  1. Probably a toe issue with the tracking. Get that sorted first, preferably by an expert rather than Generic Tyre Place R Us or similar. Let us know where you are in the country and I'm sure someone can recommend a place near you
  2. But there's always an initial sign indicating the change, very very rarely are they ever obscured by trees or similar as then the police would have a nightmare enforcing the limit.
  3. My post would've been quicker, but I had to google the spelling of philistine!
  4. Dark Side Of The Moon. Philistine!
  5. Ah, I see. This is true, however I need around 16TB of space so I'd fill up the ports quite quickly. I do have a 2TB drive running some music connected straight in at the moment (well, it's via an always-on PC) and it does work but I'm looking for something a little better and with increased safety in case something goes pop.
  6. Just that day You have no idea, you should've seen some of the bodges I did on my old MR2! I cringe at some of the things I used to do on that...
  7. That's exactly what I did with my old one, I just used a dremel to trim a bit of the cubby out without removing the console. In retrospect it would've been a darn sight easier if I had removed it, I was just feeling lazy that day
  8. By the time you buy a case, ram & HDs why not just buy a NAS HD In what sense? A proper RAID NAS box (like the QNAP or Synergy stuff) is going to be a lot more expensive and has no option for adding extra drives: Once you're done, you're done. With something like this I can always add drives of differing sizes whenever I like and they don't have to match, although there is a clear performance hit on that. A £1500 solution becomes a lot more palatable if I can start with a £200 box and add stuff on rather than get hit with the full whack in one go Case I already have along with PSU, RAM I might be able to steal out of my old PC as well if it's compatible, and then it's just the drives themselves. Oh, and the £80 or so for UnRAID.
  9. Had mine 2.5 years, never fell oout of love with it I just fancied a change. When the 911 goes I'll be back in one, but a coupe this time. Or an Elise. Jo prefers an Elise, I prefer the Zed. It bothers me that the little woman wants the more hardcore car and I want the soft option
  10. Clicky clicky Looks to be a brilliant solution for a NAS box, all in one with no fans and 6x 6GB SATA slots. I think this may well be the way to go for me, certainly a cheaper and more elegant solution than I was planning. Just £60 too.
  11. You're kidding, did you hear her album? Barring 'Fergalicious' and 'Big Girls Don't Cry', it was bloody awful. And yes, I know you're not strictly referring to her musical ability
  12. It's utter, utter sh*te. There is no redeeming feature to it at all, and it's very disturbing that Britney sounds like a man for most of it. The bloke clearly has some talent if you listen to some very early BEP stuff, but in the last few years I have no idea what he's taking.
  13. That girl is 16??!! Looks more like 36 to me, she's going to be rough as anything in 10 years. She's an idiot and deserves everything she gets from life.
  14. Classy. Real classy. If you want different lights, then make them, don't stick tat over them.
  15. There's no right or wrong answer to this, you'd really need to speak to the person doing your alignment and tell them how you want the car to feel, they'll set it up to your taste. I've always felt that 'fast road' or 'track' or whatever settings aren't the best description, every person will have his or her opinion on where those limits will lie. Alex (as usual) has it spot-on. If you don't know how you want your car to handle, then get it back to the stock settings once you've finished fiddling with the components. Once you're then used to how it handles like that, you can decide whether you want more front end pointyness or more stability at high speed or a looser back end (!), or whatever.
  16. Because you're paying for PF to handle the paying of tax and VAT for you, and it's a lot cheaper and less hassle than doing it yourself direct with HMRC
  17. Very true. Given how many tyres we (as a performance car focused community, so across all brands) use in a yearly basis, and the fact that none of us were aware of this, I can't see this being an issue in the slightest unless you're really, really unlucky. Even on stuff that's incredibly tyre-sensitive like the Elise, I doubt many folks would be aware of this and have never come across the issue. Whilst it's great info, and I'm sure it can make a difference, it's not something I'm ever going to lose sleep over.
  18. Good. He knows the law, no point moaning if you get caught. Same with speeding etc, take the risk at your own peril. Not saying that he was moaning, of course On your other points; 1. Not quite, it's just the CARB certification that's the issue. There's ways and means around it, especially if you live close to the state border. 2. Plenty enough for 99% of the time, if you're into trackdays then you'd have it removed for £20. 3. I didn't know that, really? Even though overtaking is allowed both sides? Crazy. 4. So do we  I prefer to compare ourselves to the Aussies. They've got it really tough, with huge restrictions on stuff like lowering the car and very very tight speed limits where even a brush over can put you in trouble. I certainly wouldn't want to live there as a petrolhead.
  19. Just add 25% to the total cost (including shipping) on anything you order and you won't be far wrong. It is a bit of a lottery, but if you work on that figure then anything you pay less is a bonus.
  20. That second blue 370z looks incredible. Truly fantastic looking car.
  21. Are you not allowed to watch those kind of movies when Lucy is awake then?
  22. I thought my advice was okay as a starting point But yeah, time to go elsewhere I think.
