I actually disagree with that, if something is a cat D then I want to see pics before, during and after so I can gauge how well the repair was done, which in this case was very well indeed. If the damage is hidden then I would be very wary about the vehicle, unless a full inspection was undertaken. It's to the OP's credit that he had full disclosure about the car's history.

£7.5K is top, top money, especially for a cat D. At £5K I'd have been interested, as cat D wouldn't put me off if the price was right.

That'll be the older model I suspect, which wasn't great. The current (yellow) ones are much improved, but you do need to have a bit of care with them: After all, you wouldn't want to just let it go flying and take chunks out of the interior.

Engine mileage wouldn't bother me at all, it's the interiors that are seeming to wear pretty badly. Okay, so none of them were great in the first place, but all the ones I've looked at recently don't seem to be looking pretty good at all (notable exceptions to the guys in here who keep them pristine). Not sure how the suspension components hold up, I think it's pretty good as I'm not sure there's too many who have had them replaced as they've failed. A good sign if you ask me.

But of course, it's probably the least I can do after getting everyone* excited over this thread! *Well, maybe one or two with feigned interest.

RESULT I didn't buy it. For the record, it was a Fender Jagstang in Sonic Blue. It finally went for £425, I was going to make a cheeky punt at £350 and then buy both but it shot up in the last few seconds so I didn't even bid. In my heart, I've now moved onto the Fender Kurt Cobain Mustang Signature Edition and shall be purchasing that ASAP. It's the right thing I think, and it's a much better guitar too. Thanks for playing though folks, all views were really appreciated and helpful, even if I'm a big pussy and didn't buy the original item in the end!

No... I'm still undecided! Maybe I should just buy both and keep the one I like the most.
