GMballistic Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 Not impressed tbh. Where are all the gadgets in the modern day James Bond films though? Don't get me wrong I do like James Bond films but I just miss the good ol' days where he used to bang a bird within the first 5 minutes then foldout a helicopter from a suitcase followed by downing a Martini whilst shooting the bad guys with poison darts from his cuff links as he flew off to safety. 1 Quote
Mudman Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 I am so pleased the franchise is putting out decent fims. I like Roger Moore as the Saint but his Bond Films were close on comedy. Timothy Dalton rescued it but IMO Daniel Craig is as good as the early Connery movies 1 Quote
Jetpilot Posted March 29, 2015 Posted March 29, 2015 Always watch them, maybe its the modern times but not so keen on the new style mean and moody Bond with a vengence, although DC is very good at it. Quote
wmr1980 Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 I think DC has been the best since Connery. Bond was always supposed to be a nasty piece of work if you read any of the Flemming books - so I'm glad they've captured that a bit better. Quote
Stutopia Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 I was kinda hoping they might bring Dalton back, but as a baddy Quote
Kraziekatz1 Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Saw a teaser trailer the other day, not sure if this is the same one, but it looks very dark & moody Can't beat a bit of 007 lol DC would have to be my favourite JB Quote
brillomaster Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 psssh, bring back the comedic elements - my fav bond is and always will be roger moore. sure some of his later films were a bit silly, but live and let die, the spy who loved me, for your eyes only and moonraker are all great films. we'll have to see how this film does, but so far none of DC's efforts have made my top ten bond films. Dynamic Turtle Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 (edited) Looking good, but where were the birds? Just Monica Bellucci? Beautiful but what, 45 years old now? The Craig Bonds are great, Casino and Skyfall are both highlights for me. I think the Bourne Identity series has been very influential and that's a good thing. The DC movies have all sort of been prequels. So it's all been a bit of a build up...Q was introduced in the latest film, so I guess we can expect to see more gadgets this time round. Quote
brillomaster Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 true, but last film they made a point of mocking the exploding pen, so don't know what gadgets they'll put in if they cant even stomach some deadly stationery! Quote

You forgot Golden Gun, that's his best one! Christopher Lee is brilliant and so is Nik Nak too. Love this bit from the Trip where they do some Bond and Scaramanga. Quote
Jam1 Posted July 23, 2015 Posted July 23, 2015 Is it me or does James Bonds Aston look a bit like a zed.... Quote
