Yeah I noticed, i take it this is illegal? I'll have to get it changed if so, do you know if you can get the rear number plate the same as the front? Instead of a big square??

 

You have a zed imported from Japan. These are limited to 112.

I believe the solution's is 2 of the big bottles ;)

 

Failing that an Uprev remap will also remove the 112mph limiter or the 150mph limiter on a UK car :thumbs:

Or you need to buy an HKS Speed Limit Defencer. Much cheaper than an uprev, but fairly hard to find i think?

 

Also doesn't do much else, Uprev isn't that costly and very worthwhile.

The HKS SLD is good for just doing its task, the UpRev with take many more things into account rather than just your speed limiter.

You can adjust your fuel map if she is running rich (or lean) for example.

Also with the UpRev, you can unlock true gains from mods done to the engine, as the variables are adjustable.

If you plan to add stuff like intakes and exhaust, then the advertised gains will only be reached by way of UpRev as without the ECU will adapt to changes and adjust levels to fall back into factory spec.

So if you plan on mods, do them first, then UpRev last, and THEN enjoy delimited vehicle.

just a quick sanity check, before you start moulding your car the way you want (performance and cosmetic) just be aware that if you grabbed the cheapest quote from a compare site then chances are your insurance company won't cover you if you make any mods, even cosmetic ones. so if something happens and they find out as much you'll be treated as never having had insurance in the first place, and that is a road you do not want to tread down!

 

now that said there are plenty of specialist insurers on this forum you can talk to, might be worth jumping ship to a company that will support some modding. one i spoke to said they were quite happy with any mods that stayed below a 100bhp gain, ie any performance mods outside of forced injection. even then there are companies that will happily insure a car with a twin turbo :)

JDM cars also come with power reductions built in in the lower gears - you only get 70% power iin 1st, 80% in 2nd and 90% in 3rd - it's the Jap regulations trying to stop people racing at traffic lights.

 

If you get her re-mapped - (depending on where you are, you could also use Abbey Motorsport in Oxted, Surrey) - these restrictions are also removed.

 

I was never that bothered about the 100% power in 1st but the 2nd and 3rd gear improvements are a real benefit, especially when overtaking

No they dont, the throttle is less sensitive but theres no power restriction and this is the case with all standard 350Zs, import or not. Uprev can give normal throttle response, but so can a throttle controller.

So you can get an hks defender for the limiter and a throttle controller for the throttle response.

Or get an Uprev remap that does both, as well as a proper tune.
