  1. If it was real it would have been perfecto
  2. Yes Bronzee, our new addition is now 2 weeks old. We're absolutely loving it
  3. Nice one Colin, it was a crazy sky this evening!
  4. I know, but it relieved my boredom at work - you could stick it on your garage wall
  5. I was browsing T-shirts today trying to decide if any were subtle enough not to make me look like a car saddo. I found one that would be suitable for a certain Canine lover on here....... http://www.redbubble.com/people/klassickarteez/works/7462029-husky-gasoline?body_color=royal_blue&p=t-shirt&print_location=front&size=medium&style=mens
  6. Sorry flexib! I've had a clear out so should be able to receive messages again
  7. These tyres are still available. They've got a few thousand legal miles left on them - ideal to get someone through an MOT, sell their car or just to destroy on a trackday or two
  8. Heh, well I did have a couple of pics, but nothing calendar worthy. The last time I took some pics under blue skies was March I think! Actually - just found one from our local mini meet in the "summer" I found that photo' that you took earlier in the day AK
  9. You'd have to be a proper spud to advertise a car like that on gumtree. It's fine for old furniture, if you can deal with the constant calls from people you can't understand who want to buy a sofa for 50p and expect you to deliver it. It's on a par with car boot sales, we did one once and by the time we reached our 'pitch' we had 25 people hanging out of every orifice of the car searching searching through the tat we'd taken along, I heartily recommend never doing one Sorry, went a bit off topic there - that car looks crap. It always amazes me that some people are retarded enough to spend good money to ruin a perfectly good car....
  10. Personally if I was spending £35K I'd be looking at something tasty on the second hand market. The R8 isn't isn't far off your budget nowadays. I'd also be looking at S/H porkers with a lean towards the 911 or a cayman R. A 911 Turbo would be nice, or keep it simple and go for a C2S I appreciate the R8 and Tubby running costs are high so I'm saying go for the 997 C2S. However, I'd still spend less on something fruity and spend the rest on fuel.
  11. Awesome work Dixon, loving the bespoke parts - not liking the Chrome though I especially like the exhaust
  12. Is this true? I haven't heard of this often - no point adding unnecessary paranoia points A slightly obstructive 1st to 2nd is common and not necessarily anything to worry about so long as it improves once the car is warmed up. Issues in 5th and 6th is a worry though. I'm not saying your advice is wrong Dannyboy, just that new buyers have enough worries without being put off a car because 1st and 2nd is notchy when cold I recently sold my car with just over 80K miles on the clock and the gearbox was fine (this is where the new owner pops up and says the gearbox has exploded ). It was the original 'box too, as was the clutch which was also fine - by rights it should have cried enough tens of thousands of miles ago though, it was certainly excercised properly!
  13. haha, i think the most id be able to raid is 2 camels and a few bags of sand, but if youve gave me good luck ill send a bar in the post Look forward to receiving it
  14. I had a read through this thread, it looks like you have good intentions and are willing to listen to advice, so good luck Just wondered though, are you planning a 'Three Kings' style raid prior to leaving Afganistan?
  15. Have you seen how fast they've depreciated in the last 2 or 3 years? You can pick them up for buttons now Awesome amount of car for the money. You did the right thing stanski
  16. There is no substitute for getting out and meeting people face to face, I don't have any experience of 'organised dating' but I'd have thought speed dating is more fun than scanning online info. At least you get to meet lots of real people and have a drink or two?
  17. Leonk's idea is excellent. Can you contact the 'rogue' to politely ask what his problem is? That'd be the first port of call.
  18. Is that the one Evo reviewed this month? Nice but not on brief Don't worry gang, I KNOW it's a great option The budget might be taking a hit due to a house purchase, which older BM's are worth looking at? 330i? Did they do M-Sports around 2003-2004? Did any non-M Cars at that time have LSD's? We're probably looking at £3-4K and we still need a tourer.
  19. Sounds like more overpriced apple tat to me
  20. I had a fair bit of front suspension work done recently, which started with a torn shock absorber to control arm bush and snowballed into refreshing 60% of the front end. Once you've done a few bushes (ooh err missus!) other weaknesses may become more obvious - it could well be that your drop-links are u/s too. As Alex says, it could also be the compression arm and you can either do the whole arm or just the bush - if it's the latter check that the ball-joint is also ok. The OEM bushes aren't bad but I highly recommend Superpro poly bushes, more composure and no harsher a ride. They are pricy though at about £150 for the parts (L+R). I almost went down the Whiteline road as they are cheaper but there wasn't much feedback on these. Good luck!!!
  21. How much for the wheels? They look nice
