  1. Early on in the show, when they wake up to 'discover a racetrack in the garden', the first shot shows a Yellow Nismo zed pulling round a corner onto the track.
  2. Having just done a trip down to Bavaria, my main suggestion is go find some very decent screenwash. Almost all available in the UK freezes at -5 or higher which is not good when gunning along a motorway, getting splashed and your windscreen freezing when you put the wipers on. That was far and away my biggest problem.
  3. My wife has owned her car for 4 months. We were driving along and I turned off the radio for a bit by pressing the big power button only to hear "how did you just do that?".
  4. Drove all around Germany over the last week on rubbish summer tyres, albeit in a 4wd TT with all the ice & snow that was around. From what I got, it is not illegal to drive with summer tyres, but in the case of an accident, regardless of the circumstances you are liable if you have summer tyres and your insurance will not pay out.
  5. Drove back from Bavaria and gone up and down the country overnight clocking in something just over 1,000 miles in a day. Mind you that was in a quattro TT for the European drive. Belgium was pretty bad with scenes reminding you of northern Canada or summat, but we made it in one piece You get a real knack of gunning down snow-covered motorways with no visibility or grip after 5-600 miles of it.
  6. I'm off to Bavaria in a few hours (although taking the mighty TT instead). Good luck to all the weekend travellers!
  7. Had a new 2010 TTS for a couple weeks recently. Was a perfectly nice car and I only have positive things to say. The interior and all the little things are obviously very nice seeing as it's an Audi, however, for whatever reason I really missed the raw, jagged feel of the zed and the somewhat 'retro' aspect to driving one instead of a new german marque. The whole smooth gear changes, sound dampening, user-friendly controls and stuff is really nice (so much so, guess what my wife's car got upgraded to a week later), but I'm still firmly in the zed camp for no apparent logical reason.
  8. The more people like you the better it is for people like me who enjoy the empty roads on my 120-mile commute back home.
  9. Ermmmm I do too...especially if they are male!!! every horse & lb torque counts!
  10. I must be the only person who when placed next to an obnoxiously revving neighbour at traffic lights, who is trying to jump a queue of cars by going straight from a lane designed for right turns only, apart from all the other obvious necessary steps turns off the aircon, radio & heated seats in preparation...
  11. I'll offer him £12.50 for the GT-R if there are no other takers.
  12. But... but... I am the only gay in the village!
  13. WANT! Group buy?
  14. I believe that's an Esprit rear half-bumper you had on there. A very nice bit of kit. I was tempted until I went Do-Luck
  15. The window could also have been frozen. Mine has been a few days over the last week.
  16. I've last reset my trip 31,000 miles ago. Shame it doesn't have enough digits My calculated MPG is pretty shocking though as it reckons I've burnt quite a bit of petrol to go 1k miles!
  17. Hmmmm. I was in that very area in a black 350z in the mid-afternoon, but I have an 04 plate. Black wheels & an aftermarket rear?
  18. Happened to me a while back in my pre-zed days. I guess I am one of the rare 'Contrived' crashes where the person slammed their brakes on coming off the M1 with nothing in front of them. I stopped just behind the person with centimetres to spare with no contact and came out to inquire what the guy's problem was. A few weeks later (!!!!!) my insurance company called to say they launched an insurance claim against me for damage to the rear & both (!!!!!) rear side panels. I protested for months and months and spent a tonne of money on the phone & in complaint letters. I insisted that they come and inspect my car for any signs of the claimed damage and if they found any paint from the other car on mine, I would pay out of my own pocket. The end of the story was that because the other party "only" claimed for £1200 or thereabouts, my insurance company at the time (Liverpool Victoria) paid out regardless because it was cheaper for them to pay out than fight it. Needless to say I was furious, but I totted it up and realised it wasn't worth my nerves & stress going through the courts, lawyers, etc, so I just told my insurance company exactly what I thought of them and voted with my feet. It's a sad state of affairs when it's easier and a lot less stressful to just suck it up and declare a fault accident for 3 years and in the online forms put in £1200 damage to 3rd party £0 damage to own vehicle.
  19. The point is: why should you have to drive a shed for a couple months because somebody else has damaged your property? I am really against these arguments, much like the "why should you get a new bumper? You could just bend the old one back into shape and fill the hole". The point is that your experience from the point of the accident onwards should be as close as possible to not having had the incident in the first place. That's a major part of why you pay your insurance. Here are a few examples: 1. I come over to your house and set it on fire, would it be ok for me to place you and your family in a studio apartment for a few months at the top of a tower block in a bad part of town while I rebuild the house exactly as it was (I'll make sure that I replace like for like - ie. fit used carpets & buy second-hand furniture & TV although this is irrelevant for the argument's sake). 2. I take your wedding ring off your finger & badly damage it by bending it into a figure of 8. I then say that it's possible to fix, but will take 2 months. In the meantime, please wear this rubber band that I got for you. Same difference. I know these are somewhat extreme, but the point is the same. If you have a particular way of life, expectations, plans and possessions together with the associated feelings, symbolism et al, why should you have to give these up because somebody has damaged your property? I appreciate that it will never be possible to completely annihilate all trace of the inconvenience, but in a civilised society, it should at least be minimised. By your argument, somebody who steals a few million pounds from a bank vault should get the same punishment as someone who has pickpocketed a fiver because the act of stealing took place and the damage should be immaterial. At the same time, while the money is being recovered from your offshore account, the bank will be compensated with a fiver to keep them going while they wait.
  20. all three garages along my 120-mile Friday route are in. Result!
  21. I believe both should be on 35-36 psi when cold, but I usually put mine on 40 as the tyres are warm whenever I get round to checking it.
  22. I got an brand new Audi TTS for 2 weeks when mine went in. You won't change anything by not accepting the car & everyone else will still take advantage of a 'car of comparable quality and type' line of argument. Therefore suck it up and enjoy the the silver lining that is the courtesy car.
  23. I've got to say that despite a few hiccups, on the whole Rik was pretty good with fitting my Do-Luck rear. The paintjob in particular was good and initially the lines were pretty crisp too. When I had to take it off and put it back on, a couple of the lines went off a little, but overall the job was alright, so he's not as bad as some on here would make out. Particularly given that most have never dealt with the guy. Note that I am in no way endorsing him or am in any way linked to him or his business.
  24. Three zeds driving around central Chester at ungodly hours... Spooky.
