Did you not know you could remove the cardboard/wood boot base and the cavinous space under that literally doubled the size of the stock boot? We had our juke for 4 years from new - was one of the first people in our area to buy one. We took it on our yearly 2 week holiday down to Cornwall each year, and with a new baby at the time, had to take push chair, travel cot, blankets, milk, bottles, billions of nappies, food, toys, not to mention enough clothes for 2 adults for 2 weeks. We used the passenger seat to store more stuff and the 2nd adult sat in the back to keep the baby/toddler entertained. Cant say I noticed any lack of room in passenger seat with baby seat behind it during normal use, but we may have had a different seat on our ISO base. Whilst the OP said he doesnt like the American look of the Ford Edge, id highly recommend one. We got one before Christmas and it really is a tank, can fit 2 pushchairs in the boot without even noticing them. Prior to that, we upgraded from the Juke to the Ford Kuga when we got baby 2, but I never really liked the Kuga. We looked at the alternatives to the Edge and just couldnt justify the extra cost. To top it up, the insurance on the Edge was actually cheaper than the older Kuga it replaced. Speaking of insurance if you are planning to keep the 350z then you`ll have no NCB to use on the SUV which may make it a bit steap, unless your missus has her own NCB she can use. The boot was poorly designed as it wasted space with the false floor and the massive plastic spare wheel tray that just held a can of tyre gunk on the Nismo, making it deeper didnt really help us though. We didn't want the hassle of playing Tetris every time we went out shopping with the pushchair so upgraded to a 520d M Sport Tourer.

There is nothing quite like an Elise. Its the benchmark I use when it comes to handling now, early k series cars are so pure and light you feel everything.

Last few months of having my GT86 I plugged the piped induction noise. You can use the plastic cigarette lighter socket cover thats behind the glove box

If its just a weekend toy then don't discount a k series elise. Spend around £15k for a mint one and you won't lose much if any money over the next few years. I sold my 2005 111S at christmas for what I paid for it 4 years ago.

After selling the Elise and not getting on with the GT86 I've been looking at replacements for some time. Would love a mustang but out of budget and scared of buying a used 987 Cayman. I test drove a few cars and in the end my head and heart came to the practical conclusion that this would work for now.

Boss's mum has the W12 version which has something like 440bhp.

The lights are a warranty repair also, you can buy seal kits but they should replace them. It seems hit and miss if you get condensation, it's meant to be caused by over tightening the lights when fitting.

I think I need help, as I like it. Would be a nightmare to clean and wax though.

They should replace the original battery under warranty, mines been upgrade to the all black 65ah one.

Haven't driven a BRZ but the GT86 does feel lazy on initial turn in. I run rainsport 3's so plenty of grip but still allow the back end to step out on demand. Due to the way the stability control works by braking the rear wheels mine are filthy compared to the fronts. I haven't played too much with the VSC Sport mode yet which allows you to play more but still has a safety net.

Why would a 2.9 auto be immune and not a manual 2.9, from my research into buying a cayman its mainly the 3.4 engines that are effected but early cars all can suffer with the IMS bearing.

I've been looking at Caymans for some time now and have been scared off gen1 cars due to the potential problems. Hoping to get a gen2 2.9

I'm tempted to get back in an Elise but go for a tidy S1 and drop in some 135 MGTF cams to give it more top end power.

I've had my last couple sets from camskill but also ordered from tyre leader before. They are great in the wet, I use too tip toe around before until I fitted these. So far I've had them on an Alfa GT, Gen7 Celica, 320d, GT86 and my sister runs them on her Astra and Octavia. Merc OEM tyres tend to have MO/MO1 on the sidewall, BMW tyres have a star on the side.

I always run Rainsport 3's on my daily now. Have had them on at least half a dozen cars now, currently on the GT86 and plenty of fun to still be had.

As long as you can turn the passenger air bag off theres no problem fitting a child seat in the front. Not sure if you can turn it off in a 350z though ?!?!?

Your back must be in good shape!! Ive perfected getting him and out now, it is getting harder the bigger he gets though. I sold my Elise as in the past 2 years I did less then 600 miles a year, its hard finding alone time to go out in it when you've got a little one. I keep looking at larger 4 door cars but a 2 door still fits my needs and they'll be a point when the little one can climb in and out the car themselves.

I use my GT86 for nursery drop offs and will be swapping it for a Cayman this year. Evenings, weekends etc when we go out as a family we have an F11 520d Tourer which is too big really for our needs now.

He needs to fit 3 child seats, we barely got 1 in our Juke Nismo. It had to go behind the passenger seat as there wasn't space behind me driving and even then the passenger had a close up view of the dash.

N47 never actually had a recall, it was a quality enhancement and only effected certain cars around 2007-2009. I had my E92 done under warranty and the bill from synter was £3.5k Ran mine around town for over a year without issue and the odd motorway blast, it would do partial dpf burns roughly every 200 miles as I checked the pdf readings regularly with carly for bmw app.
