RobPhoboS
If you read the other post they are slightly better. So all cool. RobPhoboS
Well for those of us with 18" wheels - we're fk'd. They aren't making 4S for smaller than 19" wheels I've just been told by Michelin.

Ekona
^^^ That. Allegedly, but I trust the source.
RobPhoboS
MPS4 are better than MPSS anyways...... You'll have to be clear - MPS4 or MPS4S
Ekona
He was clear. He said MPS4, not MPS4S.
RobPhoboS
He was clear. He said MPS4, not MPS4S. Just checking - it's a frigging ridiculous naming convention. So what makes the PS4 - better than PSS ? EDIT: Found some reviews and what not - plus some apparent info from an employee at Michelin (and even then there's some internet arguing! yey)... http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Article/Michelin-Pilot-Sport-4-First-Drive.htm http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/91858/michelin-pilot-sport-4-review Edited March 7, 2017 by RobPhoboS
Ekona
Internet arguing is the best PS4 is multi compound (like the MPSC2), unlike the PSS which is dual compound. That and the fact there's been a few years' worth of R&D into developing new rubber makes it the go-to choice for me in 18" sizes. If I had 19" wheels then yes, MPS4S is the way to go, but for 18" I don't feel hard done by at all.
RobPhoboS
I'm beginning to dry my tears up, and there's a brucey bonus of price too. I might take a punt in April on them.

Aashenfox
How much are you guys paying for either MPSS or MPS4? Locals want about 1300e for the set of 4 here including fitting and balancing.
Ekona
About £700 in 18" for me, 245 front and 275 rear.
KyleR
245/35/19 + 275/35/19 £834 for MPSS £830 for MPS4S Fitting should be about £30.
Colin747
I got a full set of MPS4 for £550 + VAT (standard Rays). Must say I'm well pleased with them, although there were some random budget tyres on when I got the tyre so it may be better waiting for someone with MPSS experience to comment. Will370z
Well looks like Rosie needs 4 new shoes ready for another roadtrip. Loved the MPSS, but seems they are hard to get now, especially for the fronts. Maybe time to try out the MPS4

Yup thanks meant to post that. I can find the 4S for the rear but looks like Michelin don't do the 4s for the front 245/40R19
Will370z
Dam, confirmed via the Michelin they don't do a MPS4s for 245/40r19. Pity as the linked review shows it's a step up all around on the MPSS. so it looks like it's back to the MPSS all round or mix 4s rear and MPSS on the front
