Silly question, but would a thinner rad not be less efficient than a bigger one? Coming from a plumbing perspective, a bigger rad always gives off more heat which in an automotive application is what you want, more heat removed from the system. Or are you assuming the bonnet venting will make a bigger difference? Not being picky, more trying to improve my understanding of cooking systems

On the subject of innocently not declaring mods, it's about reasonableness as well. For example, would you expect 80 year old Doris to know that her 1.0L Micra didn't come with 15" BBS wheels from the factory? No, of course not. Would you expect Barry who's been into the modifying scene for years and is on every owner's club to know that the 6" exhaust on his Impreza isn't stock? Yes, that's perfectly reasonable. So pretty much any one on here has no excuse

You're right, maybe it's only 100ths you lose, but it's VERY noticeable in terms of feel. Everything feels heavier and clunkier, and at low speeds like you find on the roads is where you notice it the most. Heavier wheels just make the car feel lumpier and more weighty, which isn't a trait I'd want. Even the difference between Rays and OEM 18s was huge, when swapping between the two.

For the balance of driving a car that is smoking like crazy and risking the worst against not driving it, it's nothing more than common sense to leave it on the drive. I wouldn't be buying the Teins, let's leave it at that. Personally at that price range I favour the BC Racing stuff. I've run their stuff on my own BMW and MR2, have tried them on a 350Z turbo and will be putting them on the Impreza soon. Excellent range of adjustment, solid build quality, and they'll set any spring rate you want if you ask them before ordering which is very handy. Yup, honestly I wouldn't look further. Unless you can scrape enough for the KWv3, then they're unbeatable.

You'll find the car will stop slower, accelerate slower, and feel heavier through corners due to the extra unsprung weight. You'll also likely have a harsher ride due to the thinner sidewalls, along with the extra weight. However, you will have more grip and let's face it, they look better!
