  1. Absolutely love them. I also have some bigtime admiration for the Americans reviving a number of these classics in a modern remake with the Challenger R/T, the new Shelby and the Camaro all out and a new GTO rumoured.
  2. Don't care about what it's a list of. For me, it's the list that gets purchased when I either win a lottery or make it big with my new business On a side note, I am really not at all a fan of the Cobra, the F40 is a bit too similar to the Enzo and I much prefer the latter and while I appreciate the Veyron for the engineering, it would definitely not make my top 10 of all-time. Much for the same reason why the GTR wouldn't either - it's not all about the performance.
  3. There are some serious muppets putting together those lists. Here's my top 10 for ya: 10. TVR Sagaris 9. Jaguar E-Type Speedster 8. Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Eleanor 7. Lamborghini Diablo GT 6. McLaren F1 5. Plymouth Hemi Cuda 4. Lamborghini Miura SVJ 3.Dodge Charger R/T 2.Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster 1. Ferrari Enzo
  4. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-15116064 Looks like it's official. Despite the views of many safety campaigners, the current limits were designed when traveling at 70mph was somewhat similar to going along at >100 in modern cars. In the interest of safety we could all ditch transport altogether and walk to make sure there are no transport-related incidents. In addition, we should do away with electricity and all manner of dangerous technology and go back and live in caves...
  5. I really struggle to understand how anybody on this form can prevent their jaw from hitting the floor and drooling at the sight of this car. The 458 is pretty much a 350z where every single detail is perfected. If you look at the overall lines & shape, the broad idea is actually pretty similar.
  6. I'm selling a kidney. Price tbc, but likely to be ~ £220,000. Available as soon as the full options list for the 458 Spider is released.
  7. Or sneeze Well obviously a sneeze = screenwash sprinler. Duh.
  8. Unfortunately this type of exercise is completely futile as even with my fairly basic understanding of physics, half of the concept parts are either at least 15 years ahead of development, completely and utterly impractical or will become inadequate and outdated a long time before 2025. In fact I would bet a decent amount that almost every single unique thing about it will change completely. 1. Huge gullwing door - point in this? practical? 2. seats folding away, etc so that you can get a fully reclining seat within the car - this 'concept' seems to make a comeback once every 2 years in some car or another for the last half a century. Won't happen in an S class. 3. Hydrogen fuel cell - I risk opening a can of worms, but my guess is that all the current 'green' methodologies will fairly quickly be replaced by one much more robust and straight-forward solution and it is unlikely to be any of the existing technologies. Anything akin to a super-capacitor which would store a huge amount of energy & would be useable at any temperature. I think the age of cars actually generating energy is over. Petrol or hydrogen or ethanol or whatever else, once anyone can figure out how to store enough energy to get you through 500 miles and then take 10 minutes to fully recharge, the world will switch without thinking.
  9. Seconded the above and I would highly recommend fixing your dash lights out. Fit those £20 spacers or whatever yourself and find the loose connection under one of the front seats (resonsible for 90% of the airbag light issues) and push it in more firmly and/or tape it. Those two things, however minor, will make your sale a lot harder and as they are very easy to rectify, I'd get that done.
  10. Agreed. Getting £6 large for a base-level 2003 Jap Import is pretty good compared to a lot of stuff you see selling on Autotrader & Pistonheads. I guess it's not quite so good once you factor in ebay fees
  11. Aside from not being a fan of the aesthetics, I would severely miss a huge wake of water rising behind the car when cruising along at speed in the rain.
  12. You'll be hard pressed to find somebody up for a swap as both of the wheel types you mentioned typically go for a fair bit more than your quoted price on the sale thread and once people have them on, it's rare for them to get rid unless they're selling the car
  13. As the previous guys said, ask Alex. My wife got some for me for my birthday last year and even she commented on the amazing service. He'll tell you the price and you would be extremely hard pressed to get anything that matches the price/quality. In fact, isn't there an existing thread on this?

  15. I'm running the Ferodos with some slotted discs and the performance is stunning. Only ever had to do one real emergency stop (someone pulling out in front of me when I'm doing somewhere around the speed limit give or take around 20mph). The pads worked pretty well to the point where BOTH of my front calipers failed (the piston spring mechanism) due to the amount of braking force. You're not gonna get any harder stuff than that!
  16. '04 plate on 91,000 miles still on original battery & clutch. No idea how.
  17. Ahaha. £3,850 for mine before any deductions for a small scratch that they'll find somewhere. Awesomeness. There must be a lot of idiots in this country for them to make the money that they do.
  18. I think it looks pretty neat and with that engine, I'd imagine there would be copious opportunity to improvise. As for the badge, I really don't see how anyone who owns a Nissan can be a badge snob.
  19. Want! NOTE TO WIFE: If you are reading this ahead of my impending birthday, this this will do very nicely, thanks.
  20. Probably having a calm run at low revs ahead of a strenuous track session.
  21. +1!!! You do not have to use the insurer's preferred repairer. They can however require you to provide two quotes and will deny you a courtesy car if you choose your own garage - but I think its worth it to know that the quality of the work is going to be good. Is it Admiral by any chance? Erm, yes - it's Admiral - you don't work for them do you? Thanks for all of the advice, I'm going to go and get some independant prices. If anyone can recommend any other bodyshops in the Farnborough, Aldershot or Guildford area then it would be welcomed. They can refuse a courtesy car, but this is not a good reason for you to not get one. When the other company refused to provide a courtesy car in my case, I calmly said that I will then happily sue them for loss of earnings and any other related damages as I require a car to get to work and their client was at fault for me being unable to do so. At this point, a car was very quickly (within 1 hour) provided. I immediately phoned them back and explained that I believe that I am at right not to be significantly disadvantaged due to the actions and fault of the at fault driver. As a result, I'd like them to take back the Peugeot 3008 or whatever it was and provide a suitable replacement. You have to be very clear, yet courteous with these conversations. A convertible brand new TTS was driven across the country that very day, so don't take what they tell you as gospel. Hope it all works out for you.
  22. As this is not a fault claim, the third party's insurance cannot dictate where you take your car. You have to be very concise and clear about what you want. I had exactly the same issue before and you have to let them know that you are adamant that the car has to be returned in at least as good condition as it was in prior to the accident as otherwise they are not remediating appropriately. What I would do if you haven't done already is: 1. Find out who their "approved garage" is. 2. Check that this isn't some pretty decent high performance garage or some place you actually WOULD want to go. 3. Contact garage(s) of your choice and see whether they are prepared to/able to take on insurance jobs. Not all garages will as it is a lot of messing about with paperwork. 4. Contact the insurance company and say that you refuse your car to be repaired by a substandard garage as you have a high performance and relatively rare car and prefer a specialist garage/body shop to be involved instead. Ask them for their recommendation on a high performance specialist with expertise in your car type in your area. *** Note that you can refuse even a Nissan garage if you want to as you can claim that it is not one of the Nissan High Performance garages which specifically deal with Nissan sports cars and would therefore not have appropriate expertise - I did this successfully as my local Nissan garage is awful. 5. When they come back with "we don't have one", state clearly and concisely that in that case the only viable option is for you to provide the details of a garage you deem appropriate and insist that an arrangement is made for your car to be repaired there as the company has failed to provide an appropriately qualified repairer.
  23. I would guess that your pal doesn't drive faster than a fly's reaction time to seeing you come across the corner.
  24. I'm confused by why I keep not being able to research any new cars. Stuck with the supercar which just doesn't quite seem to cut it in Formula no. 1. I reckon we should have a Top Laps list on the original Bloomtown circuit so that everybody can participate. If you get a better time, the list can be updated as and when. I'll kick off with: 1. Sasha - 26.52
