    NEW car!?

Not for £6K you won't. VX220 is the best shout here for something different, but not 4 seats. If you want that, then a 335i is the one to grab. Or a 645ci

    NEW car!?

£6K? Eeep, not a lot out there that's much faster. Impreza sure, but you'd need a remapped STi and they're either going to be a dog or too pricey. Is a 335i really that much quicker than a 350? You might get an E46 M3 for £6K, but like Brillo correctly says the M tax is horrendous. If you can stomach FWD, a tweaked Lean Cupra R is going to muller a 350 in regular driving. Personally I'd forget speed and just get something different. Ever had a convertible?
  3. The rarity of something does not indicate how good it is. Usually it's because it's too expensive, or it's not any good. Thankfully the 350 doesn't fall under either of those, but be careful when using the rarity argument.
  4. Sounds like me when my missus tries to make me go down the gym.
  5. No idea. Nissan probably do. Give them a call?
  6. No. I did not. BECAUSE IT'S A BLOODY GREAT BIG COUNTRY AND PRACTICALLY NO-ONE BOUGHT A 350 THERE, SO IT'S NO GREAT SURPRISE THAT I DIDN'T SEE ONE IN THE LIMITED TIME I WAS THERE. ;)
  7. I once went to France and didn't see a single person wearing garlic round their neck. I couldn't believe it!
  8. No, I think you handled that perfectly. We're all only human, people do make the occasional mistake, and they handled things correctly themselves. Good on you for not going off at the deep end
  9. Yup, I use the SiRamik as well, great stuff.
  10. Heh, great minds again.
  11. NO NO NO If it's a new car, then get a proper new car detail done and a ceramic coating put on. Gtechniq, Siramik, Nanolex, whatever your choice of poison is. Anything else is a waste of time.
  12. If you're going to use a cover, then you have to wash and clean your car every single time before you put it on, else all the dirt will get trapped and scratch the paint to buggery. Best off just keeping it topped up with a decent LSP, something like the Envy FA is superb for ease of use and gives excellent results.
  13. Didn't even know it was out! That was silly, releasing alongside FH3.
  14. Nope, only the person/company who made the plate. It's only an MOT thing, no law against not having it.
  15. Checking for air leaks post-MAF would be the first place I'd look.
  16. Any news on this Olly? Has the supplier agreed to take it back and refund you yet?
  17. What car are you after?

    tyres on a budget

People often cast judgement on "Eagle F1's" without stating which variation they are referring to. As Rich points out, they are on their 3rd model currently "Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3". I'm running them all around on the Zed, I highly rate them. As do alot of others if this is anything to go by: http://www.tyrerevie...symmetric-3.htm This is very true, and it's a pet hate of mine which I should've picked up on I'm on the same tyres as you. I decided to have a bit of a play with tyre pressures on the cars today after washing them, and it seems that the F1s get better if you massively drop the pressures. I'm now running 5psi (!) below standard on the Impreza, and feel seems significantly improved. Admittedly it's a lovely dry day which plays to the strengths of the Goodyears, but even so it's surprising. I'll have to keep an eye on the sidewall wear though. Also, that tyrereview site is a load of bobbins. Most people will always praise stuff they've paid money for, and 99% of them on there have no idea what they're talking about.
  20. Just give the money to Ilogikal and get him to put something together for you. What is the budget?
  21. So what do you propose to do now then?

We run F1s on our Impreza, and I really don't like them at all when things get slippery. Even with the 4WD, I find a distinct lack of grip but more importantly feel. In the dry they're fine, but in terms of feedback I'm really not impressed. The RE070s the Scoob is supposed to run with were much more communicative, even at the expense of wet grip. I've never found the MPSS to drop off significantly at low temps. How old/worn are yours?
  23. Actually, before we answer this I think we need to know if we're trying to talk you into it or out of it
  24. Depends if you want to spend £13K on 370 or not. I wouldn't, but you may want to.
  25. Just call your insurer. You pay them thousands of pounds over the years, it's really not worth the faff. What if he suddenly changes his mind when it comes to pay the bill? What if the repair job is crappy? What about a courtesy car? Just do the proper thing and call your insurer. Your premium won't rise any more than the 0.5% increase it's going to have because of IPT changes this year anyway. Utterly pointless to try and save £10 when fault isn't even in question. Although maybe don't park on yellow hatched lines in the future
