  1. Ever driven a small MR car?
  2. Power. He wants power, nothing more.
  3. Like the MX5, but with an Alfa face.
  4. What if he thought Reeva was unconscious, or dead? Just because she wasn't in bed, didn't mean she must be in the bathroom. Personally, I'm inclined to think it was a horrible accident. Maybe he was a bit trigger happy, but in SA you've got to be when it cones to protecting yourself.
  5. If you want an Alfa, just buy the Alfa MX5 based on this car when it comes out.
  6. No idea on figures yet, I deliberately left without getting the dyno sheet as I wanted to see if I could guess what it is by feel alone, before I get the proper numbers. Sounds daft, I know. And a CTR is my idea of sensible! @Brillo: Might well see if I can make it closer to the time
  7. http://www.scottishreview.net/CarolCraig172.shtml It's long, but worth a read.
  8. Like this: "Oh yeah, silly me, you are correct Dan. And wonderful, too. In fact, I love you." Something like that.
  9. What date?

Can you expand on this Dan? My first issue is cost. If these things break, they are very expensive to replace, and you invariably have to replace two at a time. Then you have the electronics which also go pop and need replacing. In short, any issues get very expensive very quickly. There's also the issue with handling consistency. Now, I don't know about BMW here, but the Porsche PASM constantly adjusts the oil rate inside the damper to give optimum grip when in attack mode. That's great in theory, but that means you have zero consistency in the damping which leads to unpredictable handling, as it'll never do the same thing twice. For road use it's fine, for the track it's a nightmare. If the EDC isn't that clever and it's a simple on/off for damping pressures, then you'll be fine. I genuinely don't know on a Beemer! But yeah, it's mainly the cost issue for me. More stuff to go wrong, which is why I'd only buy a manual car too.
  11. It's a strawberry patch, not a tree!
  12. Means it was priced correctly mate, life's too short to be wringing every quid out of a deal Shame you didn't gel with the car, but I do understand they're not for everybody. Onwards and upwards and all that.
  13. DC5 would be amazing, S2K my preferred choice, but budget dictates the Civic Anyway, MR2 is back. Erm, it's a bit poky in lower gears, to put it mildly...!
  14. Not yet, but will definitely get something to tide me over until the next long term car arrives. I'm thinking about an EP3 CTR at the moment, haven't had a V-TEC engine yet so would be nice to tick the box Mine is running on a Unichip Q with a couple of extra doohickeys to control bits: If I'm honest, I've no idea what they are! I'll ask tonight when I pick it up, as I had the phonecall and it's all ready
  15. Finishing at half two??!! Is this judge a part timer or something??!! Bloody hate cliff hangers. It's like a SA version of Neighbours.
  16. They will affect the handling. They will also affect braking and acceleration. Whether you'd actually notice any of that depends on how keen your senses are. Most people won't, but some will and it will drive them crazy.
  17. Impossible to say without knowing what kind of music you like. Personally I'd be tempted to use Spotify and just grab some random stuff in the genre you like and haven't heard before.
  18. But all the time it's off the road he's paying for a second lot of insurance and running costs on a second car. Granted, they may not be huge in the grand scheme of things, but they'll be very real and will hit the savings. It'll quickly turn into one of those projects that never quite gets done: Been there, done that! I want to see Grundy up on his feet and back in a Zed as quickly as possible. He's had a crap enough year as it is, and he deserves to be happy driving his Zed again
  19. So you want the Euro?
  20. What's white and can't climb trees? A fridge. What's white, wears stripey trousers and can't climb trees? Rupert the fridge.
  21. I think it'll be a No. Just.
  22. What do you get if you cross a rottweiler with a labrador? A dog that scares the sh*t out of you, then runs off with the toilet paper.
  23. That's an interesting point, I hadn't thought about that. If Scotland isn't accepted into the EU, there's no easy route for bailout money either. Probably unlikely in the short term though.
  24. I still have serious doubts over this, y'know.
  25. FWIW, my thoughts: - V8 so a LS/JZ/RB, Anythings possible at the Zed shed, however this could potentially be the most expensive option. I need to do a lot of research into it, but i'm probably looking at £10k+ for this work - I need to have a chat with Wasso and Bizz. Unless you think you'll have £15K spare, I wouldn't go down this route. Given your situation now, and the fluidity of it, I'd discount this straight away. - Forged Engine Build - Straight up around £7.5K. See above. - Buy another DE Engine - £1000-£2000, the only issue with this is, it's like a lottery. I could buy a mint engine, or I could buy a dog of an engine. You can get the engine tested and everything before it goes in. You worry about this applies equally to the V8 swap or the forged engine build: Really, you never know it'll all be fine until you get it running. Even if you bought brand-new, it could still be a duffer! - Buy another Zed (Cat C/D) Or something with Rear end damage ( Or any damage) - This way I can drive the car and get a feel for the engine etc. Plus I can then split the car and sell spares etc. - Not a bad option at all, if you have the time and space. - Keyser has 3 engines at the Zed shed which we could possibly make one engine work out of all them. Again, worth considering if the above two options don't work for you. Whatever you decide, you have our support. This might be a good time though to start looking at getting your own place sorted, and get some stability though
