etc. Some traders on here could do you a decent all inc. package.
