  1. If you've still got Mobil 1 left over, then I'd use that too. There may be better oils out there, but it's still very good stuff.
  2. You really should mate, I know I bang on about it but it's such a powerful area to visit. You'd love it.
  3. Knock the difficulty up if you can, each step seems to massively help removing the bumper cars element.
  4. Sam Mcgoo, you are an utter knob jockey. You have really pi**ed me off today, I hate you with a passion, you absolute bellend. Well, not you personally, but your drivatar is a right sod, smashing me off every corner by outbreaking itself. Irritating to the extreme!
  5. Told you it was good I've got that same snap of the map from my visit there five years back, bloody nightmare to capture properly due to the light in the room!
  6. Whatever you do, I would ALWAYS buy from someone in the UK. That way, if something goes wrong and it's damaged or lost or whatever, you're only dealing with one point of contact who actually lives in this country and is governed by UK contract law. Try getting your money back from someone in the US can be a real PITA. You may well pay a bit more, but what price peace of mind?
  7. Tbh, I don't think I've ever used a bad shampoo. Some are different than others, but bad? Nope.
  8. +1 Am currently trying the Poorboys one too which I'm also happy with. The Ph neutral shampoo that came with a Waxybox a few months ago is the best I've ever used though, can't remember the manufacturer now.
  9. You can drive a lot of the circuit from the Mulsanne straight down to the Porsche Curves, and definitely try and visit the museum there: It's the best I've ever been to, much better than any in the UK. You can grab a sneaky pic of your car in front of the main gate too if you don't mind being cheeky Don't forget to do the Normandy beaches over everything else (LM included) if you have time. No matter what time of year, they're breathtakingly emotional.
  10. A Zed won't be cheap to track. Fuel, tyres, brakes... It'll eat those. What it will be is massive fun, even my old Roadster with just a few choice handling mods was a hoot and that weighed over 1600kg.
  11. Commiserations I mean, congrats!
  12. I'm waiting for the Mad Catz one, or until the other wheels are available for the Thrustmaster one as I can't think of anything more pretentious than using the 458 wheel My TV mount for the Kinect finally came, so I've mounted that today and have gained so much more movement space it's unreal. The new widescreen sensor really is a cracking piece of kit.
  13. I've not personally used their own stuff, but for supply they cannot be beaten. Adam was amazingly helpful when I was out there trying to buy some bits to take home with me, wouldn't think twice about either using him again or buying their own-brand kit.
  14. Dude, I got most of it from you in the first place.
  15. I don't trust cloud solutions with all my pr0n. I just know they'll lose the good stuff, and I've got some damn rare Asia Carrera stuff on there.
  16. I agree, but there's budget and then there's false economy. My advice was aimed at saving him going through what I did, which was spunking money up the wall chasing a sound that was never going to happen. And that said, I'm going to completely ignore my own advice and leave it with this: Pick whatever it is that sounds good to your ears. If that's a £200 soundbar then ace, if it's a £100 used AVR with some dirt cheap bookshelf speakers then even better. Ignore what everyone tells you as we all have different tastes, and go with what you like. A place like RS is good as you can test out a lot of differing combinations, and if you really can't tell the difference between a £200 setup and a £2000 one then don't pay the extra! I did loads of testing with mine in Best Buy and Curry's before I made a decision, and it allowed me to sample a massive range of various things playing the music I like to listen to. I don't regret spending a penny of it.
  17. You drive a bloody Nissan, how much lower can you get??!!
  18. Slip angle AIUI from how Walshy explains it, it's basically the angle at which the tyre stops moving in the direction you intend it to. This is mostly found in understeer, which is why to counteract that you actually need to wind some lock off rather than add more. It's how you can lock the steering at, say, 60 deg and then apply throttle to move yourself around a given area rather than just moving the wheel. It's a crude way to demonstrate it, but it works.
  19. Look, I changed it, job done. I will try not to use it again on here as BM is a mate, but to tell the truth if anyone else had asked I'd have left it up as my moral compass finds that particular word okay to use. No, I wouldn't use it at someone directly as I would find that offensive, but to use it in the colloquial way I did I think was fine. But hey ho, you know me, I'm not one to rock the boat Oddly enough, the R888s don't actually seem as noisy on the road as I remember them being. Maybe I'm just going deaf or the fact the car is stripped is hiding the road noise?
  20. Are you that offended by the term then? I had no idea.

    I'm stupid

Some do, some don't. In theory on a modern engine that's looked after well then it should help, by removing all the crap that sticks to everything. On the other hand some of that crap may be holding the engine together, or you could loosen off chunks that then don't drain out and float around the engine and block stuff up, and that could cause serious issues. Each to their own, I used to use it but I don't bother any more. Make of that what you will.
  22. I found both ends of the spectrum on these tyres this week. First was Friday, when temps were around 3c and it was about 5pm at night. No rain, roads were surprisingly dry, and everything just came together perfectly. I had oodles of feel despite temperatures, and the grip level was phenomenal. There was absolutely no way in hell any winter tyre or even the MPSS could've touched the levels of grip I had that night. It was absolutely perfect, it really was. And then there was yesterday. Woke up and the windscreens were frozen solid, and although the air temps were around the same 3c there was so much moisture around that the road was incredibly slippery. I had a slip angle of around 5deg I think, it was horrendous: I'd turn the wheel and the front would just plough on! It was okay when the roads had seen some sunlight, but in the shade it was incredibly challenging. Certainly I didn't dare muster up any kind of enthusiastic driving at all. I've no doubt that a regular tyre would've been far superior in those conditions, and truth be told if I wasn't going somewhere that I had to take that particular car, then I'd have left it at home. I really love them though, and they suit the go-kart nature of a stripped MR2 very well.
