So the time came for me to trade in my 350z after 2 1/2 years of ownership. I loved every second of owning it but it was just time to upgrade to something newer. I was definitely going to stay with the Z range! (Here is my 350z Mod Diary for anyone interested: https://www.350z-uk.com/topic/104168-my-modified-blue-350z/)

So here is my new Pearl White 370z GT. Although it was sad to drive off leaving the 350z at the dealership I could not be happier with the 370z!

So it didnt take long to start the modifications. In fact they started the very same day...

Job 1: Spray the rear bumper diffuser black, tint the rear fog light to match, clean the exhausts while the bumper was off and replace the Nissan badges with Z badges.

Job 2: Spray the front bumper diffuser black to match the rear and replace the headlight bulbs from the standard yellow to bright white whilst the bumper was off.

Nice little touches already and done properly too B)

How do the 2 cars compare and what mods are next?

Thanks :) Yeh i try and do everything as properly as i can, whilst having to do everything at home haha.

The 370z is worlds above the 350z in my opinion. The grip difference is the main thing ive noticed. The 350z i could get the back end out very easily and in the wet i had to be very careful. It almost felt like the traction control was doing nothing. However the 370z just grips and grips. I tried to get the tail out on an (empty) roundabout and it just gripped instead. Its those hefty 275 rear tires! Also the acceleration is just that much more effortless and smoother.

Next mods will involve a little more noise as its a bit too quiet for me stock. I dont want to go silly, but it just needs a little more. So going to look for a cat back exhaust and a CAI. Also im sure ill do some more little bits in the meantime.

Looking good, what bulb upgrades did you choose?

Thanks mate. I went for 6000k headlight bulbs. Which makes a nice white but not blue. Then white LED sidelight and number plate bulbs. Chrome coated front and rear indicator bulbs to get rid of the fried egg effect. Then white LED bulbs for the interior cabin, sun-visor mirrors and boot light. In total i think it cost me like £50 for all bulbs.

Amazing how painting the mid section of the front makes it look so much meaner

Thanks mate, yeh it definitely does! I cant understand why this isnt done from the factory. Especially the rear!

Just a couple of little bits updated. Firstly i had to do the GTR Stop/Start button upgrade. I managed to find one on Ebay for £25, so that was a bargain! Secondly, my key fob was rather tatty and had the Nissan badge on it rather than the Z badge. So decided to get a new one.

The one thing i didnt like about the car was that it was very very quiet, which isnt right for a sports car. So i decided to get myself a cat back exhaust. Didnt want anything too loud but just to make it sound how it looks. I came across a Stillen one on here used for a very good price!

It sounds great and really brings the car alive. Maybe a tad louder than i wanted, but not obnoxious by any means.

start button easy to fit?

It's about the easiest mod you can do.

1) Carefully pry out the surround piece and button by sliding a trim tool under it.

2) Unplug the wire harness.

3) Slide the button out of the surround piece.

4) Slip the new button in to the surround piece.

5) Plug in the wire harness

6) Push the surround piece back into the dash (it will click into place).

As an optional extra,  you can also replace the button surround with the red Nismo one at the same time.

It has been a long time since anything has been done to the car, but with the Christmas holiday i had some time free.

So i decided to pull the headlights apart and spray the internals black to match the white with black theme. Im so happy with them and the difference is incredible!

Thanks guys! Its looks even better in person than from the pics.

I was more confident this time as i did the same on my old 350z. It seems a lot more scary than it actually is. Although i dont have a heat gun, so they were taken apart with a hairdryer

I went mad with the sealant and so far no condensation so fingers crossed.

Also, the 370 lights are a lot easier to do as you can just spray the whole section. The 350 lights i had to tape off half of it due to the reflectors, which was a nightmare!
