If you split the calipers, you will get better access to the screws, however I would persevere with the cleaning method that I previously recommended which will work if you are careful and patient. Remember that you may also have to top and tail the new pads depending on the brand you have bought. If you break the screws in then you are fooked so I would stay well away from them. Alex.

I do have preowned slider plates in stock, however that is not your problem. The issue is the oxidization which has created a build up of crap below the slider. If you can get the screws out then the slider will be reusable. However if you snap the screws in, then you are fooked. Alex.

The slider plates and fixing screws are part of the calipers and are not available from Nissan on there own. They can be very difficult to remove if the screws are siezed and if they snap in then you will have an issue. The problem exists because the aluminium caliper oxidizes and pushes the slider plate upwards which narrows the space for the pad to move freely. Try slightly levering the edge of the slider upwards and then use a thin small blade to scrape away the foreign material, blowing out with an air line as you go. Once you have cleared away all the crap you will have to gently chap the plate back into its original position so that the pad then becomes a good fit. Alex.
  11. Thanks. It is flat sided but the problem.is the nut isnt on far enough to grip the flat part. And that is why I recommended the options above. Alex.
  12. It should rattle off with a decent impact gun. Leave the car on the ground so that there is load on the top mount. Then when nut off, check to see if it is the strut thread or the nut that is damaged. If it is only the nut then a new nut will fix the issue, if it is the thread on the strut then you will have to run a die down the thread to fix or stick on a preowned strut. If you have to use grips on the ram of the strut, make sure that you have it well protected with a thick cloth. Good luck. Preowned struts and nuts are in stock if required. Alex.
  13. Yes, all bonnet spacers or lifters will lift the bonnet at the rear as that is what you are trying to do to clear the strut brace. However the end result is like marmite. There are much cheaper lifter options available. You could also lower the strut brace to clear the bonnet , but make sure that it clears the plenum. A new HR bulge bonnet will also work but may not suit your pocket. Alex.
  14. A cheap fix would be to fit a set of hood risers which will cost you circa £2.00 Alex
  15. Yes, a standard OEM "Y" will be a direct replacement for your Nismo. PM received and replied to. Alex.

  17. Genuine Nissan preowned alternators are in stock and good to go same/next day. Fully working and guaranteed. Just drop me a PM if I can help you further. Alex.
  18. If they fitted a decent brand of disc and you have not cooked them on track then they will not be warped, and you will more than likely find that you have a DTV issue. Alex.
  19. Best to stick with the steel nut options. Alex.
  20. As what Neil has said, I have tried most of them and none get even close to Snap On, however probably more than you will require if it is just for occasional use. Alex.
  21. Check out the restoration business and then make an informed decision keeping in mind that the insurance recommended garages more often than not carry out quite poor work. If you decide on the restoration option then you can always pop in on a daily basis to check on the progress being made. Alex.
