S7nny Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Let's say I have £1000 to spend on a stock GT 2006 350Z DE. What would you do with it?! Quote
Joeycuz Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Tax and insure it, that's what I need to do next month 👎 Quote
S7nny Posted September 5, 2015 Author Posted September 5, 2015 It comes with brembos as standard. Which tyres? Haha, it's fully taxed and insured! Quote

S7nny Posted September 5, 2015 Author Posted September 5, 2015 Tyres mitchelin pilot super sports all round. Braided brake lines and fresh high temp fluid, motul rbf600 Slave and master might be on the list as well! Quote
Ekona Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 MPSS, quality geo, brake fluid and lines if there's enough left in the pot. Or £1000 on trackdays. Quote
Jetpilot Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Nice set of wheels if you want asthetics, exhaust if you want audible, tyres and discs/pads if you want performance. 2 Quote
S7nny Posted September 5, 2015 Author Posted September 5, 2015 Nice set of wheels if you want asthetics, exhaust if you want audible, tyres and discs/pads if you want performance. Perfect answer! I'll drop a picture in so you can see what I've got currently. MPSS, quality geo, brake fluid and lines if there's enough left in the pot. Or £1000 on trackdays. Newbie alert!! Quality geo?? Quote
coldel Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Nice set of wheels if you want asthetics, exhaust if you want audible, tyres and discs/pads if you want performance. Probably the definitive answer right there. What do you want out of £1000? You can't have it all for that money so whats important to you, pick from the three above and spend it Quote
S7nny Posted September 5, 2015 Author Posted September 5, 2015 The tyres are tempting me. No mention of coil overs? Quote
mattbrettell Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Put it in the bank, wait until you've accumulated the interest.... (About 40 years should do it) Supercharger. Just puttin' it out there... In all seriousness, a nice sounding exhaust system makes all the difference! 2 Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 New exhaust Specify? Easy one, Invidia Gemini, best within your budget. Quote
Richie94gts Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 I'd go: Exhaust, jwt pop charger, stereo, stubby, clear front reflectors, silvatec front bulbs. I think that lot should fit in budget dependent on the exhaust. Quote
Adrian@TORQEN Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Invidia Gemini + JWT PopCharger + Stubby for £1000 Quote
S7nny Posted September 5, 2015 Author Posted September 5, 2015 (edited) I'd skip the pop in all honesty! Edited September 5, 2015 by S7nny Quote
HiddenWomble Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Newbie alert!! Quality geo?? i believe geo = wheel alignment. when i first read that in context it made me think of geometry. someone please correct me if i'm wrong! 1 Quote
KyleR Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Springs, spacers and a cat back exhaust. 1 Quote
Stutopia Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 The big stuff's been listed, but there's other ways to spend it. You could of course take the Zed for a road trip through the alps or up around the North West of Scotland before the snow sets in A nice bottle of scotch, a big bag of yayo and an open minded russian call girl to hold them in the passenger seat 4 Quote
TT350 Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Drop in filter. Plenum spacer. Uprev. Probably 300 change too. You'll need that though for all the V power you'll fly through Quote

Bingo It's like fancy wheel alignment, except instead of just getting the wheels in the green zones as per OEM, you get a car that's tailored to the way you want it to drive. You can turn a car from an understeering mess to a perfect neutral balance to an oversterring hooligan, just by fiddling with the stock camber and toe adjustments. That's how you really extract the maximum from the car, rather than worrying about the nth degree of 1-2 bhp. Quote
