    Shed

I'm currently running a 1.8 Zetec Focus shed that cost a princely £600. Try as I may, I still haven't managed to destroy it and all it's needed so far is a DIY service, wheel bearing and front L+R drop links (£6 each, 10 mins fitting!). If you're going to shed, do it properly I say - there's something liberating about using car park walls as parking sensors
  2. I meant to say, the speeds the usb broadband dongle puts out are immense - much more impressive than the tortoise pace of SMD's latest fandangly connection - I get a WHOPPING 2mbps!!!
  3. Thanks for the link Paddy, I'm reasonably tech savvy but this confuses me a bit. The article says I need a wired internet connection or a wireless card. Obviously I don't have a wired connection, or a wireless card - just a mobile broadband dongle feeding mobile 'net to the PC via USB. As I understand it the mobile broadband dongle can only connect the pc to the 'net, so I'd need to connect other devices via something else (my wireless router ideally). The T-Mobile guy said that we could manage connection of the ipad etc to the mobile broadband through a 'host' phone. Surely the phone would need a wireless connection for this to happen? I assume the usb interweb dongle won't do this? Cheers in advance for any top tips
  4. We've just moved into a new flat and won't have broadband until the end of the month. It was liberating at first, until you realise how much you rely on it. We've got some temporary mobile broadband action going on via a dongle, I'd have prefered a wireless pointer but didn't want to buy a wireless adapter for my PC. The Spud in the T-Mobile shop sold us a dongle and said we could connect all our devices (ipad, phones etc) via a tethered phone but I haven't been able to suss it out, can anyone help? I do have a Netgear wireless router which I can hook up to the pc - maybe I could connect the other devices to the mobile broadband via this?
  5. My guilty pleasure is wasting hours of my life reading pointless forum posts and wondering how people manage to waste hours of their lives writing them
  6. Probably me No, I think it was me She was a sensitive flower that one....
  7. The problem is that people are TOLD they want small diseasels. If they actually worked out what they'd save by going over to the dark side they might be surprised.
  8. Might be worth giving DMS as call, they are a trader on here....
  9. Hey Rob, Hope you're well and still enjoying the car This might be helpful to save you some time faffing around. I did the reset procedure on the passenger window whilst I had the car and it worked for awhile, although the window was dropping an inch or so which is clearly too much. As far as I know you can clean the motor up if you want to try that before fitting a new one......
  10. +1 Most people tend to gauge the other car's speed, then decide whether they need a lower gear or not for the overtake
  11. "I first restored her in 1980 as a student.....Family life intervened, and my son started life in a carry-cot looking through the back window of a 240Z, and later in a car seat secured to a a specially fabricated frame bolted through the suspension/turrets." Why put this in the description? All it says is that he's retarded enough to be happy strapping his offspring to a frankenstein car seat attachment. I'm all for resisting our never ending nanny-state mentality but this is stoopid, what a pecker
  12. I'm thinking of getting an OM-M4/3 adapter to allow me to use my old OM legacy lenses on my PEN. I'd be interested in feedback and pics if anyone here has adapted their old lenses. Especially macro stuff
  13. To add my twopennorth......I had a Scorpion 'Y pipe back' system fitted when I had my Zed as I wanted what I think you require - an improvement on the crap OEM exhaust note without it being too loud. I was really happy with the Scorpion and would recommend it. I believe the back box on the Cobra is smaller than OEM or the Scorpion but I'll stand corrected if I'm wrong The Milltek is a lot more cash I think?
  14. 1) Cold calling - If I want something I'll blooming well find it myself thanks. Like the rest of the population I have the internet if I can't be arsed to pick up the phone to find stuff out. Also, now we have a baby the calls wake the boy up too. 2) Offshore call centres. Especially cold calling offshore call centres! I should point out that this isn't a nationalist BNP type thing, it's the fact that; a) Our employment / economy is so fooked up that we can't employ tax paying residents of our fine Country to do the work. b ) I spend twice as long explaining an issue due to accents (maybe it's mine, who knows ) and then I have no confidence that the conversation has actually been understood and will be resolved.
  15. Window licker I wouldn't want to mislead potential face wipers SMD, I don't lick the ice off. I use my CHEEK. I did try licking the ice off but my tongue got stuck to the windscreen and I spent the morning stuck to the car and was late to work.
  16. I think the high fuel prices hasnt really helped with the zeds depreciation. I paid about 16k for mine in March 2011 and when I part ex`d it in June 2012 I got 9k for it (nearly 7k loss in just over 12 months). The dealer put it up on his forecourt for 12k. So the cars actual value dropped by 4k. Looking at other cars like BMW M3`s they too dropped by similar amounts, so its not just the zed. V10 E60 M5's can now be had for less than £15K - even given high running costs that's a proper bargain for us lot!
  17. Definitely, and I'm not selling it back to you I'm not surprised Like women though - once you've left you should never go back
  18. Believe me, I've thought about it flexib Thing is it took me months to decide that running a shed as a family car and a Zed as a toy couldn't be justified. I just need to sort my life out and buy an uber family car before our Ford Focus completely sucks my soul out :D
  19. I find rubbing my face on the windscreen helps, if it's really frosty I normally just rub a stripe off at the height that my eyes will be looking out.
  20. It's tricky to pin an average price on cars like the 350Z, as there aren't that many about and probably not many that forum members would consider to be in the condition we'd like. I've said before that there are 3 types of buyer for the Zed, these are ; Posers Drivers Mid-life crisis'ers I personally think this varied market messes with values, with each type of buyer prepared to pay different amounts. History is critical for the best price, and there seem to be a few good examples around with low miles for not much money. It amazes me how cheap these cars are now - even on here there are good spec, well looked after 2004 UK GT cars with 50ishK for 6 bags of sand. Truly cheap for what they are, especially considering most have some useful engine / exhaust upgrades - I'm tempted to get another one myself
  21. That's a fair price if the car is good, but I'd at least negotiate for 2 new RE050's for the front end. If the current ones are RE040's then you'll be wanting 4 new tyres. I wouldn't worry about an extra couple of hundred nicker for road tax though, given the running costs of a car like this over a year.
  22. I'm not a fan of small dogs TBH, but when we have time and a house that is big enough I'd love one of these.....
  23. Dealers are generally to be avoided mate, although there are a few good ones. Far better to let us know where you are and someone can recommend an indy local to you
  24. I'd like to report anyone that thinks the Alezan catsick leather looks good to the style police please
