  1. If I was after a waft wagon, it would be a Merc over either. If I wanted something sporty, I'd pick the Beemer. If I wanted something that looked the best inside and out, I'd get the Audi.
  2. Zed will do 24mpg combined, so that makes the final bill £250. Zed wins. Also, 1000 miles is nothing, might as well use it if you've got it!
  3. There's a difference between running runflats on a car that has had its chassis and suspension tuned for them, and running them on a car that was designed for normal pneus. I wouldn't touch them. Not even at £100 a corner.
  4. Anyone else looking at those and thinking, "Sod working under there in case they fail!"? Or just me? They do look a wonderful piece of kit, I just don't trust stuff like that.
  5. Chuck a bottle of injector cleaner in there, could just be slightly clogged. After three years I'd be tempted to put a can of 10K Boost through there too, you'll be amazed at the amount of crap that stuff gets rid of.
  6. Practicality might not have been mentioned, but neither was sportiness I quite like the way he's thought about it actually, even if I don't agree with the choice itself.
  7. I would match whatever you've got in there, so stick with the red.
  8. Ah, it'll be that way round then, I can never remember which is which!
  9. Hmmm, interesting. I only know that the Nissan stuff is definitely blue as I used the remainder of what I had left over from my Zed on the Impreza the other week. They're definitely not compatible as one is glycol based and not suitable for engines with aluminium content (which is which I can't remember), but in theory you could drain all the coolant 100% and then refill with either, you'd only notice the difference after 10+ years I reckon.
  10. There are two types of coolant in modern cars, and they're blue/green or red in colour. The Zed takes the blue/green stuff, so the equivalent stuff from Halfrauds in the same colour will be fine. That said, I'd simply top up to mid way with tap water then buy some Nissan stuff from my local dealer next week.
  11. I totally agree with you, which is why it would've been nice to know what RS did after they were presented with the facts. If they'd have refunded everything and chucked in a free P3 then you'd look on them far more favourably than if they'd have told the OP to get lost as it was no longer their problem. I'd deal with the first company, but steer well clear of the second. No-one is perfect 100% of the time, and it's how they deal with the mistakes that makes the difference.
  12. If you don't want to hear people's opinions, perhaps it's best if you don't post stuff on the Internet? I have read the post thanks, and at no point have you actually said that you contacted RS after you had the problems with the exhaust fitting sorted by another mechanic. If you don't tell him where he was wrong, what do you expect him to do about it? If nothing else you can rant at the person who's fault it actually was rather than taking your venom out here. If you wanted more runs on the dyno, why did you not say so at the time?
  13. I'd at least have the courtesy to ring them and give them a chance to make it right, rather than bad mouth them on open forum. If they don't post here that's up to them, certainly doesn't imply anything good or bad about them.
  14. And what did they say when you contacted them about this before posting this? Apology? Money back? Offer of something to make up for the inconvenience?
  15. Oh dear lord. Do you have the matching hat, t-shirt, trousers, shoes and pants too?!
  16. I want the Lingenfelter one, that's got to be an incredible drive.

    Track day brakes

Agreed. Soft pedal is overheating fluid, pads or rotors (usually all three, leading to the fluid boiling). Just doing the pads will mean you create more heat as they're more aggressive, making your problems worse. The cheapest thing you can do to start is the fluid for Motul and do the lines as well. Next step is pads and discs as a combination.
  18. 8 years for a battery is really good going!
  19. How is that a problem? I thought that NIssan had stopped all that silly warranty-void-if-TCS-off stuff on the cars now?
