  1. Now HMV are gone, where are all the hip chavsters going to buy their Beats By Dre headphones from??!!
  2. Would you want to buy from people with such dreadful customer service? Perhaps more importantly, that filter at the end is the only thing stopping your car sucking up all sorts of nasties straight into the engine: Would you want to scrimp there? Maybe if it was £70 just for the filter I could understand it, but they've also got to include all that shiny metal for that price so how much do you think was spent on the actual filtration? It's not something I would ever consider trying, not when there's so many other quality options around.
  3. Exactly the look I was after, and it did the job perfectly.
  4. Cheap sh*t from a company I wouldn't ask to wash my buttocks for me. Definitely go elsewhere.
  5. BBQ spray paint. That's exactly what I used on my K1 bungs, and it came out perfect. I might even have given them a coat of acid etch primer first, but I can't remember now.
  6. That blue LP is stunning! Right, bit more info. I've spoken to someone else who is selling the guitar I want, albeit not in the right colour, and am going to inspect it on Thursday evening. That'll give me a chance to get a feel for the guitar and see if I like it, and then I can decide one way or another on the other one. If the one I go and see is good enough then I may be tempted to get that instead, even if the colour isn't what I really want. Which I know is stupid, but the colour will match the rest of my collection so I'd actually be better off!
  7. Long days, but if you're happy with that then go for it. I would be fine with those sorts of times, and you can usually knock at least an hour off when you hit the good stuff.
  8. Tell you what I normally do when planing routes, is to use Google maps as much as possible. Plan where you want to go first, let it set the basic route, then start zooming in and seeing where the interesting roads are. Anything windy and twisty is a good shout, but sometimes you'll need to streetview it just to make sure it's not a 30mph limit or a dirt track. Drag and drop the route and it'll sort itself out, you can then use Tyre to add it into a TT-friendly ITN file. I've planned loads of routes this way, and barring one mishap where it took me down what can only be described as a tractor lane near Derby, I've never failed to find decent roads yet.
  9. I'd rather pay another £50 and have the car in a garage than save that and have to park it on the street.
  10. I wasn't sure either, and tbh it's been a fair while since I read a code that way.
  11. People are greedy b*stards. Sorry to hear you've got to go through all this again, however your insurers should still have all the paperwork from the first time so there shouldn't be much, if anything for you to do.
  12. Statistically if you're had a non-fault claim, you're more likely to claim, hence they're justified in adding to the premium. If you're not happy with that, then there are other insurers to use who don't do that, however they may be more expensive in the first place. Swings and roundabouts really. Use some of that £1300 to put towards it  Call them, tell them everything including the claim (you're quite right to tell them, ignore your mum), then haggle the price down. Tell them you've been offered it elsewhere for £800 and see if they'll match it. I bet they do.
  13. Doesn't need to be a Hunter machine, there's others out there equally or more capable. It's down to the person using it, and I'd go for an expert using string over a numpty using a Hunter any day.
  14. Values haven't changed massively since I've been looking, so that's 20 years of stability. I'm not saying 'cos if I do someone else might go and buy it I hate people that say that, but if I did mention the exact one it really wouldn't be too hard to find exactly what I'm looking at. It's a Fender though, and a limited edition that's no longer made. I've wanted for for 20 years, only been looking for 12 months! Hmmm, you lot appear to be more of a bad influence that I had suspected. Good for me, bad for credit card.
  15. If it's never had a geo, then give it one. They should be done annually, or every 6 months if you drive on extremely bad surfaces. That will not only help eliminate any mechanical issues, but make the whole car feel a lot better too. You're not just after a standard 'get the wheels pointing in the right direction' kind of geo, you really need to take it somewhere that understands performance cars and will give you a setup based upon your own driving style.
  16. A question for you all, if I may be so bold. There's a certain make and model of guitar out there that I've been keeping an eye on in the last year or so. I've wanted one since I very first saw one, which was before I could even play the guitar properly, so we're talking nearly 20 years here. I have a sudden and uncontrollable urge to buy one as soon possible. It's not mega money, only £600 or so, but it's money that I technically don't have right now so would need to be dropped on a credit card. I can think of better times to purchase it, but by the time that time comes I might be unable to find a good one. I have other guitars here I can play, and to make it worse I don't even play them that much. I could sell a couple to fund the purchase, but they're a bit grubby and would need money spending on them to get them to a sellable point. I also don't like selling guitars as they have good memories for me. So, the question is, do I or don't I? Any one else ever made a purchase of something they've longed for for years, and then regretted it? Or have I been this patient for so long that I really should just MTFU and get it as it's really not going to bankrupt me? Sensible and not to sensible thoughts please.

    Maxxis MA Z1 Tyres

They sound quite familiar to the 040s, going from that.
  18. Only 'cos of this France is good, and if you've never done them then the Normandy beaches and the associated sights are an absolute must-do in life. Some nice roads round there too. There's loads of other bits in France to go, but with such a short time frame you're limited in both days and miles. Milau, Monaco... Or head over to Germany and do the Black Forest.

Look like a cross between S1 Neovas and the VUS. If they're cheap enough, might be worth a punt.
  20. Have you used the fast-curing paint on this one?
