  1. All that trouble of breaking into a car for a centre console. Sounds like someone has a zed with a damaged console and nicked yours for parts. I hope the lowlife ends up with his car getting written off by an uninsured driver as recompense for his actions!
  2. Oh yes and I forgot...... WELCOME to the OC. I've had my zed 12 years and still gives me a buzz when I fire her up or give her a good detail. I'm sure you'll love Zed ownership
  3. If I was looking for a zed I'd certainly be looking for a forum members car with alot of history on the OC of maintenance etc. If budget is tight the last thing you want is to be having to shell out a grand here and there on clutch/flywheel, zorst, discs/pads, damn....even tyres will easily set you back a few bob on a zed. The zed can appear to be a bargain but an unloved one can cost you alot in maintenance.
  4. The rims really set off the rest of the car Didn't want to mention before but on the black rims it looked as if something was missing.......kinda like a beautiful model with a few teeth missing
  5. Just heading he from a night out. Saw your zed parked on the same road with Tarmac stickers in the window. Rims were looking slick
  6. Veegee sent me this awesome lego crash in slomo
  7. Maybe Castrol have an abundance of Magnatec that they've been trying to get rid of
  8. Very interesting to hear the man from Castrol recommend Magnatec! I always considered this their budget oil. With the many offers available on Castrol egde I'd stick with that over Magnatec. For most average commuters I'm sure Magnatec is fine but I'm sure every zed will enjoy at least the occasional spirited drive where the oil will be under a little more stress. In such cases I'd always pick a fully synthetic over a semi like Magnatec.
  9. Nice zed there. Don't see many red examples and I think that's the first time I have seen those rims on a zed.
  10. It was a sad day when you posted a video of the new owner driving off with your zed as he never seemed to post on here afterwards. Your black Zed was one of my all time favorites. Glad to see you back BIGHER AND BETTER
  11. Go for it for peace of mind. Unless you've got a bunch of bananas for a hand, I can't see you c0cking up an oil change. Like you said...... nobody will ever know unless they have a special serial number etched on the crush washer that they check In fact I used to do the same on my wife's Mini. The service schedule was every 2 years as she only did 3k miles a year. I just changed the oil alternate years when Mini wouldn't as part of the TLC package. Never had anyone find out as I never told them. Just find it even more crazy to not change oil until 2 years let alone after the first 1000miles.
  12. Welcome to Zed ownership. Look out for me in South Manchester in my sunset orange coupe
  13. If you're a Costco member, keep an eye out for their 20% off Castrol sale about twice a year. You'll end up paying about £27 incl vat for 4 litres of Castrol Edge. Our 3 cars need about 5 cans a year for servicing so the savings can add up to quite a bit
  14. I've been using Castrol Edge 5w30 for years in my zed.
  15. Looking really good. Sets off the zed a treat. So tasty it's given me a craving for "skittles" ........taste the rainbow In fact I'd go as far as to say I prefer it to Midnight Purple as it's brighter
  16. After 9 years the original metal valves that came with my LMGT4s were starting to corrode and one was leaking. So 16 months ago I found a tyre place to replace all the valves using the standard rubber ones. They were great and used their rim friendly megamount smart machine to leave my rims pristine as shown below. http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/104715-rim-friendly-manchester-tyre-services/ But the new valves are perishing and cracking already! Any recommendations for sourcing valves separately? I've got 6mm tread on fronts and 4mm on rears so maybe just using their regular ones will last till tyre change. But I only do about 2-3 k miles a year so don't want to have to go through the hassle of changing the valves yet again before new tyres.
  17. Picked up my zed and saw yet another zed there! I wonder if there are any other garages in Manchester that see as many zeds as they do.
  18. Dropped my zed off for MOT and service and saw your zed in the MOT bay looking nice and fresh
  19. They are....Nismo Almera
  20. http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=393943 I know we shouldn't laugh at newbie questions but this really cracked me up Power tools plus newbieness can be a dangerous combination!
  21. This helped me in the original post you linked to. Although a little clean and reattaching sorted my problem initially, the old switch failed a year or two later and I put the new one in. But definitely try the fluid levels first
  22. Birthday. Bank holiday weekend. Got to be a good day ahead
  23. ....or you could just get a 2015 Honda Civic Type R at nearly $300,000rm which equates to about £60k! https://m.carlist.my/recon-cars/2015-latest-honda-civic-2-0-type-r-4-door-unreg-ready-stock/3147318/
  24. http://www.nissan.com.my/vehicles/almera-nismo I was looking at cars for sale in Malaysia and saw this. For those saying the new Type R is fully, prepare to feel your eyeballs burn
  25. It's only about a fiver for the syringe and tubing delivered to my door. Probably take me 5-10 mins to sort. Not worth the time and petrol going back to the garage. Plus they're a good garage I've been going to for 10 years and it's just a few mm over the max mark.
