HaydnH Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Has anyone found a way to stop cats walking over there car? This was the state of mine yesterday! I think I'm going to try a soft Hacky sack filled with this stuff. Quote
Stew Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Sensible option I think. Generally cats don't like citrus either so putting lemon peels or something round the car might help too. Quote
Dblock Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Pee around the car yourself it cheaper than "pellets" and buy a harpoon or pointy stick? Only joking Quote
Demolition49 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 hope it works.... my cat doesnt walk on my car, but likes to get inside the car and go for a drive with me Quote
DoogyRev Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Non Sensible Answer = Put a Dog on your bonnet or get a water hobo Sensible Answer = Try the citrus thing, of that does not work, what about a Car Cover Quote

Car cover is the obviously the best option but expensive. I found a few moth balls scattered around the drive kept the cats away, but they do stink. Lemon juice is much more pleasant but obviously you have to squirt it around every night. Quote
un1eash Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Theres all types of cat deterrents on the market now, google it there not too expensive either. Quote
shieldsie Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Either / or!! Both will do the trick. Quote
chippychip123 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I have this problem As well . Catch em and throw them in your wheeli bin just make sure there's not any cameras about because you might make the news Quote
HaydnH Posted January 19, 2011 Author Posted January 19, 2011 Well I just got back from Abbey MS so that's that ticked off the to do list... next is the stone chips, I did only have 1 but now I seem to have several so a bonnet respray may be easiest, then a proper detail down at Envy (probably). At which point I want to have an internal cover anyway - but I'd prefer to get the cat out of the picture even when I do get a car cover. Quote
JetSet Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 My Cats (5 of them) like darker colour cars and rarely if ever sit on my Blade, they will either sit on the dark red Clio or my wife's roadsters black hood. Dark cars absorb heat and UV much better and stay warmer for longer . Pete Quote

spursmaddave Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 And I was ridiculed for saying cats do more damage than a car cover Quote
HEADPHONES Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 On a serious note. Purified water in a bottle. When parked up wet the bonnet. Cat's don't like sitting on WET cars Quote
jerry3167 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Remember, its not just a Car....ITS A HOME Quote
redcupra Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 When i park mine outside and the local cats took a liking to it, i got a car cover. I notice yours is inside so you could get a cheaper one that doesnt need to be waterproof etc Cats dont like Jeyes fluid smell, but not sure you woudl want to put that inside? Paul Quote
