Dene8 Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Looking to get my shabby looking LMGT's refurbished after the salt and snow dies down...... the question is which colour........? I've always wanted to go down the dark wheel route and saw Tarmacs thread recently and it confirmed to me that dark wheels + silver car = WIN. But I’m very tempted by Red wheels What are your thoughts.....? Cheers Quote
Pimm Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I think gold looks best against the silver Quote

Pimm Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I think gold looks best against the silver I thought it looked ok but reminded me of the impreza if you had a azure and gold wheels then yes impreza but against silver does look good imo. Quote
rtbiscuit Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 chris I went gold on his gunmetal and i think it looks really good, completely red for me is too much. but the dark colour works well, maybe highlight the lip in red? Quote
mwalker56 Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I went GM with a heavy grade alu fleck mixed in on mine and love them. If you want to be a bit different, how about red spokes? Quote
MattG Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 That one but keep the lip polished silver! Quote
clarkie34 Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Its the polished lip that causes all the probs with them. Quote
Dene8 Posted February 4, 2010 Author Posted February 4, 2010 Lot of people loving posished lips but i think they look awful and are more hassle then they're worth .......... Quote
clarkie34 Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 They do look good, but when i had mine water had got under the laquer and was turning white.Nearly everyone who has them and runs them through winter has the same probs. Quote

If you want to be a bit different, how about red spokes? download/file.php?id=5242&mode=view/tattoo2.jpg do this seriously though, not a fan of the gold. the original or the darkened look is best IMO Quote

maz0 Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 Dark wheels look best IMO, but darker than your picture, almost black. and maybe lower a tad? Quote
Gaz Walker Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I like dark on silver too. Like Gunmetal or Anthracite Quote
andlid Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I like dark on silver too. Like Gunmetal or Anthracite ditto that Quote
sketch Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 definatly gold.. but could look good in copper/bronze Quote
Maccaman Posted February 4, 2010 Posted February 4, 2010 I thought at first that the second picture was how your wheels were looking now after the bad weather Personally don't think that colour looks right, even prefered the gold, which normally I think is a big no no. As a lover of shiny wheels my preference would be leave them original. Quote
Chris`I Posted February 5, 2010 Posted February 5, 2010 Takata green FTW If it was a show car I would agree! TBH, the safe bet is dark, anthracite or GM. Most people like this and would be easy to sell on. If you want to stand out more, I love the look of my gold Rotas, although when nice and clean, they are a garish Look awesome when they are dirty, so dont go bright gold, go for one with a hint of smokieness in them Quote
