  3. Yeah, she was losing power in the higher gears and causing me much woe....grrr. New clutch, discs/pads and one of Mr AC’s special services and she’s back in the game! Say “Hi” to Adam for me Man, you posted one sorry looking pic! Here’s one of her enjoying the sun at lunchtime today.
  4. Nude chess might get more takers
  5. Hello & welcome Mine's going up for sale in the New Year if you're not in too much of a rush?!
  6. IT'LL BE AWESOME. 'NUFF SAID. END OF. TD has the best soundtrack.
  7. You pulled out of the Total garage in front of me. Sun was quite bright so couldn't work out if black or midnight blue(?) but looked very nice
  8. Aahh in one meal, you've covered the 3 major food groups of any serious bodybuilder....salt, fat & sugar! And there I was feeling really guilty last night after I ate a Curly Wurly, YOU had a whole tub of ice cream!!! Hang on a minute, Baileys Haagen Dazs? You told me you don't drink?! Coming from a scientific background, I really don't rate the long term use of protein/whey drinks & supplements vs a good diet for sustained muscle development. It's a bit like dieters using weight loss pills, at the end of the day good diet & hardwork wins through every time. But I know you guys won't listen
  9. Have good a good emotional song for you all.....Mad World from Donnie Darko. If I hear it & start singing, halfway through my voice cracks and I well up. Nightmare if I'm driving at the time lol Can't sit through the film without being reduced to a blubbering wreck either.... TBH I think I'm one of those people that makes an emotional connection with most of the music I listen to. Music can completely change my mood or performance. Can't imagine life without music! TT350, it's great you're listening to stuff you haven't heard for ages.....hope you're enjoying your musical journey of rediscovery
  10. Watched this last night, beautiful Datsun
  11. I had a GT86 for a day, took it on track and played with it on a skid pan. Interior was by far much nicer than my 350, but then that's over 12 years old now. Very easy to drive (from 350 owner). Weight/balance ratio pretty much spot on. Turned off all the 'helpful buttons' and was able to slide it around nicely. Not sure I even noticed rear seats?! But lovely, all-round car. Power was mildly irritating! Would I buy one? Not right now, was more than happy to jump back into my 350. They do look nice when you drive past them though.
  12. Very tempting - thanks for the offer I am free that day & would be pretty cool to pop along. Is that a Mazda on Track day?
  13. MR2 is the most likely option, however a friend pointed out the running costs of a Lotus would be much lower....less weight means less tyre/brake wear so not ruling it out just yet Have made some good friends recently, including a guy that races in the 750 club Classic hot hatches championships. Would just need a mk3 fiesta or something similar (needs to be pre 1992), 7 races/year and pretty cheap to get into. Might be a good place to start?
  14. Cheers everyone OH was crying last night at the thought of how much it's all going to cost him lol Track conditions weren't great yesterday, heavy downpour just before test! Then bright sunshine right at eye level during the test. And confidence got knocked by the other person who was being tested. He's starting a new job at Williams in 2 wks & needed his licence. So, pretty chuffed I passed & made lots of good contacts along the way. Saving up to hit the NEC show in January, so I can get myself kitted out safely & keeping an eye out for a good track car!
  15. I'm now the proud holder of an MSA National 'B' racing licence Here's to 2017 being a very expensive year!!
  16. With her income vs your college fees, surely she should be paying you?! Chin up about Christmas, there's still a lot that can happen between Christmas and now! And don't forget to pop down my way when your car's ready, I'll take you for a coffee & mince pie
  17. You want the holy grail Who doesn't?! Still I guess I've the winter months to come up with the right compromise! Many thanks for all the advice guys
  18. So you can see my dilemma now. Unless I part with my beloved zed then track budget is very tight I've been in a fair few cars of late and to be honest the Exige is the only one that I've enjoyed more than my zed! But a compromise is needed and I like the sound of the MR2 option. The other possibility is my OH's modded Scooby WRX. He's looking to get rid of it early next year and it would make a good track car, just not sure it would make a good track car for me! Need to pass my test first though!
  19. Funnily enough I did have a GT86 the other week! Felt right at home in it straight away as it's so similar to the zed. But I might as well track my zed if that's the case. The GT86 had less power than my zed and the set up on my zed currently gives better stability through the corners.
  20. I am presuming you want to race as you are taking your National B test. Most 1 make championships have cars available to rent for a race weekends or trackday tests. Mx5s, Mr2s, Compact cup, Lotus cup etc. I have contacts in all of these formulas if you are interested. Like I said in my opening post, I'm in no rush to throw money at a car. I'd rather pick the right car first, so renting is my most likely option.Cheers though & might be in touch Thanks Keyser Budget is my real issue With 3 cars already & a motorbike on the way, I can't afford to put too much down on a 'track car' unless I sell the zed....which I'm not sure I'm ready to do just yet!
  21. My thoughts exactly on the Honda, and a few years ago it would have been the car for me (possibly) but I've grown up a lot recently and my driving style has changed which is why I totally fell in love with the Lotus A skoda yeti, nice & safe I had a couple of mock test laps with the driving instructor. He said I've got no worries in terms of passing the practical test. Good attitude on track! You are convincing me Agree, totally
  22. Cheers Coldel, hadn't even considered a VX220 although just looking at them and their quite pricey, kind of in line with the cheaper Elise. The MX5 falls on & off my list daily. I worry about the performance on track issue & at the back of my mind I just see a weekend countryside B&B car. A stripped out, battered MR2 with plenty of power mods might be a serious contender though Not for me, sorry. A few years ago, maybe but just the word VTEC sends shivers down my spine and the handling of the DC5 is just not what I want right now. Sorry but I knew if I gave it a boring car related title I'd get no views lolBut if you're into that sort of thing then check me out on Instagram @Kat'snaughtyninelives
