  1. ^I'd rather have a Nismo 370z over a Scirocco R Congratulations on your new acquisition. Remember to post up pics
  2. Was in Aldi today and picked up their rechargeable led worklight for £20. No mention of wattage, but rated at 600 lumens and 4 HR run time. 3 yr warranty. Here's a side by side comparison with an "allegedly" 20w typical Chinese light from eBay. The Aldi one is much slimmer and compact on the left. The bigger eBay one is very slightly brighter in practice but only if you look hard enough. Used it tonight to wash the zed but only managed to clean the wheels before rain stopped play so no piccies of it in action yet. The QC from an Aldi supplier should be more reliable than the unknown eBay stuff and I'd rather pay the £20 at Aldi than risk taking a punt on an unknown supplier for £17 which is the cheapest I've seen for a 20w one.

    Tango.

Really caught some nice glowing pics there.
  4. Good luck. Post up pics when you acquire your new zed
  5. So, it's now 7 months since my repair. Here are some pics to compare how things are holding up. February Now Steering wheel scrape in February Now So it's not doing too bad. The colour/gloss match seems to suit an older leather seat like mine but may be too shiny for a 1-3 yr old car. Deffo better than leaving it worn especially for the price of a pizza!
  6. Following on from this thread I thought I'd share how I've used a broken camera tripod to aid in my set up. Bought another battery led cob light for a fiver Stuck it onto the tripod with sticky velcro pads Park the car (tonight was our Mini's turn) under the halogen wall mounted security light to illuminate the roof and rear. A small cob led torch at each corner. My tripod led lights up the front and bonnet perfectly. I'd never do any waxing at night Just the lightest touch using a 2BM wash after a good presoak, rinse and a dry with a nice drying aid for lube. Then some tyre dressing.
  7. Such a poor top coat finish on such a premium seat It took THIRTEEN YEARS of using my zed as a daily to get this much wear on my bolster... I reckon there must have been a whole batch of leather used that hadn't had a proper top coat applied. Surely if all the members with this problem submit a collective complaint Nissan would have to sit up and take notice. Strength in numbers and all that. Just had a brief search and it seems in the past there have been many Renault Sport and Ford owners having their Recaros replaced under warranty due to premature wear too.
  8. Looks really tidy That's the first I've seen with an import style plate holder.
  9. Looks like there's a common theme going on here. You'd expect around 10 years before you see that kind of wear, not weeks!
  10. Was in Tesco today and they're stacking Xmas puddings and mince pies already!
  11. Once you've got a few miles on them, let us know how you find the EBC set up you have. Noise Dust Behaviour from cold etc
  12. Caught this pic today of the wife's car and found the reflections of reflections in the tight beads quite entertaining. This roof was washed last week and a 50:50 mix of Sonax Brilliant Shine Detailer and Chemical Guys Hybrid V07 sealant used as a drying aid. No wax or other product placed here in the last 6 months.

  14. I ordered mine from Zmanalex if I remember correctly.
  15. I've had this once In my case it was the brake light switch under the brake pedal. Quick and cheap to replace. Symptoms are the brake lights only come on very weak/dim. If you clear the lights, all is well until you dab the brakes then all the lights come on.
  16. Great test results. Won't be wasting my money on wipes then. I found my Gtechniq C4 tends to fail in patches after about a year. I may try 2 coats next time.
  17. The image in the background looks terrible Even if the engine is fantastic, if the new Zed looks like that I wouldn't be interested even if it was cheap.
  18. Ahhhh the 80s A friend had an '85 Toyota Corolla GTi in white back then. Also had a red pinstripe. In fact i may be imagining things but didn't all the white hot hatches have the red accents? Renault 5GT Turbo Novas and Astra's etc
  19. Oooooo..... totally forgot you had the headlight test ongoing. I polished mine few months back and was seeing if weekly application of Optimum Optiseal would fair better than my Gtechniq C4 I applied last year. Alas no So I'm looking forward to your side by side test results
  20. I then did the rear of my zed with it too Clicks below
  21. Seeing as you don't want to go down the machine polishing route, I've had very good results by hand on very neglected black paint using Soft 99 Scratch Clear Wax When I first saw the ad I was like "yeah.....right!" Then I tried it on a friend's neglected black paint using the same method as in the YouTube video just rubbing away until the polish disappeared. Did a little video with the left door untreated. 5 mins of rubbing on the door on the right and these were the results. Click on the below
  22. Can't wait for spring to see the Work rims you have waiting to go on. Don't know how you've resisted not putting them on already.
