I mean, I knocked back the Skype one today, but in all honesty if it was installed it really wouldn't bother me that much. I do.... because their testing policy is crap. I thought the same as you Graham, anyone in IT has felt the patch rollback pain Infrastructure engineer here and former MS Exchange specialist in the financial indistry. I've had access to a couple of Windows 10 desktop and server VM's for a while. I much prefer the server over 2012 but reserve my professional judgement at this point as I've not used it in any real anger. Have reserved my personal copy though, won't be installing it straight away mind. 1 Quote

I only patch if there is something wrong or on our fully tested patching cycle (and even that is only certain releases, mostly SPs only). Quote

I just can't see what's better - is there some kind of comparison for it ? If it just ran my programs faster then sure, I'd use it. Quote

Windows 7 is still one of the best OSs from Microsoft.... infact, I am tempted to take my home machine down to Windows 7 from 8.1. Quote

Sure there has been instances where a Windows Update has caused problems with other 3rd party software (McAfee DLP for example) but thats down to McAfee, not Windows. Id imagine most "problems" are caused by other out-of-date systems/software/drivers rather than the Windows updates themselves.
