JoshC Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Looking for something towards the cheaper end of the scale. My surname is Codd (no fish jokes please ) so ideally I wanted 'C10 DDY' or 'C8 DDY' but neither seem to be available so I'm now either looking at a few others including these; For about £400 'C10 DDX' 'C10 DDO' 'C6 DDJ' 'C9 DDJ' For £250 'J16 ODD' So a few questions for you all really. Firstly, which of these do you think is best, even if these have to be spaced differently, for example 'C10DD X' or 'J1 6ODD'. Secondly, Does anyone know how strict police are with illegally spaced plates and if they do want to get you for it, what's the fine etc? Finally, does anyone have any better ideas for a plate for 'Josh Codd' or 'Coddy'?? Cheers! Quote
martinmac Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 The secret is to find something which the DVLA dont realise is worth money. I have three which were all chaep. Dont mess around with the spacing though. 1 Quote

Ekona Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Spacing a plate is for losers who cannot spell. Get one with your initials, classy and still means something to you 2 Quote
veilside z Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Careful on spacing. Caution, fine, confiscation. Quote

GMballistic Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Spacing a plate is for losers who cannot spell. Get one with your initials, classy and still means something to you ^^This. I'm not a fan of personal number plates but if you want one then I'd go for your initials imo as it's still personal to you plus you won't look like an idiot trying to spell out something by illegally spacing letters & numbers. hype Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 Dodgy spacing is a real pet hate of mine. Keep it legit, looks much better IMO. I like StevoD's suggestions above. 1 Quote

chubbster Posted October 1, 2014 Posted October 1, 2014 J666 COD - £250 from the DVLA LINK There are plenty of variations on that basic theme LINK That's the best I could come up with. As others have said, don't mess with the spacing - it makes you look daft anyway. 1 Quote

Zeezeebaba Posted October 2, 2014 Posted October 2, 2014 I had a rather unfortunate one on my old Honda NSF 125cc bike many many moons ago. Not a personalised plate but close. It was C566 UNT. 1 Quote

JoshC Posted October 6, 2014 Author Posted October 6, 2014 (edited) Thanks for all the suggestions! J054 COD is pretty good but I think I want one of the prefix style one's, looks more obviously personalised I think! Do we agree that C10 DD* looks like CODD or does it looks more like CLODD?
